We usually stay at another hotel when we come to this area but they were completely booked. I will preface this by saying we rarely ever complain- we’re the kind of family that just kind of sucks it up and deals with it and makes the best of the situation. This seemed like a good choice but by the first evening, we instantly regretted our stay. The room was definitely not cleaned properly- our kids found a half eaten, dried up breakfast sausage under the desk, there was still soap bar residue all over one of the shower shelves, and there was something sticky on the carpet. The breakfast was not hot and left a lot to be desired- we ended up going to the Waffle House next door on our second morning instead. The highway noise is awful as well- the girl who checked us in said she was trying to get us a room on the quiet side of the hotel but they were all taken- of course the loud group on our floor got all of the quiet rooms. On top of that, there was a large group that checked in after us who was there for some kind of hockey event. This group was so inconsiderate and honestly ruined our stay more than anything else. The first night, they all had their doors propped open and kids were just bumping into the doors and letting them slam against the locks. Kids running and yelling in the hallway. Not only were they obnoxiously loud at all times of the day and late at night (our 5 month old was quieter than these kids combined- I actually don’t think he even cried once during our stay), they created several hazards that staff (and the kids’ parents for that matter) didn’t seem concerned about. Running around during breakfast on Saturday and almost knocked into an employee carrying a full coffee carafe; almost ran into an older man who had to then move out of the way to avoid falling Several children (6 or more), completely blocking the hallway on our floor for hours (not an exaggeration) by laying on the floor with their tablets, phones, food, drinks, etc
We literally had to step over all of these kids even after asking SEVERAL times politely for them to move. No parents present or anything. No supervision. We semi-jokingly asked if they got locked out of their rooms and they said “no, we’re just playing out here” with their eyes still glued to their tablets. My husband had to bring a luggage cart up on the morning we were leaving and these kids barely moved enough for him to push past. On our way back down with the cart, there was finally a “parent” out there with them who just casually told them to move their legs in- offered no apology or anything. This was after we announced we needed them to move yet again. We had to step over them still, step over their trash and belongings etc. The level of disrespect for other people who are PAYING to stay at this hotel was wild. This group seemed to think they were the only ones and could just do whatever they wanted. Upon checkout, no one at the desk asked how our stay was- maybe they already knew the answer.
In the future, for the price we still had to pay for this hotel, we will pay more just to stay somewhere else or hopefully our regular spot will be...
Read moreIt’s better to stay at a roach motel then this disgusting totally inappropriate totally unprofessional Holiday Inn. By the highway they lie they cheat they steal they charge your card when they say they won’t when you don’t even stay there and by the way, it’s in the middle of nowhere and 15 minutes down the road via car is a very nice cheaper airport Holiday Inn corporate care. The airport franchise is not related to this franchise and this franchise doesn’t understand how to be a civil professional, and do customer service correctly because every person that I came into contact with from Erica Gonzalez, the general manager to Goldie, the woman at the front later on when I came back who was completely dumbfounded and didn’t answer corporate when they called on the telephone First I was pressured by Erica to book and book now give me your card and when I said it’s a business expense and I am a traveling doctor. She looked at me like I had six heads, but she knew how to charge my card when she said she wouldn’t. I’m still waiting for the charges to be reversed and if not, you know what’s gonna happen. I’m going to dispute all charges and make a big stink and make sure every single person on the Internet and on television know about this and if not, I’ll just tell the truth cause I have all the phone calls and all the information to prove it it started off with wow there’s a waffle house get off Because I came in from New York City at 1 o’clock in the afternoon and I wanted lunch to then oh it’s getting dark. It’s cold out let’s get a hotel room look there’s a hotel right here let’s go in. My husband went in to use the bathroom. I asked how much Erica is standing there extremely rude stinks that talking to her employee better than a walk-in Her employee the off duty made who has no car was saying I get my nails quality and she is busy doing the tea with the general manager rather than the general manager, doing her job and booking a reservation and then lying about my card not being charged until I check in at four, but don’t worry there is rooms available before four don’t worry, I have your phone number I will call you Here. I said give me some kind of information cause I thought I was in New Jersey. What kind of information well proof that I have a reservation and instead she lies gives me a post and says there’s my card over there. Go get it like I’m her dog then when we went down 15 minute drive me and my husband on this business trip unexpected then from the target next to there, civilization of all the restaurants and all the shopping malls That is when I find out That the hotel next to civilization a.k.a. the target and all the people has me charged more of $180 versus $150 so I think I couldn’t switch my reservation. Well I call Erica answer. The phone is dead. You’ve been charged you come back or you will just pay and stay then I call corporate and...
Read moreI've never had to leave a comment like this and really don't like having to. I don't enjoy leaving a negative review, but this is absolutely necessary. If you enjoy feeling endangered, this is the place to stay.. there was a silver car that was parked across from our truck in the handicap area, the car pulled in, remained parked there, running, was parked there for hours. I didn't see anyone go in or out of the car. Windows were so darkly tinted. I went in the side entrance to go to my room, which you can see all the way down the hallway, (so whomever was in that car would have seen me leave and go towards the front) came out the front, there was that same silver car .... Was a very uncomfortable situation. Come to find out it was an employee whom was parked in the handicap spot on the left side of the building and moved the car to the front of the building, (bad timing I suppose) I felt as I were being followed by said vehicle.. I was unaware that was an employee's vehicle, felt maybe I was being followed.. before I knew anything about the persons in the silver vehicle, I stood about 3-5 feet away and waved trying to figure out what was going on (with that same silver car that was previously parked in the handicap area across from the work truck.)
At that moment, the window rolled down and I was accosted by two people(come to find out they are employees of this IHG location; male in the driver's seat and a female in the passenger seat.) I was just trying to explain to them I didn't know why that car seemed to follow me and why I felt uncomfortable. !!! Wouldn't y'all do the same?????? Absolutely unacceptable behavior!! I realized that the woman or a girl that was in the passenger seat was the person that checked us in. (Apon check in and when I had questions about the hotel she was lovley, didn't know she was in the car) She should have been able to calmly explain I had nothing to worry about but no I was attacked verbally by both of them. As tho i'd done something wrong..
The king suit was so so. .. bed was clean and comfortable . Pillows were nice. the floors felt like somebody poured molasses on it; sticky is an understatement. I wiped the floor( in the bathroom) with a damp towel. It turned black. Definitely have extra socks or slippers!! The Jacuzzi tub seemed dirty to me. Was very slippery when getting in. The room was quite. Wasn't on the side of the building where the interstate is. Thankfully.
Nope never again!!!
Keep your loved ones and kids safe, never underestimate what happens at hotels.
Absolutely unacceptable behavior from the staff at this holiday inn. Worst IHG location I've EVER stayed at!!! We will never stay...
