Nestled in the heart of Burlington's historic area, this bed and breakfast is a true gem that will captivate even the most discerning travelers. The beautiful home, meticulously decorated like a living museum, offers a unique and enchanting experience that transports guests to a bygone era. Linda, the host extraordinaire, elevates the stay from merely pleasant to absolutely unforgettable. Her warm hospitality, wealth of local knowledge, and eagerness to assist make her the perfect guide for your Burlington adventure. Whether you need restaurant recommendations or tips on local attractions, Linda is always ready to help. The backyard garden is a sight to behold, providing a tranquil oasis where guests can relax and unwind. And let's not forget the breakfast – a delicious spread that will tantalize your taste buds and fuel you for a day of exploration. One of the B&B's greatest assets is its prime location. Situated within walking distance of Burlington's most interesting places and attractions, you'll find yourself perfectly positioned to discover all that this charming city has to offer. As a solo traveler with a canine companion, I can attest that this B&B goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay for both two-legged and four-legged guests. Linda's accommodating nature and the property's dog-friendly policy made for an exceptionally enjoyable visit. In conclusion, if you're seeking a truly memorable stay in Burlington, look no further. This bed and breakfast offers the perfect blend of historic charm, modern comfort, and unparalleled hospitality. Book your stay now – you won't regret it! —

Honestly, I can't wait to return to this incredible inn. From the moment I booked a room at Made INN Vermont I felt comfortable. Linda was quick to respond to any questions I had via e-mail, and was open to us bringing our Bernese Mountain Dog puppy with us. We were stressed, tired and nervous as we were traveling to Burlington for a vet appointment. Linda made us feel welcome, and treated us as friends. She helped us with dinner plans, and let us stay at the INN the next day while we waited. She recommended lunch spots, and tours but the INN was so comfortable we spent most of the day wandering around looking at all of the fun treasures on the property with intermittently napping. Everything was FLAWLESS! From the beautiful property, Linda's fun energy, the small details that ensured we would always come back, one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, to the best breakfast we've ever had - this place is it! You have to stay here, and experience Made INN Vermont. Our room was stocked with great snacks, waters, treats for our pup, and we had access to wine as well as beautiful treats downstairs. Despite traveling under stressful circumstances, we had a wonderful time because of Linda and this great inn.

Made INN Vermont has now topped my list of places i've stayed in my travels. What a unique place in all the right ways. Linda (and her adorable friendly cat) made the stay so over the top for us sending us out with food and exploring recommendations and some Focal Bangers for the road! Breakfast was amazing and hearty- and locally sourced! The whole decor around the place was curated in the most perfectly unique ways- I think I spent most of my time there taking pictures of each detail and thumbing through the records in our room. Even better- we were stocked with beer and local snacks that we gladly tried. We had never been to Burlington before and the whole experience makes me want to come back again and again- and I won't stay anywhere else when I do! Cool, unique, and everything (and more) you could want from a stay. The only downside was we couldn't stay longer! It made for the perfect pre-birthday, new music venue band playing celebration weekend, though. THIS PLACE IS A MUST!

