Booked here primarily for pricing as it was a more expensive week to visit Boise. This hotel is located a little further from downtown, but would be just fine if you had a vehicle to get around. The hotel has a fun lodge design, which I like. When checking in we met Devan who was working the front desk, he was helpful and nice and the check in process was smooth. We stayed a total of three nights, and it was a decent stay. Because you are sharing walls with other guests it can be loud, that's just how hotels work. As it got closer to the weekend the noise level did increase, but that's probably because more guests were there. One thing to note is that we didn't have a room attendant visit our room during the stay - which didn't bother us but if you'd like more attention and your bed made for you probably ask the front desk for that service. As far as the breakfast goes, it wasn't clear to me when it ended. I wandered around trying to find it one day and did find what remained from breakfast but it must end earlier than 10am. That didn't bother me because we were heading to town for breakfast anyway. This hotel isn't at its peak for quality but it's a decent place to stay. Our room was clean and so was the bedding. The bathroom was clean and stocked, if you want to be picky you could say the shower needed a good toothbrush deep clean. But all in all it was up to standard. One night the fire alarm went off randomly and guests had to be evacuated for safety. There was no fire, just a fluke in the system and Devan explained that to many upset guests who had to wait a few minutes in the cold. It wasn't bad, people are just dramatic. Let's be glad it wasn't a fire! It appeared a lot of folks at the hotel were there for business, one morning it appeared a company was meeting in the boardroom, I saw many truckers walking in for a nights sleep. I saw some dogs around, and many different types of people, some families. If you're in Boise for a weekend this is a more affordable place to stay, I'd give it 3.5 stars.

I don't really know why this place is rated so high. The elevator is beyond slow, so use the stairs. Breakfast, mediocre at best. Now let's get to the room. Room 301. For $180.00 I was extremely disappointed. I have a toddler so we always check the floors before we put her down. There were prescription pills on the floor and vitamins, along with little red rubber bands. This made is look closer at the whole room. Bring your own duster for sure, only the most visible surfaces get dusted. There is a hotel product bottled behind the 1st bed and tons of lint and dust back there. Looks like a dryer exploded. The bathroom floor is slate and when you step on it with bare feet, it sticks to your feet and gets tracked around the room. The tub is SLOW to drain so you stand in water, and they filled holes in the tub with yellowish junk instead of replacing it. It has chips and cracks and chunks missing. And the sink in the room was cracked as well as the faucet being loose and not attached well. The lamp shade had been crushed too. And yes the hotel is pet friendly, you can hear all the dogs barking as you walk down the hall to your room. Or when anyone else does even at ten pm. The beds are doubles so that's a negative. And I have no idea where they found beds with so much bounce. So basically we hated everything about this place. I gave 2 stars because the receptionist was pleasant in the morning.

I specifically ordered the "Business Suite" because it had a jetted tub in the listing. First impressions: room was very dated. A small old tv, wood panel on the tub, old tile in the bathroom, dim lighting. Since I specifically wanted the tub that's where I started. Got it filled up and was just about to get in when I thought I'd better turn the jets on just in case and a TON of flakes of unknown material came flying out of the jets. I emptied, rinsed and refilled the tub 3 times to see if I could rescue the situation and on the third attempt not only did more flakes come out, but a literal hairball. The only reason I didn't immediately ask to be refunded and leave was because I'd already been driving all day and it was 10 at night at this point. Next morning I was told a manager would call me by the front desk staff when I complained. I ended up calling the hotel myself 3 times and they eventually told me there would be no managers till Monday. I told them my next call would be to Corporate. The next day a manager did call, told me the flakes "must have come from the bottom of the tub" and ultimately only offered me a 25% refund. Today I got my "refund" a whopping $35 on a $190+ room that's only 18%. I will never stay here again.

Probably the worse Best Western in Idaho.

Zero maintenance, this place is falling apart, and rooms are being booked with much-needed repairs. Hard to believe the staff is not aware of the problems stated. Zero customer service. Don't complain about your room or services you paid in advance for. Horrible breakfast, go eat somewhere else.

We reserved and paid extra for the business suite with a spa tub. We had a long drive, and we were looking forward to soaking in private after a long journey. We checked in and were pleased with the room when we first walked in. The room is very spacious, with a large bathroom, sitting area, bedroom, and a large spa tub.

I filled the tub to get it ready for a much-desired soak. Tub is full, and I turned on the jets! Sounded like a meat grinder, was very loud, and had no jets.

I went down to the lobby and explained that the tub was not working and asked if they had another room with a spa tub. The front desk lady said they had another and that it would need to be cleaned. I said ok, we would go eat dinner and switch rooms when we returned. We returned and got the keys to the new room only to find that the room itself was half the size of the business suite, it was the studio suite. The tub itself was half the size of the previous one. I am 6"4' and was unable to sit comfortably in the tub.

Shortly after checking into the new room, I went back down to the front desk to ask for a refund and or discount for not getting the room and services we paid for and reserved, only to be told they were booked and that they would not discount or refund the room. At this time, it was getting late, too late to find another hotel.

