Echota Resort — Hotel in Blowing Rock

Robbery. I am an owner at Echota. It is a lovely gated community and the office staff are wonderful and very helpful. Word of warning to owners and renters, I offer caution to not bring anything of value to your Echota unit or stay without camera surveillance. As I was robbed by an individual who had access to my condo via a master key. Household effects which my insurer valued at $3,000.00. It was reported to the police and their investigation surmised that it was a (former at the point when I discovered the robbery) Echota employee. The police informed me that there was not enough evidence to bring formal charges. So disappointed, as it advertised 4 queen beds and all of the beds were full size. The mattress on the beds had dips in them and slept horrible. Brought this to the office as a problem and all they could do was say, "I'm sorry". If one doesnt get a good nights sleep, it is hard to enjoy the next day. Great place! Lots of new construction and newly renovated places to stay. We have been twice and both times stayed on red tail summit. The views are excellent from up there! The outdoor pool is small (few chairs but that might have been a function of COVID) but nice too. If you're staying near the top you will definitely need 4wd or AWD to get up the mountain if there's any significant snow coming.