Made Inn Vermont is perfectly situated just on the edge of the charming campus of University of Vermont. Thanks to a small private parking area located behind the house we had no issue finding parking. When we came up to the front door we were met by a friendly young woman who promptly gave us a tour of the downstairs and showed us to our room. You’ll notice the request that you remove your shoes after coming through the front door of the house, but don’t let that fool you. This is not a place of rules. The no shoes rule (instated to protect the beautiful, old, hardwood floors in the house) is about the only rule I came across while staying at Made Inn Vermont. The home is beautiful, many of the old architectural features of the historic home are left intact, but the interior is filled with all kinds of wonderful art works, collections and artifacts. To stay at Made Inn Vermont is like staying at your cool aunt’s house except it is even cooler than hers; there is nothing you can’t have or do or use, nowhere you can’t go (except for maybe the other guest’s rooms or the kitchen where the staff prepares delectable breakfasts). You are encouraged to treat yourself, celebrate and play. It feels as though the whole place is open to you. It is chic but not in such a way that makes you feel you can’t lounge comfortably in your favorite sweatpants with a glass of wine, or snag that board game and take it up to the cupola for a stunning view of Lake Champlain. Linda and her staff employ a kind of hospitality that can only be described as radically generous. From the moment you step through the front door and remove your shoes, you are showered with offerings and options. The dining room table is spread with a free-for-all of fun, unusual candies, savory and sweet snacks, wines, beers (per VT law: all alcohol must be served by staff), coffee, teas, seltzers and filtered water. You are encouraged to take what you want and make yourself at home. Our room, 903, was described as “the little room” but it was just right for what we needed. Within its four walls it housed a full bed, a desk (stocked with everything you could need), a closet with plushy, clean robes, slippers, a mini fridge and MORE snacks atop. We were served two tallboy local craft beers, along with a handful of flavored seltzers and a carafe of filtered water. It is as though Linda has thought of not only everything you might need, but everything you might want as well. Our room had a turntable and small curated vinyl record collection as well as a flatscreen television with many streaming options. We enjoyed the best night of sleep on, and this is no exaggeration, the MOST comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. The linens were high quality, soft, crisp, clean and cool. No weird, cheap synthetic, heat-trapping bedding here. Our bathroom (located down the hall but still private with its own key) had everything. Bright clean, subway tile standing shower, clean, fresh smelling towels, soaps, shampoo, swabs, floss, dry shampoo, mouthwash, even a rubber ducky. If you forgot something, there is more in a large piece of furniture downstairs (razors, batteries, bandaids, tooth brushes, you name it.) The best surprise was the hot tub on the little terrace out back of the house. We got in late at night and enjoyed a luxurious soak before bed. Simple instructions made opening and getting into it easy. There was no litany of rules, just the simple invitation to use it whenever and be respectful of surrounding neighbors. In the morning we enjoyed a massive, delicious breakfast—made to order—of blueberry pancakes, VT maple glazed bacon, sourdough toast, a veggie scramble and rosemary home fries. Mimosas and Bellinis were offered, along with coffee, tea, juice and water. Breakfast wasn’t too early, and wasn’t rushed. We enjoyed friendly and playful conversation with Linda before checking out. We highly recommend staying at Made Inn Vermont for anyone looking to celebrate, rest and treat themselves in the...

My husband, our dog, and I recently stayed at Made Inn Vermont for a mid-week Burlington trip during our school vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and are already looking forward to returning! From the beginning to the end of our stay, the inn’s owner, Linda, was easily accessible, and ensured that we were comfortable, happy, and had all that we needed. The inn is very dog-friendly, which is an absolute must for us. Our dog, Lucy, loved that our room had dog bowls (and a mat for them to sit on) a big bottle of water, locally-made treats, and a big window so she could keep an eye on things outside- she loves people-watching! The Inn itself is located within walking distance of Lake Champlain, as well as the bustling downtown area with shops and restaurants, but in a location that is a bit quieter, which we liked.

We stayed in Room 905, which is spacious and includes a queen-size bed as well as a small sitting area. The room is cheery and bright, with 4 windows, and colorful decor (I really loved the teal headboard and yellow tulips on the table, Linda!) Each guest room has a chalkboard wall, which I was sure to add to, and a record player, which was lots of fun! We enjoyed having a bit more space to spread out, especially with a dog and the rainy weather. That isn’t to say, though, that when you stay at the MIV, you can’t spread out to other areas of the Inn. We enjoyed the enclosed widow’s walk with gorgeous views, the hot tub out back (which, my husband reported, was one of the cleanest he’s ever seen), and the living room and kitchen/dining areas.

The Inn as a whole is curated like a quirky museum with things to explore in every corner. Linda has created and maintains a spotlessly clean, creative, comfortable, and welcoming space. From the moment you arrive, Linda is a gracious hostess, greeting us at the door, giving us a tour of the Inn, and then offering a beverage such as the Alchemist’s allusive Heady Topper and Focal Banger brews for guests who are 21+ (my craft-beer loving husband was in heaven!). She showed us all around the inn, ensured that we knew our dog was welcome in any space (not the case with all other ‘dog-friendly’ inns), and made sure that we knew she was available to answer questions or meet any need that might arise.

