Economy Lodge — Hotel in Bonifay

The good reviews on here are FAKE! PLEASE don't stay here! Theres even a guy that says he was PAID to leave a five star review! I NEVER leave bad reviews but The rooms are disgusting! My daughter is EAT UP in bed bug bites. At 1 am we had to switch rooms because I saw bed bugs crawling through my daughter's hair and in the bed with her. And now they are in our luggage!! The second room was just as filthy except no bed bugs but there were plenty of other dead bugs and filth! Then this morning they REFUSED to give me my money back! $50!! They refused to give it back because I got a "free room" and she said they have to pay to clean the room??! the owner sat outside and argued with me until I was in tears for half an hour!! Then after threatening to call the police she gave me $25 back!! My daughter has bites all over her legs and arms from this! There's drug addicts sitting outside all night long drinking and acting crazy! Someone even came banging on our door sometime around 3. They live there because I've seen them there a month ago. Yes I've stupidly stayed here before. The rooms were just as filthy and the ac didnt work and the screened bathroom door didn't have a handle or even close then! It's not safe here, it's not clean here and the staff is extremely rude. I begged with the owner and her house keeper to just return my money out of common decency and good customer service and they argued with me. I showed them the bites on my kid and the lady started yelling at me! My poor baby is covered in bites and I dont know how to get rid of these bugs but someone told me you have to through your suitcases out?! I really hope that's not true because then they costed me WAY more than $50! I urge you to please do what everyone else is saying and DONT STAY HERE. Stay at the Bonifay Inn- it's five minutes up the road and $5 more a night. I'm warning everyone I know...

I stayed here for over a month. I wound up leaving because the owners agreed to a weekly rate and at the last minute they changed it. The property is NOT maintained. There is all types of junk scattered all over the place. The rental office is something out of a hoarding TV show, the whole property is. My room had no bathroom door nob, a mattress that was split down the middle and my dresser had NO draws. Don't ever stay here. THERE os NO POOL. What a horrible place!! The owners purposely block off all of the parking for the restaurant patrons and guest so no one can park even though it's all in the same complex!! And the area they have blocked off with 55 gallon barrels is a wing of the motel that is junk not rentable and needs to be bulldozed to the ground.. I would never recommend anyone to stay in this dump!!
