Allure Nails & Spa — Local services in Bloomington

I heard this place was pretty good so I figured I would check it out. My nail technician was Emma or at least that’s the station she was sitting at. I picked out a color that was nowhere near the color that I was given, she said the colors look different in the book. FYI be careful when choosing your colors! She was VERY rushed and did a terrible job!!! I believe she put used plastic gloves in my hands while removing old dip as the new ones she pulled out for herself were not all wrinkled up like they had been in the garbage. She didn’t remove all the old dip as she said she did. She burned my finger nail tops, she chipped three of my nails so the nails I’ve been working toward growing out were now shortened. She burned the skin around most of my fingernails, did a terrible job filing as you can see, and then charged me more on my receipt then I was supposed to be charged. They were unable to fix this charge so they just gave me the cash back for the difference. Don’t waste your money or your time here. Also, I have never been to a salon that does not use the gel top coat as standard practice with a dip….don’t expect it here! I won’t be back! Worst place out of the four I’ve been to so...

I discovered this nail place a year ago or so and up until this last visit I was really impressed with the quality of pedicures I have had there. But the other day I went there with 3 friends on my birthday; 3 pedicures and 1 manicure which we had reservations for. We were all on time. The staff knew it was my birthday. I was the only one getting polish and while I picked out my color my friends got started on their pedicure or manicure. It took me 30 seconds to grab a color and I went back to my chair which didnt have any water in the tub. I sat and waited for my person to come back and start my pedicure, and I waited and waited....Every few minutes I questioned why I wasn't getting my pedicure but staff pretended to ignore me. By the time someone came to start filling my tub it was 30 minutes later and my 3 other friends were about done with their pedicure or manicure. I said forget it cause the others are basically done. I really wanted a pedicure on my birthday and we had reservations. They ruined the first part of my birthday. No apologies or anything. Going elsewhere...

I adjusted my rating from earlier. Recently, the service has been average at best. Sometimes the techs are really on it and other times my nails come out very uneven and they don’t even bother to soak my nails and remove the dead cuticles. Or remove the excess from underneath my nails. $47 for a gel manicure. This makes me sad because I used to really like coming here to get my nails done, but why should I pay full price if you’re not going to do the full service?

This place is great! I am very picky about my nails and when I go to other salons I usually find something wrong with the end product, but not this time! Katie (?) did my nails and was super gentle as I have sensitive cuticles and made sure the length and shape was correct. Very efficient in how she worked and wasn’t all over the place. $45 for dip powder and the appointment only took about 30 minutes! The place was super clean and everyone was very friendly, I will definitely be back.

P.S. they share a parking lot with a lot of other stores so parking can be a little tricky but...