Upon further time in the room, we noticed the table lamp next to the bed had a short in it with the plug and that the lamp next to the TV had a broken switch forcing us to unscrew the light bulb to turn it off. I then went to go take a hot shower only to realize the shower head was raised and pointed against the back wall with no way to adjust, preventing anyone from taking a shower without soaking and, or flooding the entire bathroom. We went to bed in a very bad mood, unshowered and dirty from our long road trip.

The next morning we went down to grab breakfast. Self-serve breakfast, as expected. The gravy for the biscuits was incredibly watered down. First time I have ever had the pleasure of using a spoon to eat biscuits and gravy.

Checked out and talked to what I believe was the manager about the conditions of the room we were switched to and again denied any kind of discount or refund even though I asked for it. I was given a number to call and complain about my stay though.

We would have been better off staying at a Motel 8 or Holiday Inn Express for a 1/3 of the price and would have been provided much better customer service if anything...

If I could give a negative number I definitely would. This hotel was not only short staffed when I checked in, but their staff is the worst. Didn't meet not one good employee with good customer service. They're disrespectful, talk over you and hang up on you on purpose. I spoke to supposedly manager Jasmine and General manager Ann, who both were rude, talked over me, terrible manners and worse than bad customer service. They had the audacity to play with me on the phone, hanging up on me and telling me that they were going to transfer me and would pretend they couldn't hear me, so childish and disrespectful. And didn't want to fix the problem they made, overcharging me for my service dog. They basically ignored me and hung up the phone. Both managers didn't apologize, they still charged me for my service dogs. Said I didn't show them documents for my support dogs, well you never asked, hello.?? Next: the room was super dirty, the minute we walked in it had a terrible smell, like the entire suite smelled like straight vitamins, it was penetrated. Then, especially the bathtub and toilet were not clean. And they told me "sorry but we don't have any pillows for you" WOW! No other rooms available not even pillows. What kind of hotel is this! Pillows , really. Then at the pool area, it was disgusting dirty and had no towels, just a bunch of dirty towels all over the floor. Will be posting pictures of all. Next: breakfast, they only serve for three hours and before those three hours are done they are already picking everything up and taking it. It was terrible there was another customer that was treated disrespectful from staff. They kept talking loudly at her in front of the rest of the us, the customers. This place was one of the most disgusting hotels I checked in and overall had a very bad experience. So please think twice before staying here your money isn't worth staying here. There is another hotel probably 5 miles down where my friends stayed and they had a wonderful experience. Please don't take service dogs here because they will charge you and are treated like garbage. The managers said that I didn't tell them about my dogs paperwork. Well I don't have to. If you ask I will show the paperwork and card. How was i going to do that if they didn't ask me anything and she also tried to make other dumb excuses. Careful because they will charge your card more than you were told when checked in, without letting you know. They charge you more after you leave the premises. I definitely don't recommend this location at all, especially for the customer service, they have none. Please take a few extra miles after this dirty rude...

I am not reviewing this hotel very highly. I understand that the hotel was under renovation, or had recently been under renovation, however...... I called ahead to ensure that there was a room on the 1st floor, as I had a broken leg that was just beginning to heal. I was told there was lots of room and to come on in. I arrived within 4 minutes (as I called from outside) and by that time, there was only ONE room remaining on the 1st floor - at the far end of the hallway, which was a BRUTAL walk - even with my leg brace. This was the ONE star I gave for "location" as it is appropriate for my circumstances. The location of the hotel itself was found quickly off of the highway, but only one restaurant delivers to the hotel (per the staff). The room had drywall that had fallen off the wall in the bathroom, leaving drywall chips and plaster dust all over the bathroom floor. The mattress was two different heights - while I lay on ONE side, the other side of the mattress was about a foot HIGHER than my side of the same bed. The pillows were the size of postage stamps. Half the lights and electrical outlets in the room did not work. The only sink in the room was a powder area (outside of the bathroom itself), and it did not drain, so brushing your teeth or washing your hands was challenging. We asked for another room, but there was nothing available on the first floor and no elevator.... and we were tired and my healing broken leg was swollen beyond recognition, so we decided to just tough it out. In the morning, i went to have a shower, only to find there was no hot water at all, so I showered with cold water. When I reached for a towel, the only towels available were paper thin..... The above is only the brief version..... and I am not exaggerating. At the front desk, when checking out - I provided these details to the person at the desk and she said "I'm sorry." I told her that I did not believe that $189/night was fair in ANY way shape or form for what was and was NOT provided. I was promised that the Manager would call me to discuss a discount, and I am not surprised that I have not received a call. If a hotel is going to do reno's, they should ensure that once the rooms are completed, they have someone go through them BEFORE allowing guests to stay .... check the walls, lights, blankets, towels, water, electrical outlets, drywall condition (especially right after a reno), heat (or A/C) and much more. The one and ONLY bright spot was the attitude of one of the front desk clerks when I first arrived...... Devon was funny, upbeat, positive and helpful. Any hotel would be lucky...
