This place is very misrepresented by the outdated and enhanced photos on their website to make everything look bright and new. See traveler photos in other reviews to see how dark the rooms, hallways and common areas are. It’s run like your staying at a family’s house who is conserving on everything at your expense. |We booked based on the positive reviews which is really concerning. In reality this is a 1990 hotel that made some renovations a long time ago and even those now look aged and outdated. Stayed here for three nights and wish we could have cancelled after checking in. We have stayed at other Hampton’s in Los Angeles and this one is by far below standards. |Unfortunately I booked with a third party and was not able to get a refund or provided any upgrades due to my disappointment. Do yourself a favour and book directly with hotel and ensure you can get a refund so you can see for yourself.|Room is small with awkward and limited storage against back wall of room. Limited walking space for a family it’s not much space and very dark inside along with dark furniture and only lamps available for lighting. Beds were comfortable and daily housekeeping available daily. The air conditioner runs all night and is not quiet. Our room faced the front parking lot/pool and you could hear the cars from the highway especially early morning.|The bathroom is a corner style small countertop with no room to store your items and enough space for only one person at a time. The mirror was all scratched up along with stains on ceiling of tub area. They only provide two large towels and only replace each day with two at a time, very annoying when you reserve for four people. You have to go down to front desk to ask for more towels each time. Additional hand soap is only left if you toss the one from the day before. ||There is no safe in the room, nor is there one you can use at the front desk so we had to take our valuables with us at all times. This is not acceptable in today’s standards especially for this area which is not the safest, they also have security at the doors at night. ||The breakfast area is very small especially where the food items are. People always in your way or blocking the food while waiting for their toast or waffle. Food is the same thing every morning (microwaved pre-made watery eggs and bacon or sausage). They don’t cook anything on premises as they don’t have a stove. If you don’t go early there is no room to sit, if you don’t mind sitting on old and stained chairs (see photo). There are tables and chairs in their website photos that are actually not there because there is no room.||Several light bulbs were out in hallways and close to the elevators, they turn down the lights at the reception in the evening which makes it look even darker (I have never seen this before). ||Need an actual key from reception if you plan to use the pool and not much of a fitness center (we didn’t use either). If your used to staying in hotels and not motels or looking for then a really basic place place to sleep then this may not be...
Read moreI stayed here for business at the end of June 2023. ||I checked in on the Hilton App, but I must have chosen a wrong room, because I was assigned a handi-acessible room. The wonderful front desk agent quickly changed that and assigned me a room facing the opposite of the freeway on the 4th floor. Elevators are right in the lobby, and took me directly to the room.||Room was very nicely appointed. It had a very large tv, ample workspace, a very large window, and a nice closet for my clothes. There was a standard coffee maker, but many more cups than normal. While small, I thought this was a nice touch because of staying there 4 nights. The bed was perfect. Exactly what I'd expect from the Hampton Inn brand. Pillows were prefect and made my night that much better. The bathroom seemed oversized. It was an odd corner shape that I have not seen before. It allowed a significant amount of space if two people wanted to get ready together in the morning. My biggest complaint, would be not enough hooks for towels, swimsuits ect.||Breakfast was your standard Hampton Inn breakfast. It usually alternates every day for a change up. This week I had the maple sausage, the flat italian syle sausage, the mini omelet. There is the normal coffee, tea, juice and milk. I didn't see any water. Maybe thats an item you can get from the front desk.||Pool was heated. It was very clean in and around. The hot tub was perfect, and gave a nice relaxing ending to my day. The light in the tub was not working, which made it seem dark, but not an issue at all.||There were active security guards on site. I'm not entirely sure why, but maybe it gives others a sense of security. I felt this area was very safe for myself and my car.||Overall, this was a very nice hotel. I will definitely stay here again. ||Props to the owners. they were very active on-site. Perhaps they just purchased it, but I think they have done a great job at keeping it...
Read moreWe've stayed at this hotel a couple of times when visiting family in the area. It's been very clean on each visit, which is the main thing I look for. It seems pretty updated. Rooms are quiet. Normally in other hotels I get angry at the people in surrounding rooms, but never hear people next to us, above or below us, so that's a super plus for me. We only hear people if they're loud in the hallway, but it barely happened. Maybe we've just been lucky with the other guests, but I think there is good soundproofing between rooms compared to other hotels.
It is next to the highway, which we heard on our most recent stay, that was on the road side of the building. I didn't notice it on the other side, but last time the AC was running the whole time, so it could have drowned it out.
We also stay here because they are one of the few hotels that allow dogs. Not much area for a dog to do business, but it's not a big deal since we go to our family's home and neighborhood immediately in the morning after breakfast.
Breakfast, I would consider above average since they change up the meat and eggs throughout the week. I enjoy the Southwest omelet quite a bit when they have it, and the diagonally sliced sausages. They have the oatmeal and stuff and waffle maker things as well.
I used the gym on my latest visit just to run. Small gym with the basics. Dumbbells, benches, med ball, mat, a Peloton, and some treadmills. They have towels, a little water station, and cleaning wipes. My only issue is I wish the wall the bike/treadmills face had a plain wall or a mirror, because the wall paper really messed with my eyes every time I looked down at my stats or tried to adjust speed. Very disorienting, at least for me.
My only real qualm about the room is the low water pressure in the shower. Also it would be nice if it had a fan for the steam.
But yeah, we'll probably keep staying here and hopefully we won't be priced out...
