This may be long, but please read for a full explanation.
We were booked at another hotel down the street (I will keep the name of this hotel to myself) for Saturday and Sunday nights. Before we booked our original hotel stay, we were looking at the pictures online and were expecting a large Jacuzzi tub (one that could fit 2). When we got to our room, we were greeted with a Jacuzzi tub, but one barely large enough for one adult. Not only that, but we didn't even have a mini fridge, we had a micro fridge.
My wife was so disappointed as this was our first getaway in quite some time and we both DESPERATELY needed to get away and reconnect with each other.
While I ran out to get some groceries, my wife tried to make lemonade from lemons by trying the Jacuzzi tub. The water wasn't even hot... tepid at best. Then to kick it off, the Jacuzzi didn't even turn on. So no relaxing bath for her.
Since I was already out and knowing already how disappointed my wife was, I looked online and then drove over to Cambria Landing as it showed 1 room available with a "large spa tub".
I met the Assistant General Manager David in the lobby. I told him our situation. He had me follow him to this bungalow room. He said they weren't planning on renting out that room because the carpet was soaked the night before. However, the tub was EXACTLY what my wife was hoping for. Thankfully the floor was dry as well.
David set us up for the two nights there and gave us a great rate on the Sunday night. It ended up being about $75 more than the other hotel and was PRECISELY what we were hoping for.
I called my wife, and told her we were changing hotels. Drove back over to our original hotel, promptly had the on-duty manager cancel our stay, collected our things and my wife, and then proceeded to enjoy our time on the coast in our room.
Now for an honest review of the room.
The negatives; It is a little dated. The carpet is well worn, especially around the thresholds and the tub. There is a legit mini fridge in the room but I can tell there has been water damage (likely from it "defrosting") in the cabinet it sits in as I can see and smell the molding wood. It didn't affect our food in the fridge at all. Tolerable compared to the micro fridge we had at the other place for sure. The bedside lamps have plugs built into them. Mine however, was not tight enough to power either my CPAP or my cellphone charger. I ended up unplugging the light and plugging in those items directly into the wall. The cable system didn't work (or I couldn't get it to work), but that didn't matter as I used my hotspot to stream to our FireStick. The plastic housing in the fan in the bathroom is cracked and yellowed. Still works fine though.
As bad as all that might sound, let me share... The positives; That tub is perfect for 2 people to soak in FOR HOURS! The bubbles make it SO nice. Instant hot water and I mean hot! Well... within a few seconds at least. Not the tepid crap at the other place. The king bed was VERY comfortable. Pretty sure it was inner-spring and normally, my back gets pretty messed up on those (we're spoiled and have a memory foam mattress at home). We both slept well. Our room had a partial ocean view, and an AMAZING outside front patio with a great ocean view. The Assistant General Manager David, was OUTSTANDING!! We could not have made this stay without his help.
Bottom line, I am looking forward to our staying at Cambria Landing again in the future. Excellent service!! We have found a new favorite place to stay on the coast!
Thank you David! You've made a...
Read moreOur stay was very nice. Access to the beach was easy, just right across the street.| We arrived late, close to midnight so we had to go to Fogcatches inn, which was okay with us. We drove in from the south entrance so far catchers in was the first hotel we actually came to, Cambria landing in is roughly three buildings down from there, heading in a North direction. We did inquire, in person at the front desk of the Cambria landing Inn, about adding another night to continue our stay at the Inn. The amount was us if I were to look it up online and do it myself. This is also before my checkout. We were kind of looking for more of a discount, seeing we were trying to add to our original stay at the Inn. Maybe a returning guest type discount or something that counts towards adding extra nights, like a rewards program. |Did not get a chance to try the room service from the cow tipper, we decided to go to the cow tipper but they were closed at the time. ||Cell phone service is not that good but using Wi-Fi calling you can do whatever you need to do.| One jacuzzi tub did not work as far as the motor or pump, the other did, unfortunately it was already being occupied. So we used the one that did not work with the pump and found fiberglass hairs on my swimwear after scratching and definitely needing to rinse in the shower.|We did enjoy the push the green button fire pits out front, watching all the people walk and ride past. Seeing all the travelers and their commotion and just watching the ocean! Turning off from the one heading north, you make a left and a quick right to get onto moonstone Drive. However, if you do not make that quick right, you would continue straight then a curve followed by a few more you come to a park. Continue that road, basically until it ends, and there is a parking area even handicapped accessible parking. It will lead to a walking trail along with the call the bluffs or also known as The bluff trail. Lots of artwork there's a new walkway being built there's trails off to the left off to the right up the hill down the hill. Less people than the main walking trail along the moonstone Drive. This is if that matters...
Read moreUPDATE March 2025 🐛 When we arrived, the room was dirty. There was hair in the shower and bathtub, and dirt, hair, and dust all over the floor. I also discovered a live insect and its droppings in one of the drawers; I have no clue how housekeeping could miss that. I have photographs to document this if necessary. Late at night, we turned on the TV, but it wasn't working. The bed could use a upgrade along with new pillows. Manager David Pulliam was very helpful in getting everything cleaned after I reported the issues. I added more pics 📸
2023 March We stayed in suite 300 with the full ocean view and hot tube for 20th Anniversary trip!! 🍷🍷 On our drive up from Riverside we got a call explaining the hot tub was broke 😢 🙁 They offered a discount on the room or a cheaper room 👌 We decided to stay in our room with the discount.
In the past my family was in the professional janitorial business so we noticed lots of things that needed some major cleaning and sanitizing. We had to became the 🤔 cleaning services 🧼🧽🫧 👎
Underneath some of the furniture, bed 🛏️ was crumbs and a few hair balls. 👎 Also spider webs 🕸️ and dust in some corners of the ceiling just as it was last year. 👎 The two single sofa seats where very dirty from human oils and other stains. They need to be replaced or professionally cleaned 🦠👎
The last day of our stay we noticed the RIPPED OLD SHEETS. The rip was towards the very bottom of the bed I'm not sure if that was on purpose. We let the receptionist know at checkout but at that point what can be done 🤔 SEE PICTURES 🖼️ 🤢
In the future we might give this place more stars if some major improvements are made. Seems like the room was in the same condition from our last visit in early 2022 The main positive was the scenery, absolutely breathtaking 💎!!! Not a better view on the street!! 🌊 The staff was nice, friendly and...
