If I could give zero stars to this hotel that would still be too generous. They tried to get me to pay for a prepaid room because of a computing error on their part. I overlooked that, it happens, they solved it and I was in my room in around 15 minutes. the room itself was a fine looking room, although it had a slight smell of stale cigarettes, and the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling, and it was missing light bulbs from the bed side lamps. Again not a big deal I went down and informed them. they apologized gave me light bulbs, and put in a work order to fix the room. I was starting my training here in Atlanta and I am going to be here for 8 to 10 weeks, so I went back up to my room and went to sleep. I worked a 12 hour day the next day, and when I came back I noticed a roach, being from Florida, I didn't think much about a roach on a rainy day, I killed it,had dinner and went to bed. the next morning I killed 3 more roaches. I went down to the front desk and informed them of the problem and also thanked them for fixing the smoke detector. they apologized and assured me that they would have someone up there to spray, and true to their word they had someone come up as I was on my way to work. I'm not sure what he used but it was completely ineffective. I gave it a couple of days to work and during that time I killed probably a dozen more roaches. Keep in mind that I am working 12 hour days. I go back down after that 2 nights and I was told that they thought I was moved into another room,I explained that I wasn't. the women at the desk gave me a key to another room across the hall and told me to take a couple of days to move my stuff since I worked such long days, I thanked her and went to work. When I got home that night I decided to check out the room to see if it had any issues. So I went in looked around, checked all the lights toilet, faucets, and cracked the window to get the staleness out of the room. As I was leaving the new room, a mother with her sleeping toddler was standing perplexed in the doorway, she double checked her key and said I was in her room. We went down to the desk, and they blamed the day shift for not telling them that they had given me a new room since my old one had roaches. they gave the mother a new room, and I went back up, to start moving stuff over. At 7:30am the front desk tried to come into my room to see if I had moved yet(I'm not sure why they didn't just call or wait until house keeping did their rounds) needless to say having someone try to enter your room with chain on the door wakes you up for the day.So I went down to the front desk, they again apologized. The front staff is nice I will give this location that, but that only goes so far. Everything is going well in the new room until yesterday. I wake up to no water. I think to myself "WTH" and go down to the front desk. The man downstairs tells me that a water main broke and this part of the city is without water, and it should be restored early afternoon. I decide that I am just going to get out in nature and go to to Whitewater Creek Trail(beautiful spot to hike, and get away while still being in Atl) when I come back that evening I have water. Needless to say I had worked up quite a thirst when hiking for 4+ hours, so I drink tap water for the rest of the evening to re-hydrate. the next morning I go down for coffee, Oatmeal packs. Back in my room I figure out how I am going to spend day off number 2, i decide to go back to sleep, wake up heat up my coffee and turn on the tv. Being in a new city I decide to watch the 12 news, and find out that we have been under a water boil advisory since 1pm yesterday. no notice from the hotel, notes on the door, free bottled water, nothing. I go down and the guy at the front desk told me his manager just walked away. I go to him and his excuse is that he didn't know. he has the front desk guy bring me a few bottles of water, and at 1:15pm I get a note slid under my door. My day off is now being spent trying to get a new hotel for the remainder of my time in Atlanta.

Completely dissatisfactory customer service. Manager did not accept/honor the room reservation made thru Extended Stay America reservations corporate number over a month in advance. The online rates thru Extended Stay official website were cheaper than what the front desk would offer and 3rd party sites were even cheaper … but front desk couldn’t (or wouldn’t) honor our nightly rate confirmed via phone reservation or what online official site had listed. Asst Gen Manager Sanna Jarju was rude and dismissive. He refused to engage or assist; he directed we engage with reservations instead of offering to help or resolve: sadly indicative of non-engagement, non-assistance management style of “you have a problem, that I can’t/won’t help solve”. He simply cancelled the reservation…which was oddly convenient for the hotel; when I called Extended Stay reservations to confirm what rate I had booked and help clarify the cost disparity, they were now unable to do so because the reservation had been cancelled. This felt like a classic bait and switch game reliant upon travelers who are tired, don’t have transportation, or don’t have other options. It felty deliberately shady. The location is convenient – just minutes from Brookhaven Marta station and close to the Brookhaven/Buckhead area but that’s all it has going for it. The hotel was in disrepair: elevator out of service, entire lobby’s lower dry wall was removed and covered up with painter’s tape & plastic, 5-gallon paint bucket serving as leak collection for hose drip line from wall. It felt tired, dirty, and old.

I was thinking since this said suites it would be nice location in Buckhead, ( which is supposed to be an expensive neighborhood) but no it was not. Bianca at front desk had a great personality but other than that. When you walk in you see all types of trash at front door as seen in pictures the whole week until Friday. People sitting all around everywhere outside in parking lot and around dumpster in back. Late at night or after 10 when front desk closes. front door don’t lock, not safe for guests. Not to mention when you walk into lobby, your hit with a marijuana smell in lobby and all halls. No where on website or when you call, are you told about an $100 deposit. In most extended locations, you get pots and pans and plates, etc but not here. You’re charged $40 for pot set and $20 for plate and silverware. We stayed a week and my husband went down after third day to ask for clean towels with the old ones and was told that will be $2 to get clean ones. Really that’s not included in price. The one good thing I can say is ironing board was broke and we reported that and the one man gave us another one. Website mentioned breakfast and there is nothing. Room is storage now. The rooms are very old and carpet is filthy. The microwave was rusted in my room and I don’t think that is safe to use. Trash was by elavators and after cleaning person left floor, it was still there in the evening.

