I stayed at this place for several nights. The motel is on a main road. However behind it is mostly woods and preserve and across the street is a large lake. I had a room on the second floor that faced the road. Despite being a busy road the road noise was very contained by the sliding glass doors. The room had a nice balcony with a couple chairs that you could sit outside. Rooms were decent sized and fairly modern but more importantly they were extremely clean. I have over 40 years in the cleaning industry and the corners, the top of the baseboard, etc. I found no evidence of neglect as far as cleaning. Floors were not carpet however, they were a rubberized floor, which I personally prefer as those are easier to clean and disinfect over carpet. But this could be a letdown for some. It is s not in the main end of town, however there are several good restaurants, a small drive-through coffee shop and a McDonald's as well as several gas stations within 1/4 of a mile It is eight minutes to the other side of town where the Meijer store and the other shops and stores. It is an easy drive. Seemed like a nice area and was very quiet. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They did everything possible to make our stay pleasant. The only downside I had is it appeared to me that the outside entrance doors are not locked at night. Someone did man the desk 24/7, however even though there are cameras in the hallways, a couple of the entrances on the opposite side of the motel were very secluded. Other than that I definitely enjoyed my stay and most likely would book this...
Read moreI made a reservation online, and received an email confirmation prior to my arrival date. I was 3 1/2 hours from home and when I got there, they gave me a key to another person's room. It was a little weird to walk into a room and see that there are suitcases and clothing still in the room. I went back to front desk and they didn't have any room for me. I was lucky enough to have friends also, staying there so I crashed with them. They were a married couple; it was a little awkward, but I made due. I was kind and very understanding simply because I ended up finding alternative arrangements.
I went back later to speak to the manager and saw a man in the office who was talking on the cell phone, wasn't really sure who he was, but turns out he was the manager. He wasn't wearing anything that indicated he worked for the hotel (no shirt, no badge, etc.) and WHILE THE PHONE IS STILL UP TO HIS EAR, he asks if he can help me. He apologized, but when I inquired about a comp night in the future, he said no but that to let him know if I come back and maybe I could get a discount. He never asked for my name or any other information.
I was several hours from home and wasn't going to turn around, so I sucked it up, kept a positive attitude and made it work; however, I was very disappointed at the lack of customer service and professionalism.

Read moreI have to admit I was a bit leery about staying at this hotel especially when we first arrived. It looked like an older hotel. We chose this hotel to save some money during the peak Fall color season since most hotels overcharge during this season. I was totally satisfied with the price, but was hoping I was going to be jiust as satisfied with the hotel. The hotel had outdoor and indoor entry. We came in through the outdoor entry and was completely satisfied. It looks like the hotel had been remodeled recently. The bedding was very nice as was the carpet. You could tell the hotel was older by how the bathroom looked, but it was clean. The room had the basics, but for just traveling through without paying high prices it was perfect. If you are reserving more than one room for a party of people, there is a door to the adjoining room. Our neighbor a few doors down had a grill which is the nice thing about having the outdoor entry. There is no pool or coffee maker in the rooms, but if you don't care about added luxuries then this hotel is perfect for you. There is a hair blow dryer in the bathroom. The continental breakfast wasn't much just bagels, cereal, and pastries. The staff is real...
