Birmingham’s Five Points South district is yours. We’re minutes from McWane Science Center, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, the Zoo, and Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. There are many restaurants within walking distance. For a quiet night, take advantage of your in-suite kitchen. WiFi, breakfast, and our evening social on Wednesdays are free. #tiktokgo #hotel #alabama

MOLD! MOLD! MOLD! I didn't know that this fungus was an amenity for "Hilton Diamond Members"This one hurt. Wife and I love Birmingham! I booked this for our anniversary, and... Just no! My wife put her ice packs in the freezer while I parked my car across the street in Hotel Indigo's parking deck. Before I even touched the handle, I saw MOLD in the gasket on the top of the freezer(Being 6'2 helps with that). Opened the freezer and voila! More mold. Fridge, more mold. The front desk agent was polite when I asked for a room change. Didn't have anything available, so I just asked for somebody to come clean it. So the misses and I decided to take a stroll to CVS for Lysol and Clorox wipes to disinfect the room. SPRAYED AND WIPED ALL SURFACES AND BEDDING. Side note - This hotel no longer has the blue perforated stickers on the doors. An employee came up and cleaned the mold. The wipes in the sink are from what was left over after the employee cleaned it. She was incredibly pleasant. To sum it all up, Staff was friendly, super friendly! The entire stay. Hotel looks very pleasing and welcoming. But MOLD, is something that I, nor any health official would turn a blind eye to. Needless to say that I won't be visiting that hotel again.

For a little more, you truly have a great experience and hotel stay. We opted to stay here overnight on a quick getaway, and it was worth it. Extremely clean, modern, and great space and location. The room was large and had a nice galley full kitchen. We had a mini cooler and enjoyed snacks and a late bite in our room. GrubHub has free delivery for the Homewood guests. Walking distance to a few businesses and restaurants if you do go out. Excellent breakfast - above and beyond! Hot items and cold items - but elevated. Our Sunday options included breakfast taco bar, overnight oats, or chia seed overnight "oats" with a toppings bar. Waffle maker, cereal, yogurts, juice, coffee, and American breakfast - eggs, toast, and more. On Wednesday evenings, they have an evening reception in the lobby for those guests staying more extended time. Saw a notice for a local shuttle M-F (5 mile radius) for the daytime. Great option for staying local. We are keeping this on our next stay list bc the customer service, quality, and amenities were really nice - don't forget your bathing suit for the small but nice indoor pool. Or enjoy sitting on the patio near the fire pit or grills on-site. Overall, it is just phenomenal to enjoy!

UPDATE - they eventually refunded my parking. I’m satisfied with the result.

I stayed here for 3 nights for a work trip. The STAY went really well. I was generally not in the hotel very much except to sleep but the room was clean and updated, my floor was quiet, the location was convenient (I walked to the work locations and to dinner each day) and the service was excellent….until I checked out. On check in, I was asked if I had a vehicle I would be parking and I told the woman checking me that I did not. Her response was “oh I’ll have to get your parking removed then”. So I used they automatically add a $15 parking fee for every guest no matter what. I thought that would be the end of it. The morning of checkout I noticed my invoice had the parking fee still on it so before I left for work I asked the front desk to have it removed. “Only the manager can remove it and she’s not in yet”. No problem….I have time to come back before my flight and they were holding on to my luggage for the day. When I came back around 4:30 to grab my bag and get the parking removed, I got another “sorry, only the manager can do this and she’s not in”. Ok well that’s a little annoying but I’ll call tomorrow, as they said she would be in in the morning for the day. Now, I know this woman exists because the hotel hosts a manager’s social every Wednesday with free food and drinks. I attended briefly and it was great…and the manager sang karaoke and was amazing. I was ready right then and there for a 5-star review. I ended up calling 3 times, each on a different day and each time told the manager has to do it and she’s not in. They had my number to call me back and never did. I just needed the parking removed and for them to send me an updated invoice for my expense report. Never happened. So if you’re looking for a nice hotel that will rip you off, stay here. For the $45 they stole from me, they’re losing me as a customer when I visit again next month and every...

The Five Point Location was good. Several restaurants to choose from in close proximity. Had a Mother's Day weekend stay for two nights. I paid for an extended 3pm checkout on Sunday. I checked out and went to put my luggage in the car. Within five minutes I realized I left my Mother's Day gift on the table beside the television on a paper towel. I was still on the premises. It was a beautiful David Yurman silver with diamond cross necklace. Less than 10 minutes of leaving the room hotel staff stole the necklace. I went to the front desk and ask hotel staff to escort me to the room. I entered the room and immediately saw the necklace was gone. In the presence of the front desk staff I addressed the two male staff in the bedroom area and both denied taking it. I recall when I left the room at 3pm I was asked by a female staff if I was checking out. I informed her I was and she went directly into the room. So obviously between the three staff someone took the necklace that was valued at $680. Even if it cost $5 it was mine and the principle of the matter is no one should have taken it. I contacted the police, filed a report and I reached out to the General Manager. Mr. Patel response is that I had checked out of the room. WOW. So Hilton Hotel here is the question: If you check out of a room does that mean hotel staff is justified to steal your property? Mr. Patel was very rude and unprofessional displaying no customer service. He talked over me when I shared my concerns. I definitely will never stay there again. This incident ruined my Mother's Day! All guest... please don't have anything valuable in the room and definitely don't forget for 5 minutes and...

Had not received my Medallia survey, so figured I would post a bit here. I stayed at another Hilton the previous week in Louisville Kentucky. This UAB Hilton was nice, very friendly staff. Angela was able to fulfill my room request which was really appreciated. Received my two waters and red velvet choc bar upon check in - all nice (even scored a second choc bar the second night).

The room was generally clean, however crumbs under the kitchen table and also a clear plastic push pin on the floor in the bedroom – luckily, I did not step on it. The in-room coffee maker was the old school Cuisinart coffee dual pod type – did not use it. The Keurig’s are so much nicer and thought this was standard these days – again the Hilton in Louisville has them as do most others Hilton’s I have stayed.

I am fully aware of the grab and go breakfast, however this one was far below even normal. Coffee was full of grounds and did not have time to wait for a second batch. Simply wanted oatmeal to go and was provided oatmeal in a flip top carry out meant for sandwiches and such. Nearly impossible to eat oatmeal out of. The Louisville Hilton had actual round soup type contains with separate lids – way more grab and go friendly. Plus, there were zero condiments for the oatmeal. The Louisville Hilton had raisins in small to go side cups – real nice feature. Only fruit to go was oranges – apples would be nice like Louisville – way easier to eat on the go.

Lastly, there is a $10 charge for parking which kind of put the icing on the cake, sort of speak.

Likely will pick a different place to stay during...