First of all the manager named sauna in the general manager the bald head guy... They cover up for each other but won't cover up for their employees who have to work longer harder different shifts. Sauna the manager the African guy allowed an employee to double, almost triple charged me. The guy with the greasy face and high top. I am a Caucasian woman but I grew up in South Africa and the fact that the younger greasy faced man was allowed to charge me three times and I could have paid for a week to get me and my children out of the streets in a better hotel environment.... I was stuck with waiting for 3 to 5 business days and having to move all over again because of the African guy and the bald-headed guy and the nice woman that worked at night was gone shortly before I left they fired her and she was the only person who helped and treated the customers with respect day and night. The very big woman that works at night sometimes is very rude and disrespectful and watches TV and smokes and doesn't do anything... I can't ask her for any sheets or towels or blankets and I even went to another location and she works there as well and when I walked away she called me "stale white woman" The African guy at the Buckhead location and the bald-headed guy and that greasy headed square head guy, as referred to buy me and my daughter and younger son because of how he addresses the customers and he is very flirtatious with every woman that comes to the door to the point where he is double and triple charging customers at the register and not realizing it until later... Later when it is too late and you have to wait till in the morning until sauna or the bald-headed man comes and they are still going to tell you three to five business days and on top of that no one wants to give you a better deal for what you were supposed to pay in the first place it is as if the managers are stealing money and blaming it on the younger or more seniority employees because the square headed guy likes to talk about all of their drama, My children and I could hear it in the hallway often.

A few months back there was a young African-American woman that was in tears and was forced to move because the shiny faced boy with the square head that works at night also stole or double-charged her and She is a business owner which caused her that she said she had to move to a more smaller and scarier hotel because of the guy flirting with her and double-charging her

The square-headed man with the shiny face flirted with me in front of my children and we have asked multiple times to write statement for situation and the manager sauna or the bald-headed guy never gave me a statement form they told me to write on a blank piece of paper

I do not choose to go to another extended stay because it is as if the good employees are getting fired and the managers and employees that have no good intentions or cannot keep their eyes or hands to themselves are winning and customers and guests are losing.

It is very unfair that the square-headed guy was fired and then returned and the young nice lady Miss Alexa, she was fired and my children were deeply saddened

with that being said I refuse to ever stay with another extended stay America in Georgia maybe in Florida they have different and higher customer service skills and great vibes and attitudes without having young greasy oily men staring down your chest with your children watching.

Sauna and the bald-headed guy are the worst hotel management staff no matter how they tried to correct or fix a situation.

they still meet you with attitude and great deal of you did something to them or causing them to have a hardship or exhausting day. Ilso witnessed the guy with the bald head the big manager apparently peeking into my room one day saying that he smelled smoke when I have never smoked inside of my room I often smoke outside. And we are rarely in our room on the weekends being we go to family members House close by.There is also rarely coffee already on time if it's not burnt . SAFTTY ISSUES ALSO...

I have been staying at an Extended Stay Hotel in Columbus Ga for the past 9 weeks or more. The staff there were professional, articulate, and very pleasant, the rooms were clean and with the exception of the bad cable package and the many annoying and upsetting disturbances by large and aggressive dogs who unbelievably are locked in rooms all day barking and wimpering, I had no other issues there.

My new job is now taking me to Atlanta GAunfortunately, I say unfortunately because I had my first encounter, via phone with the Extended Stay America location where I had just booked a week long stay at 3967 Peachtree Road, Atlanta GA, 30319, and it was not good at all.

I called with a question and the phone was answered by a gentleman who did not identify himself, so I don't know his name, but he had an accent, he immediately asked me to hold, I was left on hold for a really long time, he eventually came back, picked up the phone, then hung it up immediately without saying a word. I waited a few minutes then called back, this time he did not answer the phone with even a greeting, I told him I had just called and was asked to hold, then I asked him why he had hung up on me, he ignored my question and said what can I help you with in an abrupt manner, I asked him why he was being so unpleasant since he had hung up on me, he then hung up on me again.

I called the reservations extension and asked where I could file a complaint, the gentleman who I spoke with was pleasant professional, apologised for me having had a bad experience and asked if he could transfer me to Guest Relations, which he did, the woman who answered was almost as unpleasant as the front desk agent, the sad thing is that she did not surprise me at all, what was clear to me was that these are most likely franchises who are not Customer Service Oriented, and do not care about further tarnishing this brand, which also does not surprise me.

I have been traveling for work for almost 15 years and Extended Stay was always my go-to hotel. Unfortunately Extended Stay America has sunken to the bottom of the barrel in the last 10 years. You can now expect to have loud guests all around you, always, and large dogs that are shut in all day, alone and they will bark and wimper until they can no longer bark. ESA apparently allows large and aggressive dogs, so your safety is not a concern and locations like this one obviously, do not care about being Customer friendly, given the personalities of some of staff they hire, but they are definitely Pet friendly! I have never seen one of the dogs at the front desk paying, but they have more consideration given to them then to people paying $500 plus per week, also the pet fees that the owners pay should not make them exempt from having some consideration for the other guests staying in the hotel.

Thankfully I am almost done with traveling for work and I'm so relieved because the Extended Stay America Experience leaves too much...
