UPDATE - they eventually refunded my parking. Iâm satisfied with the result.
I stayed here for 3 nights for a work trip. The STAY went really well. I was generally not in the hotel very much except to sleep but the room was clean and updated, my floor was quiet, the location was convenient (I walked to the work locations and to dinner each day) and the service was excellentâŚ.until I checked out. On check in, I was asked if I had a vehicle I would be parking and I told the woman checking me that I did not. Her response was âoh Iâll have to get your parking removed thenâ. So I used they automatically add a $15 parking fee for every guest no matter what. I thought that would be the end of it. The morning of checkout I noticed my invoice had the parking fee still on it so before I left for work I asked the front desk to have it removed. âOnly the manager can remove it and sheâs not in yetâ. No problemâŚ.I have time to come back before my flight and they were holding on to my luggage for the day. When I came back around 4:30 to grab my bag and get the parking removed, I got another âsorry, only the manager can do this and sheâs not inâ. Ok well thatâs a little annoying but Iâll call tomorrow, as they said she would be in in the morning for the day. Now, I know this woman exists because the hotel hosts a managerâs social every Wednesday with free food and drinks. I attended briefly and it was greatâŚand the manager sang karaoke and was amazing. I was ready right then and there for a 5-star review. I ended up calling 3 times, each on a different day and each time told the manager has to do it and sheâs not in. They had my number to call me back and never did. I just needed the parking removed and for them to send me an updated invoice for my expense report. Never happened. So if youâre looking for a nice hotel that will rip you off, stay here. For the $45 they stole from me, theyâre losing me as a customer when I visit again next month and every...
Read moreThe Five Point Location was good. Several restaurants to choose from in close proximity. Had a Mother's Day weekend stay for two nights. I paid for an extended 3pm checkout on Sunday. I checked out and went to put my luggage in the car. Within five minutes I realized I left my Mother's Day gift on the table beside the television on a paper towel. I was still on the premises. It was a beautiful David Yurman silver with diamond cross necklace. Less than 10 minutes of leaving the room hotel staff stole the necklace. I went to the front desk and ask hotel staff to escort me to the room. I entered the room and immediately saw the necklace was gone. In the presence of the front desk staff I addressed the two male staff in the bedroom area and both denied taking it. I recall when I left the room at 3pm I was asked by a female staff if I was checking out. I informed her I was and she went directly into the room. So obviously between the three staff someone took the necklace that was valued at $680. Even if it cost $5 it was mine and the principle of the matter is no one should have taken it. I contacted the police, filed a report and I reached out to the General Manager. Mr. Patel response is that I had checked out of the room. WOW. So Hilton Hotel here is the question: If you check out of a room does that mean hotel staff is justified to steal your property? Mr. Patel was very rude and unprofessional displaying no customer service. He talked over me when I shared my concerns. I definitely will never stay there again. This incident ruined my Mother's Day! All guest... please don't have anything valuable in the room and definitely don't forget for 5 minutes and...
Read moreHad not received my Medallia survey, so figured I would post a bit here. I stayed at another Hilton the previous week in Louisville Kentucky. This UAB Hilton was nice, very friendly staff. Angela was able to fulfill my room request which was really appreciated. Received my two waters and red velvet choc bar upon check in - all nice (even scored a second choc bar the second night).
The room was generally clean, however crumbs under the kitchen table and also a clear plastic push pin on the floor in the bedroom â luckily, I did not step on it. The in-room coffee maker was the old school Cuisinart coffee dual pod type â did not use it. The Keurigâs are so much nicer and thought this was standard these days â again the Hilton in Louisville has them as do most others Hiltonâs I have stayed.
I am fully aware of the grab and go breakfast, however this one was far below even normal. Coffee was full of grounds and did not have time to wait for a second batch. Simply wanted oatmeal to go and was provided oatmeal in a flip top carry out meant for sandwiches and such. Nearly impossible to eat oatmeal out of. The Louisville Hilton had actual round soup type contains with separate lids â way more grab and go friendly. Plus, there were zero condiments for the oatmeal. The Louisville Hilton had raisins in small to go side cups â real nice feature. Only fruit to go was oranges â apples would be nice like Louisville â way easier to eat on the go.
Lastly, there is a $10 charge for parking which kind of put the icing on the cake, sort of speak.
Likely will pick a different place to stay during...
