This was probably the most unfriendly Hilton property we have ever stayed at. We arrived around 8/9pm and there was no one on the counter. Upon looking in the side room there was a girl on the phone with head phones on that came very reluctantly to check us in. There was a precarious and wobbly sanitizer stand right in front of elevator buttons that immediately fell down when I tried to press the elevator button and the dispenser came apart. My husband told the said lady that it fell. She ignored him and tended to the other person behind us. Instead of asking if everyone was ok and it didn’t fell on somebody or hurt anyone she totally ignored everything. But didn’t fail to call us 5 min later in our room, to tell us she will charge it on our card! I went down to have a chat and she was very rude. I did remind her to provide good customer service. I received a curt and snarky “noted” ( I asked her name but would not mention here out of respect!) Got a call not 10 min later in the room that it still dispenses and we won’t be charged. Could have checked that before getting yourself in a mess. We were not once greeted coming in and out of the hotel by the front desk staff during our 4 day stay, who it seemed were very good at ignoring guests. When we said good morning or hey, we received a short and curt answer without eye contact, smile would be asking too much! We interacted with 4 people during our 4 day stay and same story. Even their dressing was unprofessional. The first girl who checked us in, was in sweat pants and hoodie. The guy who checked us out with his pants falling down and underwear hanging out. (I wish I was exaggerating but I’m not. I could see his red underwear!) the breakfast was prepackaged and barely there. Not refilled everyday. There can be plenty of options in prepackaged stuff too! The only nice and friendly person was one of the cleaning lady. We were never asked if we needed a refill of toiletries or new towels or anything. On our last day there were people above our room that were extremely loud. It seems they were jumping, running and throwing things. It was so bad that I got up from sleep. I reported this to the front desk and did it get better? NOPE! They kept at it for another 2 hours!! Our room was next to the elevator and every-time someone used the elevator there was a loud cracking and gerring noise that disturbed our sleep. Beds were comfortable but what’s the point when you can’t sleep because of the noise. A long day hike at the Guadalupe mountains and than can’t rest because of all of this! I’m so very disappointed by...
Read moreThis hotel's customer service is amazing. My mother and I were stranded in Carlsbad and these people made it so much better. The only rooms available were very pricey, but that is mostly due to the recent housing shortage in the town. The room itself was wonderful. The room we rented was a double queen for $437 after taxes. It had a roomy bathroom, many outlets for charging devices, one of the larger mini fridges, a microwave, and dish TV. They had complimentary coffee in the lobby; popcorn and chocolate chip cookies in the evening; and tea, water, and strawberry lemonade in the evening as well. I visited the pool in the evening (about 7pm local) and there was no one there and it was quite warm. Great for doing laps. They have a great breakfast selection from 6am to 11am. What stood out to me was the desk clerks. They all had a great positive attitude and when they hears were stranded without a car they got our room ready 2 and half hours before check in so we could nap. One of the clerks even offered her car so we could see the Carlsbad sites. The people who work at this hotel are good people and made my mother abs myself feel safe and secure after an awful event. Even the sheriffs in this town are kindhearted. The sheriff who gave us a ride into town later called us to make sure we found a nice place to stay. Even though it was expensive, I would definitely choose this...
