I wasn't able to stay at the facility. I had looked at the"reviews" and heard it was a good place to stay, so I booked. I was going to attend a few things in Boone and surrounding areas with my grand-kids as well as check out a rally they were having with one of my sons. I had an emergency the night before everyone was leaving. When I saw they charged me anyhow, I asked for a refund and really would have been okay with a partial one. But this man is determined to steal my money. That's what I call it when some one takes your money and gives nothing in return. He said he has a ridiculous policy that you must give 7 days notice if you need to get a refund ( makes him feel better about it). I promise had I saw that, I would not have even given thought about doing business with him to start with. We all know that nothing can happen or come up out of the blue 3 days out, right? How can anyone justify that as a way to keep peoples money. I'm not trying to sway anyone from doing business here, go ahead, but this is what reviews are for, to talk about my experience with said business. I'd be willing to bet that if people actually understand that these people are going to try and keep your money once they have it, regardless. I know you can put whatever you want into a contract or policy, however, it doesn't make it...
Read moreThis quaint little Inn is at the bottom of Grandfather Mountain. It has great skiing and beautiful sights. The owners Jim And Maxine are wonderful people. What you would expect from a Mountain Community. There are many wineries in the area with a very nice on only minutes away. You also have many attractions within minutes also. Nice little shops and Restaurants dot the area. 2 things that was beyond top Notch for me was the thick soft bath towels and the strong water pressure. I will continue my review once I get back home. There are many attractions within minutes of Hidden Valley. Hidden Valley is very close to great skiing on GrandFather Mountain.A Winery is about 1 mile down the road. And the wine is VERY GOOD! You have outlet mall shopping close by. Antique stores and other fun places to shop starting right next door to Hidden Valley. You can also pan for gold. Tweetsie Railroad ,Blowing Rocking and the entrance to The Blue Ridge Parkway with in 30 minutes of Hidden Valley. I will post more pictures as I have time! Please feel Free To ask questions.I will do my best to answer them.BUT please do not ask me about prices of anything..it varies depending on the time...
Read moreI have been visiting this hotel since I discovered it during my senior year in college at App State. The at-home, rustic feel of the rooms is always so relaxing, and being about 15 minutes from central Boone means being away from the hustle and bustle of downtown without being too far to make the drive to pick up food or go shopping tiresome. The rooms are always very clean and all towels and linens are provided, and the view of Grandfather Mountain right down the road never disappoints when the weather is clear enough to see it. The hotel offers Wifi and cable TV with a guide so you can browse channels in your room. I would highly recommend staying here if you prefer a quieter atmosphere. If you're interested in having food delivered frequently, this may not be the place for you as it is a little out of the way for most delivery services, but there are a variety of restaurants nearby and the rooms have a local guide that list several places to try if you need recommendations. It's definitely a wonderful place to stay and I will keep coming back so long as they're accepting...
