I needed a place to stay for 2 nights while participating in a walking event held in several small towns in Missouri. After looking at the distance between the cities and the hotel prices, etc. I decided to stay in Carollton and I picked La Bella based on the reviews. During my stay, I had interaction with 4 different employees, and 3 were especially friendly while the fourth was fine but perhaps less outgoing. ||||This little roadside motel is very clean. Pictures on their website of the rooms are current, so no surprises. My single room did not have a refrigerator, but was plenty spacious for my needs. Actually, it was bigger than I anticipated, although not huge.||||I enjoyed the free bottle water and complimentary packaged brand name snacks available at the front desk. Staff provided little baggies of ice if needed. ||||The hotel is convenient to several restaurants - a local Mexican, Sonic, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, a couple of gas stations, and a Shopko and another grocery type store. Most people would drive to these places, but if one was feeling energetic walking was not totally out of the question, although some would require crossing some busier streets.||||One evening I enjoyed the cool air and sitting at the picnic bench in the front of the hotel chatting with another traveler.||||I brought my own hair dryer for convenience in case they were not available in each room or on site, however a note in the room said dryers, irons and ironing boards, etc. were available at the office The office is only steps away. ||||Once I figured out how to program the air conditioner, it worked great.( I didn't see written instructions and was too tired/lazy to ask the staff.) It has a remote control with pictures that matches the pictures on the buttons on the unit. ||||The room was very clean and had a modern, sleek vibe to it. The rooms and lobby were obviously totally updated recently. Although the craftsmanship may be a bit rough around some of the edges if you are used to big city workmanship, it certainly did not mar my stay in any way. Very clean, lots of notes from management in the room welcoming comments, and offering amenities. It's obvious the owner cares about the property and hotel patrons.|||| I would not hesitate to recommend La Bella or stay...
Read moreJust no. My standards are not super high when looking at hotels. I want a clean room, the bed I expect, and for it to meet building standards. I will say that the room was clean, the flooring is nice, and the bathroom appeared to be recently remodeled. I came expecting the advertised king beds. They didn't ask what size bed or room we wanted, so we assumed it would be a king given the marketing and local suggestions. Boy were we surprised to show up to a full sized bed. Not only is it simply but big enough for two adults to lay down on, it's one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I have ever slept on. You could literally feel each individual spring. The bathroom doesn't meet building code. The toilet was 2-3 inches from the wall and from the sink. Building code says 12-15 inches is standard, not 2-3. Not sure what can be done, but it makes for an extremely uncomfortable experience. With the remodel, I would expect the hotel to meet the bare minimum standard, but it doesn't. There was no room to really sit on the toilet. I planned on staying several nights, but booked at another hotel across town because of how uncomfortable and small...
Read moreIt's the most comfortable I've ever been in a motel! I didn't interact with the staff during check-in, but the attendant was friendly when I returned my key. The rooms were stunningly clean; I even drove by heading to work while the cleaning lady finished clearing my room. In addition, the beds were comfortable. There was a surprising amount of space in the rooms: a desk, cable TV, microwave, refrigerator, and full-sized shower. The walls were incredibly thin; I could hear the person in the room next to me snore and their choice of media consumption, but the city of Carrollton is quiet, and it was easy to fall asleep. Oh, the air conditioner is loud but keeps the room very cool. You'll be able to see your vehicle parked directly in front of your room, but the town feels relatively safe. La Bella Motel is the best motel experience I could have asked for. It sets a standard for...
