Rent price wouldn’t be too bad if living conditions were better. Just spoke with manager at front office about a work order my wife turned in that morning about air conditioner not working and temp was rising to which he replied its NOT that warm which it wasn't but i pay the electric bill i should have it at a temp IM comfortable in. When i went back to tell him that I realized the outside unit fan was not turning on he said he would turn in a work order to which i asked if he would be out that evening and he said no because that employee had already left for the day which is fine…. But i had already told the maintenance guy that morning when he came to replace the filter that the A/C wasn't working correctly and it should have been fixed then but it wasn't. The sewage is always backing up and it takes them days to get it fixed. And the last and probably most frustrating thing is the poorly built apartments, im a downstairs tenant and expect some noise but i can literally hear the neighbor pulling their dining room chairs out. If it wasnt for the fact that my family had just moved and didnt want the hassel of packing and unpacking we wouldnt have renewed our lease but considering we probably would be moving towns soon it didnt feel worth it. People running the front have terrible attitudes...

The Avalon Apartments smoking policy poses a great risk for their non-smoking residents, especially those with health concerns. While residents should have complete autonomy in their choice to consume tobacco products, the use of these products should not in any way affect or be known by neighboring tenants. Designated smoking areas should be provided at the complex in locations with proper airflow and maintenance. Tenants with pets, small children, of advanced age, or that are pregnant, should not be subjected to the harmful side effects of tobacco products in or around their homes. The COVID-19 epidemic also demands that further precautions be taken to protect at-risk populations from respiratory distresses including those caused by tobacco products. It is astonishing that Avalon Apartments management would be so flippant in their care of non-smoking residents, whilst protecting tenants that use tobacco products in a manner that is extremely dangerous to individuals around them. Specifically, management chooses to hide behind their dangerous policies and refuses to inform potential tenants that they will be living in an apartment complex that reeks of tobacco smoke and with cigarette butts on the ground, accessible to pets...

Management was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. Aja was good but left unexpectedly. Had nothing but issues once she left, couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone, no one was in the office and even though I left multiple phone calls and emails to management, still have not received any kind of response as to why I haven’t gotten my deposit back or ANY of it. We made sure to clean the apartment completely and nothing was damaged.... so shouldn't we get atleast something back?Apartment was alright but had its issues, no hot water when we moved in and half the outlets didn’t work. Only cable/internet offered is "Windstream" which was a terrible experience by itself with our internet constantly not working and the speeds being terrible. I'm from PA and honestly this was by far my worst housing experience considering i was paying 1800$ a month for a two bedroom that was supossed to be worth the higher price tag compared to the rest of Calrsbad. I've travelled alot for work over the last three years and overall terrible experience and I would say not worth the extra money...
