We arrived at the hotel to be told to take the stairs to our room on the 2nd floor. I explained to the man that I was disabled and would not be able to get my bags up the stairs and would need to be on the first floor. He scolded me for not requesting a handicap room in booking (though I don’t need a handicap room, I just need an elevator like every hotel I’ve ever been in has) eventually he found me a room on the first floor, complaining regularly that he had to make the exception. We didn’t stay at the hotel too much, just to shower and sleep mostly. For two days, housekeeping did not come to our room. I did have the do not disturb sign out one morning, but had removed it while housekeeping was still there. The second day, I made sure to not have the sign out, and housekeeping still did not come. On Wednesday 22 November, I noticed a (probably dead) roach on the floor in the bathroom. I told the man at the front desk that housekeeping didn’t come and he blamed me, saying my do not disturb sign was probably out, which it was not. I also mentioned the roach on the floor, and he blamed the plumbing, that they sometimes get in through there and it’s just the bathroom. Another man, much more kind than the one who is normally there was very helpful. He apologized, sprayed the bathroom with roach stuff and took out the trash, and offered to do a full room cleaning, but I said the trash was fine - to at least not attract more bugs. This same day, my son and I also noticed little bites all over our bodies, where our pajamas didn’t cover. I didn’t think too much about it at the time. I came back to the hotel that evening and saw a live baby roach on the nightstand. I went to let the front desk know and they offered to move me into a room upstairs, but I’m still disabled and cannot do the stairs. I told him no that I just wanted out of the infested hotel. the hotel only offered me 2 days refund - but it was 3 nights that were taken off the booking. So I, a disabled vet, and my 9 year old son had nowhere to sleep on our vacation. As we were discussing sleeping in the car, a relative at least allowed us to sleep at their home. As I packed my stuff up in the hotel, I saw so many more roaches and realized how bad the infestation was. Because of that, I had to throw away my luggage and food, take all my clothes to the laundry mat, sanitize my rental car and place roach traps in the car in a fear that I had spread them through luggage and clothing in the hotel. Roaches were in the nightstand, dresser, bathroom, as well as on the door of the room.
Do not stay here. They definitely have roaches, and I’m fairly certain bed bugs as well because of the bites all over my son and I.
I have included photos of the bites and some of the roaches, to include the one right on the door...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE My husband and I had to go to Butler Mo for a funeral. Not to many places to stay. I was not expecting a luxury hotel but I do require it to be clean. Our room was nasty. Trash from the last people that stayed was the least of it. The coffeepot, ice bucket, walls, and mirror were all filthy. The bathroom floor was so sticky that you could hear it when you walked on it. Lights didn't work nor did the clock radio. It was late and we were tired so called the manager and he told us he would give us another room and that he was sure our room had been cleaned because he had looked it up and the cleaning lady had signed something that said it had been cleaned. I went and checked the new room and told him it was acceptable. (not much cleaner than the first room). We packed our things and moved to the new room to discover that there was no heat on in the room. The temp outside was 12 degree! The next morning we couldn't wait to get out of this place. Once again when I complained there was no apology only an excuse. I was told that the heat was never turned on ahead of time because he had a $4000 light bill. NOT MY PROBLEM!!!! When I ask for a discount, I was told I didn't have to stay there. The room was not expensive but you couldn't pay me enough to stay...
Read moreMy Family’s stay at this Days Inn in Buffalo, Missouri was a terrible experience. When we arrived to check in, there was no one at the front desk or answering their phone. My mother had to call 3-4x to WAKE UP someone. We eventually got our key card and tried to open our door, but it turns out there was already someone inside that we had just bothered. We let the desk person know our dilemma and we get into our new room with ease and go to sleep. Later in the night we are woken up by someone trying to get inside our room, they managed to open the door so our light turned on automatically ( thankfully we locked the overhead lock). This stranger was explain to my family that this is her room and her suitcases should be in there. This of course freaked us out since the room was empty when we got inside. We go back to sleep when the commotion had stopped and around midnight we get awoken by house keeping saying that they didn’t check the drawers when cleaning the room and needed to come inside and get the last guests belongings. To finally end this story, I want to say the room was nice and the price was great for 4 adults, but this Days Inn had complications and tons of complaints from other guests that we heard the whole time...
