We ran into trouble immediately while trying to book the room online (using a smart phone sitting in a gas station parking lot near by) it was originally supposed to be around $81 total after taxes. When trying to complete the booking it automatically changed it to the next day, confused by this we tried to get refunded but were refused. We had to contact customer service (trip.com) who contacted the owner or whoever runs this place & they told us we could change it to the original date that we already tried to book but would be charged an extra $20 even though that was not the price shown for the day we tried to book. Then after signing papers to check in the man at the counter asked if we had any pets which my bf replied we have a hedgehog. The man was then visibly upset & told us they are not a pet friendly establishment even though it said they were online. My bf had to pull out his phone & physically show the man where it said so on the website. So according to this man they had a no pet policy but then proceeded to charge us an extra $10 because of the hedgehog, an animal that stays in a cage & has no potential to damage a room. When everything was said & done the cost was close to $120. When we got to the room it smelled musty, had visibly dirty floors & walls, needed to be dusted badly, had no chain lock on the door, main door & bathroom door frames both looked like doors had been kicked in at one point or another & the furniture looked like someone found it by a dumpster, like literal garbage. The beds were the only thing in the room that seemed clean or kept up in any way, no bugs, which we were thankful for & the only reason I'm not leaving one star. It was conveniently located near the highway but I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, 100% not worth the price we were charged.
For context we were traveling from Tampa FL to Mobile AL, I was driving a car & my boyfriend was on his motorcycle. It was close to midnight & we had to stop cause it was getting too cold for him on the bike & we had already been traveling...
Read moreWe booked a room there and already paid for the fee only about a month ago before our visit. We got to the hotel around 10.45 pm and the experience I’m going to explain here is awful.|The hotel staff was so mean to us and they didn’t even check our booking confirmation as we walked to the front desk they said they don’t have any rooms!!|How come they are saying that when we have a booing and hotel confirmation in our hand. They started to say Expedia should have the responsibility about that they can’t do anything. They totally mean to us. I argued with them around 30 minuets. That was a crowded day in bonifay, FL and I think they sold our room to someone else for higher rate. That is insane. |After that both people in the front office (I hate to say they are Indians) went somewhere just leaving us in lobby. How rude thy treat to their customers. |I was so disappointed since I couldn’t able to find a place to stay my pregnant wife is in the car and she definitely need a rest after traveling 18 hours of traveling. The people in the front office came back after 15 min or so they didn’t care about us at all. |I understand that they are not going to help us at all I left that place and drove around for while and finally found a place to stay little far away.||But as a highlight anyone should booking this hotel should be aware of not getting a room. They are not going to care at all about your situation and that’s the most awful experience I have ever...
Read moreMade an error in judgment by deciding to stay at this hotel. After evaluating multiple Google write-ups, figured it would be an okay cheap hotel but quickly learned upon arrival those "good" reviews were obviously fake. Extremely unsanitary conditions, which lead to having to deal with a hostile & abrasive management member named "Mike" when inquiring about a refund (his name is also not Mike, it's Maheshkumar Patel). Due to concerns of contracting communicable diseases within the facility, along with the threatening nature of "Mike", we decided to leave without getting a refund. We booked through a third-party company & inquired them instead for our money back. They responded by calling "Mike" & he then lied to said company about our hotel room conditions, with further untruthfully stating we caused property damage (luckily, we had proof proving his claim otherwise). We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express instead, which was less than half a mile away from the Rodeway Inn & thoroughly enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel, our room & the friendly staff (also, got a wonderful breakfast included!). In the end, we had to pay more by switching hotels, not receiving a refund & getting charged a deposit fee from "Mike" (all refuted charges are currently in dispute).
Save yourself the time, expenses & health hazards associated with the Rodeway Inn by staying elsewhere instead. The little extra cost is worth not putting yourself or your...
