The location of the hotel is quite convenient at the intersection of two major highways. However, it is set in a alcove and the sound does not bother us or penetrate into the rooms. Parking is great. There is a deli in a gas station nearby. It is a short drive to Shrewsbury, Marlborough, Northborough or Berlin. We were quite happy and satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the daily breakfast. Staff are attentive and provide additional amenities and towels whenever needed. There’s a kitchenette inside the room in the suite even though we did not utilize it, it was good to know that it’s there. The coffee was of exceptional quality every morning. They have packets of hot cocoa, which my granddaughter had at least twice daily. The breakfast includes fresh fruits and bananas. The refrigerator in the room is good to store take away food or salads that we may bring home. Elevators were always working. Front desk lobby staff always greeted on arrival. They have a daily complimentary newspaper, which is where we learned of President Jimmy Carter‘s death earlier this morning. Everything is clean and it smells nice. The towels are fluffy and clean. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash is sulfite free for sensitive skin. Water pressure is good and that they run out of hot water. There are accommodative to pets and we have several of them in the lobby. However, we had specifically requested a pet free room because we did not want the smell of urine in the room. We were pleasantly surprised that none of the corridors or the lobby had any smell of animals. Have a welcome are the best thing we loved about this hotel with the 16 inch mattresses in the room and we had very fulfilling and deep sleep every night which is the best thing that a traveler can ask for. We stayed for seven nights from Christmas...
Read moreMade a reservation 45 days in advance at the hotel website for seven nights in a handicapped room with a roll in shower. When we got to the hotel at 7pm the desk girl said no handicapped rooms were available and that they did not guarantee availability of handicapped rooms. What a pack of BS. We have booked more than 100 handicapped rooms in the past few years and have never failed to receive one. Any 8 year old could set up a computer program to insure the availability of handicapped rooms to those that book them.| 6 mornings out of 7 the breakfast food was icy cold and no microwave in breakfast area to heat it. Breakfast items were often not restocked as there seemed to be only one person working and she disappeared frequently. Same items every morning except one day they changed from potato cakes to hash browns. Of course they were cold and tasted like rubber. Room was very dirty. Looked like the floors and rugs has not been cleaned in a while. | I had to borrow a shower chair from my brother locally as the hotel did not have any. My wife only got three showers in the 7 days as I had to hold her up as she showered as her balance is her handicap and there were no bars for he to hold on to.| We have stayed at this hotel 3 time in the past four years but we will NEVER stay here again. If you stay here and need a special room type I recommend you check a few days In advance to insure you get what you want. By the time we got there at 7pm at night it was too late to find a different hotel. I would really recommend you find a different hotel instead of this one to begin with as it has gone way downhill since we stayed here 2 years ago and the obviously no longer give a s**t about...
Read morepre tldr: used/dirty towels, stains on bedsheet, bathroom smelled like urine, tv didnt work, unhelpful/unresponsive staff
Disappointed that I have to write this review publically. I've stayed at close to a hundred Hiltons over the years (almost exclusively Hilton) and most of them have been great stays. Admittedly there have been some not-so-great ones, but it's almost always been rectified or followed up by . This is only the second time I brought my concerns up to hotel staff and haven't had any adequate follow-up.
The room I checked into smelled like urine, with the bathroom in particular smelling strongly of it. I went to the front desk about this and was handed a spray bottle of Clorox to help with the smell.
After going to town with the Clorox in the bathroom, I then found that 3 of the towels in that room were dirty and not changed. One of the mini wash cloth towels had makeup/lipstick, and two of the big towels had small yellow stains on that smelled bad. My bed sheet had strange stains on it as well around the top part of the bed. I have pictures of all these.
To top it all off the TV in my room didn't work - I tried troubleshooting as per front desk instructions but it wasn't resolved. I was there for one night in the middle of a long week of business travel so I wasn't too fussed.
I checked out about two weeks ago and brought all of this up to the front desk, and, again, have not heard back from the GM or any other staff.
If you're in the area, you're going to be in much better hands at the Embassy Suites a few...
