We were celebrating a friend's 50th Birthday this past weekend. When I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel, I found the website for Howard Street Guest House. It's located just about a mile from downtown Burlington. I spoke with the owner Andrea and immediately liked her laid back attitude. I booked right away. I was not disappointed.||||There are 2 suites in a converted woodshop/carriage house, and they were just charming. We stayed on the first level since it was bigger. Not only did it have the multiple beds we required, but also a large sitting area, and kitchenette area (which Andrea stocked with coffee, tea, cereal, milk and juice). The décor is bright and cheerful and the furnishings were great. We had our friends over for appetizers and cocktails one afternoon and eight of us fit very comfortably with plenty of seating.||||The yard it just as inviting as the rooms. Andrea has a true green thumb. The plants and flowers made it a great place to hang out. In fact Andrea's yard with be part of this July's garden tour.||||Andrea is a great innkeeper. No pressure, invites her guests to enjoy the property and doesn't hover or make you feel like you are intruding, but is very available if you need anything.||||I would highly recommend the Howard Street Guest House to anyone who wants extra room and wants to feel more like they are staying in an adorable cottage, rather than a...

The whole space is beautiful, and also functional.||• This guest house is great for introverts, as it offers more privacy than a traditional B&B or a hotel.||||Cons:||There was milk and cereal in the kitchenette, but the milk was 2%, which we can't drink. I would have loved if there was one more simple breakfast option, such as muffins or croissants. I do like cereal and oatmeal, but I eat it almost every day at home, so it would be nice to have something a little more special for vacation. If cereal is more practical, then I would prefer skim milk.||||Overall:||We would love to stay at The Howard Street Guest House again, if we are ever...
Read moreInnkeeper Andrea has created a lovely oasis here and her two rooms - we stayed in both! - were neat as pins and very welcoming. We stayed here as a base for motorcycling in the region for three nights and it was necessary to move to the downstairs unit for our final night to accommodate existing reservation. ||||Beds comfy, tidy bathrooms, fridge/sink/microwave kitchen, neighborhood location, easy 1/2 mile or so walk to the main part of town.||||Andrea also was very helpful in juggling our parking needs as we towed our bikes up and had a motorcycle trailer. Location was perfect and the walk downtown was just the right distance to help us work up an appetite and walk off dinner. Two...