In the dining area, Linda keeps a refrigerator with some iced teas, coffee creamers, and water, as well as a Keurig system for coffee, cocoa, or hot water for tea. She keeps a beautiful spread of high-quality, locally-sourced snacks, as well as a fun candy bar filled with all kinds of miniature treats, available at all times. While chatting with her during the afternoon over evenings, Linda graciously offered to pour a glass of wine or sangria, or a provide a can of Heady Topper or Focal Banger (alcoholic beverages are offered to guests 21+ only, of course).

There was also a mini-fridge filled with seltzers, soda, 1 Heady Topper, and water, as well as a box of fun and locally-made snacks in our room. We were appreciative of these snacks and drinks at the ready, and enjoyed not having to leave the inn in search of a snack or beverage if we so chose.

One of our favorite experiences was the delicious breakfast Linda offers. We had choices both mornings (something this picky eater very much appreciates, and notes is not always the case at bed and breakfasts). We enjoyed the scrambled eggs, country potatoes and veggies, maple bacon, and fresh berries. The second morning, I was delighted to find out that the kitchen staff was serving creme brûlée french toast, which was absolutely delicious!

Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at the Made Inn Vermont, and can’t wait to get back. We would highly recommend the Inn for couples, families, dog-owners, or individuals looking to stay in a comfortable spot with lots of...

To begin, we felt as though the tides were turned against us. COVID forced us to post-pone our European wedding ceremony and honeymoon, then cancel our plan b (road trip), and then on the way up to Vermont (plan c, where we knew was safe enough to travel) our a/c stopped working entirely with our tiny dog in the back! Mid August (95 degree day) on the highway during a four hour drive!

Ambiance: When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Linda and her assistant Sarah. They made us smile when we didn’t think we could. The inn is absolutely stunning. Linda’s design skills are quirky, eclectic, and just gives you that feeling like you could stay a bit longer. The inn itself is as romantic as you could get for a couple on their “would-be” wedding day. The cupola made for a great night with a couple glasses of wine and a view of Lake Champlain.

All-Inclusive: Our favorite part of this all-inclusive stay, because we’re mid-20s and celebrating our lives, was the booze!! Upon arriving, we found our fridge stocked with heady topper, focal banger, and another delicious, dark beer that we can’t recall the name of. Each day, when the room was cleaned, we’d find even more in the fridge. With breakfast, we enjoyed bellinis. With lunch, we enjoyed a margarita. In the hot tub, we enjoyed Prosecco. We had ourselves a stay! Other than that, the breakfast was included in the price and so was the hot tub soak which was surprisingly nice on the coolest night of our stay (60 degrees) after two days of hiking, Olive could stay without charge, and snacks and treats galore!

Add-ons: We added on the “last minute romance” package to have a reserved night in the hot tub (we had the place to ourselves but I’m confident it would be worth it to reserve if other guests were staying as well), a bottle of Prosecco, and chocolate covered strawberries. Well worth it on the night we were supposed to be getting married.

Pets: Not to mention that we could bring our Olive with us at no cost! She was well treated during our stay. Linda and her staff provided her food bowls, a leash, potty bags, toys (her personal favorite), and bags of healthy snacks that I’d even buy her myself. By the end of our stay, Olive thought she owned the place and Linda was of great humor about it. With our permission, Linda made sure to plate up extra bacon and eggs for Olive each morning which was very thoughtful.

Breakfast: Each morning we looked forward to the flavorful, hearty, freshly cooked breakfast Linda made for us. My Fiancée even asked me this morning from bed if I was going to make him “Linda’s breakfast”, so thanks for that Linda 😉 you’ll need to send me the spices you put on the country potatoes and the recipe for the maple bacon because I think he dreamt about it last night.

Inn-Keeper: We have had extensive travels around the world, and not to be dramatic, but Linda was the most attentive and thoughtful inn keeper we’ve ever stayed with. Her attention to detail and drive to keep us happy made the difference on this trip. She goes the extra mile for her guests. She loves what she does...
