I want to start by saying that we have been waiting and waiting to come try this place out because it looks super cute when passing and we absolutely loved the fact that there is a dog park with agility stuff.
We finally were able to come today and while the atmosphere is really cute inside and out, with local artist artwork and an overall cozy vibe, the experience fell short.
This was our first time visiting and after driving 1.5 hours this morning to make this one of our first stops, immediately upon walking in the door with a leashed dog, we were almost scorned and treated like we should have known better than to bring our dog into the coffee shop. There is no sign saying otherwise or in fact a sign anywhere alerting you to where you should be taking your dog especially if this is your first visit. We were almost pushed out the door. We fully understand health violations and not having dogs inside, but It was a little unnerving and disappointing to say the least given it was busy, we had four kids with us, this being our first visit not knowing what to expect. It was a tad overwhelming. It was not the most welcoming of situations. It would have been nice if there had been a sign on the front door alerting others or a simple and friendly like, “Hey, welcome, we’re glad you’re here but can you please keep your pup outside.” At first glance, the name and the dog park make you feel otherwise.
We also noticed when ordering that even though this seems like it’s dog friendly given the name Mtn Dog and the dog park, there was literally nothing for your dog inside. No pup cups. No anything for the furry friends so we left slightly confused.
We were also excited to try the coffee as that is one of our favorite things to do and it was just eh especially after paying $9 for a latte. I have read the owners reviews and remarks to those saying the coffee missed the mark and to come back and say something but after being scorned at before even fully making it in the door we felt like we couldn’t say anything.
The best coffee shops are those where you are welcomed the moment you walk into the door and where you can feel at home and are coming back to old friends.
We may down the road give this another try in case today was an off day, but first impressions are literally everything and today was not the best experience for us which I am super sad about because I have been so excited for several months to be able to get back here and...
Read moreI recently stopped by Mountain Dog Coffee and was absolutely delighted by the experience. I ordered a cold brew with toasted marshmallow and vanilla, topped with white chocolate cold foam, and it was every bit as delicious as it sounds! The drink had a smooth, rich flavor, perfectly balanced between sweet and bold, with the white chocolate cold foam adding a creamy, velvety finish that made it feel like a treat in a cup.
The atmosphere here is just as satisfying as the coffee – imagine stepping into a cozy, cabin-style retreat. The warm, rustic decor, complete with wooden accents and soft lighting, creates a welcoming vibe that’s perfect for settling in with a great drink or chatting with friends. The seating is well-spaced and comfortable, making it an ideal spot to linger.
What truly set Mountain Dog Coffee apart, though, was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. It’s clear they’re passionate about what they do and take great pride in creating a memorable experience for their customers.
Whether you're a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a cozy place to relax, Mountain Dog Coffee is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back for that cold brew (and to try some new flavors!)....
Read moreMy husband scouted the place out the day before and picked us up some to go coffees, so we signed our dogs up for the dog park and came by this morning. Stepped inside to order and there was a bit of a line, so we had our pups waiting away from the counter to give other customers plenty of dog free space (our dogs were also properly leashed but not everyone wants attention from dogs and we respect that). Our dogs are regular coffee shop goers and know the drill. We were so excited to check the place out! Instead we were told we needed to go outside with the dogs and call our order in. This really wouldn’t have been an issue as we were planning on being outside anyway except the employee seemed upset with us and just yesterday my husband saw plenty of dogs inside ordering. We left and just headed home for coffee and breakfast, but what a disappointment! Our house is right down the road so we were hoping this would be a new go to spot. I completely understand and respect health code enforcement, but it seems like maybe the rules need to be more clear across the board and kindly communicated. What a bummer because the place...
