From the moment we stepped into Adam and Eve Café, located at 1022 20th St S in Birmingham, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between cozy and chic, with a welcoming ambiance that invited us to sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience.
We were immediately impressed with the efficiency of the service, our entire order was ready and served in under three minutes, which is exceptional for any café. We began with a traditional Arabic coffee, served with warm, sweet dates, setting the perfect tone for what was to come.
Next came the pastries: the Toffee Lotus Croissant and Oreo Croissant with Pistachio Butter were not only visually appealing but packed with unique and decadent flavors that delighted the palate. The balance of sweetness and texture was spot on, especially with the pistachio butter adding a rich, nutty dimension.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly what they proudly call the “Bham Best Sandwich”and it lived up to the name. Fresh ingredients, perfectly layered, and full of flavor, it’s no surprise this is one of their signature items.
To round out the experience, we tried the Grab-and-Go Smoothie and the Arasi Smoothie. Both were refreshing and made with high-quality ingredients, a perfect finish to our meal.
We spent about an hour and a half enjoying our food and soaking in the vibrant street view from their windows. It was a calm, relaxing environment that allowed us to truly unwind and appreciate the moment.

Read moreThe fact there’s a Yemenis anything in Birmingham is astounding. That said, if you want to experience something unique and interesting, this is definitely the place to do just that. Pastries, fruit, milkshakes, smoothies, wraps, sandwiches, plates… they literally have it all. I got a spicy wrap concoction that was utterly delightful. It came with peta and a gaugamoush (spelling??) that was utterly INCREDIBLE. But the REAL feature was the coffee-tea I ordered. Made with the husks of the coffee bean and steeps in a tea pot like a tea would, this coffee was like nothing I’ve ever had before. It’s prepared fresh and served to order, so it’s going to take a bit. But it’s worth it. I can’t imagine a liquid tasting like it did, but it was weird and special. If you want to try something you’ve never tasted, get one of the special Arabic drinks. It’s fascinating how it tastes. And the smell! I only wish they made a candle with that scent.
Overall, this place is wonderful. They’ve just opened recently, so they could work on their pace of service. Other than that, I have no complaints. It’s weird, tasty, and unique. The inside is spotless and comfortable, complete with lounging seats. And the prices were very reasonable. I remember thinking we got all we did and it felt cheap! Definitely a must try for sure. My girlfriend and I plan on making it a new favorite for us when we’re downtown or...
Read moreAdam and Eve is not strictly a vegan cafe but they have MANY vegan options, which is my diet. One of my gripes in general about getting vegan sandwiches, burgers, etc in public is that they often taste exactly like something I could make at home (because many establishments use store-available brands like Beyond or Impossible). This is not the case with Adam and Eve. This was my first time having one of their sandwiches (I had two amazing vegan deserts in the past) -- I got the vegan chicken sandwich/wrap (in pita bread) and it was spectacular, so delicious and had its own unique texture and flavor (so juicy!); it did not taste or feel like any of the "mock meat" brands I buy in stores. I also don't know where they get their pita bread from but it was so soft and velvety! I also appreciate that their vegan options are not bland and unoriginal -- it's so hard to find vegan options in non-vegan restaurants that have plant-based proteins (i.e. seitan, vegan chick'n, etc). And if you're not vegan or vegetarian, they have a huge regular menu as well which I can only assume must be great, based on the flavor of my food. Also the space itself is really nice, spacious and upscale with plenty of seating and very friendly...
