I give them no stars. I booked my reservation online, we arrived and couldn't get in our room because the keys didn't work, we were moved to a different room because the staff couldnt get in the room either. Once in the 2nd room the TV did not work in there, we were then moved to our 3rd room at 12am in the morning where we find out the AC doesnt work. I'm so tired at this point I dont want to move a 4th time this late so I tell them we will move in the morning since my daughter had to be up at 6am for a basketball tournament. I get ready to take a shower before I lay down and guess what NO TOWELS, had to wait for staff to search other rooms to find us some towels. So after a 4 hour sleep we get up and was told breakfast was from 4am to 9, we stopped by at 7:25am and no breakfast bags made at this time, we couldnt wait for them to be made because the tournament started at 8am. When we returned from the first game I stopped at the front desk to speak to the lady up front who says she was the manager, Tammy...by the way who was very rude, mean, much attitude, ugly tone, and not friendly at all when speaking to customers. She even continued talking about us as we walked up the stairs to her cleaning ladies about our complaints as if we were in the wrong. She told me she was never informed of any of my issues and will not do anything to make it right for me, I asked for her manager and she gives me a 800 number to Wyndham the company that owns it. I will make sure everyone I know, knows how horrible my stay was at this place so they never attempt to stay here and will continue to speak out on every yelp, google, and any internet site about the experience here until I'm heard since she refuses to give me a number to speak with someone! I dont know if they are all like this but the one in Cedar Lake, IA ran by manager Tammy is horrible in every way!!! 1st time in this state and NEVER would imagine such a horrible stay everything but the hotel experience was good. Staying at this place was the worst part about the entire trip, thanks Tammy for not going above and beyond to help a customer who travels states away to stay here, your truly valuable management material YEAH RIGHT!!!! Fire her she does not give your company a good name!!!! The young lady who was trying to help us upon arrival at 11:30pm -12:00am was absolutely kind and kept trying to help us to get things right by moving us and doing all she could. Tammy she take people skills and think about a different career because clearly this is...

First things first, the only reason we stayed here was because all other hotels close to the Airport were booked solid and my sister panicked in booking 2 rooms…
After a 40 minute wait of trying to get our reservation worked out, we were finally give our room keys and it only went downhill from there.
1st: we requested a nonsmoking room but the burn marks in the carpet, bedspread and blanket along with the pungent smell of Pall Malls were all the evidence needed to determine that was not the case for this “nonsmoking” room. If its been smoked in, don't lie about it. Just take the sticker off the door.
2nd: the dog collar hanging from the light may have seemed like a nice touch but we didn't think so. If you dont notice that when you are cleaning a room, you really have to question how well they are cleaning these rooms at all.
3rd: the fitted sleets in both rooms may have been washed but stained sheets isn't something that anyone would want to sleep on. I bet the owner wouldn't sleep on them either…
Some would say, “did you give them a chance to make it right?” Well to answer that I will tell you that yes I did report it but they had no other doubles available but they did give me an automatic air freshener… At the same time, lets just be real, they know the conditions of their rooms and they book them anyway.
Final thoughts, the fact that Wyndham keeps their name on this establishment is quite appalling. I Guarantee you that I will have second thoughts about staying in a Wyndham establishment again. They will be hearing about this… and the probably the health department too.
On the bright side the air...
Read moreI have never seen a motel so awful in my life. We booked ahead of time for both our arrival night from the airport and for our return night before leaving to go home. It is really close to the airport, and because the flights to and from Maui arrive really late and leave really early, it is convenient to stay on the arrival night and the evening before the morning return trip. We were idiots, and after that first night, we should have canceled and found other lodging. It is an outhouse, to put it nicer than what I want to say. The first night we were met with broken lamps, missing light bulbs, dirty carpets and half used shampoo bottles. The door was missing all the inside hardware. The deadbolt worked, thankfully. There was no screen in the window and the curtain was hanging off to the side, it could be repositioned, but should we have to do that? On the trip home, the employee had to open the door for us, and it didn't even fully shut. Again, thankful we had the deadbolt. The carpets were still old and dirty, the bed had no top sheet, just a bedspread and a blanket and the fitted sheet. The bathroom mirror was smeared. There was old food in the microwave, which also no longer had the glass turntable. The fridge had brown leakage on every surface. What a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Wyndham should be ashamed to have their name attached to that place. I wish I would have taken more photos. We didn't say anything to any employees because they would obviously know how bad it is and don't care. The cost to stay there was one of the deciding factors and I know you get what you pay for, simple, small, no added frills is one thing,...
