El Toro — Restaurant in Carrollton

I stopped here during a visit to Carrollton and the food was very good. I was not a big fan of the chips compared to other Mexican restaurants I've gone to but the food was good. I don't know if they were busier than normal that day but my soft drink was completely empty and no one bothered to ask if I wanted a refill. I had to go ask for one. It's a strange thing but the menus always seem to have the same items with the same names of specials no matter where you go in this country. I chuckled when I saw they had the Speedy Gonzales. Honestly, the only issue I had was the salsa. It was the worst salsa I've ever had anywhere. It tasted like a blend of marinara and bloody mary mix. I was surprised that the food turned out decent. Did I mention how awful the salsa was? No chunks, peppers, etc..just runny and pastey...with an aftertaste of a bad prank. I looked around for hidden cameras for whatever reality show I may have been on. Maybe the food wasn't that good? Maybe its just that the salsa was so bad, that it made everything else seem good. I hope they get it right..I love Mexican food and this is the only place...

I placed my order online. Picked up within 10 minutes and took it to my office. I picked it up at 11:56am and made it to my office to eat it at 12:07pm.
