Overall bitter experience. I’m just being honest here - We were seated right away. So that was nice. Our waitress though, was obviously disgruntled. We’re a pretty easy-going family. We don’t need to be checked on constantly, nor are we high maintenance. Ordering our meals and then being left alone until we pay works just fine with us. I also understand that the service industry is tough.
Our waitress was rude with our family. Nothing crazy or obnoxious. However, she made us feel very unwelcome. My dad requested a plain egg omelette and she seemed really pissy about him asking for it in the first place. She insisted a plain omelet wasn’t an option and that he had to order it with other ingredients such as meat and or other vegetables. He could sense she was having a bad day, so he did as she asked. The food took about a half hour to come out. It was okay at first but there was something inedible in my dish. It looked like a tiny piece of glass. Mistakes happen, so I didn’t say anything. They gave my dad a plain omelette - which was appreciated. But we couldn’t understand why the heck our waitress put up such a big fuss about it. She made us feel bad for just asking a simple question - it’s not like we argued or anything….They forgot my mother’s meal and it took another 15 minutes for that to come out. She received an insincere and effortless apology. I felt bad for my mother because she was so kind and understanding about it, yet the waitress was still rude to her. While the check was being paid I overheard her being EXTREMELY rude to a nice man next to us. He politely asked for something and she replied, “Yeah it’ll have to wait. I’m really busy right now.” I looked over at her, and maybe she was really busy. But I hated how she spoke to him.
We won’t be returning there. We still tipped her well and prayed that her day become better. I’m only leaving a review so that the restaurant can have an...
Read moreWent there Nov 19th around 8 pm, resturant wasn't busy 1 table besides ours. Was greeted so so, seems the hostess was interrupted being on her phone. The waitress was OK for being the only one there, wasn't very knowledgeable about substitutes. I belive that's lack of training. We got our food it was warm for sure, but wife's order was incorrect. She ordered a original eggs Benedict, ended up getting a California Benedict, she asked for scrambled eggs but got poached ones and avocado. Sent it back reluctantly the server did not hesitate in going to get it fixed. She got it back and the eggs were not fresh but just chopped up and pit back on the top. The avocado was scraped off and the egg put back on then covered with hollandaise sauce. There was still avocado remnants on the ham, the egg you could see it was just chopped and put back on scramble eggs don't have white in them, and the yolk is mixed in but you could see the yolk was looking as if it was hard boiled and the egg was chopped basically in squares. Needless to say the food was not remade it was just doctored up which is illegal to do, it took less than 2 minutes to come back to the table, so red flag for sure. We mentioned it to the host she actually argued stating that the eggs look scrambled, I explained to her how its just chopped up, she said that I don't know what I'm talking about basically. I proceeded to show her the remnants of avocado that had been scraped off that the food was doctored up and not fresh. I belive it was the manager doing the cooking. I'm not returning to perkins again. I'll goto Village Inn. I rate this store 1/2 star. The waitress was the only good thing cause she got the drinks right! I recommend staying away from this...
Read moreMy wife and I ate breakfast here, and we’re still in awe at the kindness we received from so many people.
We travelled to Omaha for a wedding, and the first night in town, my wallet was stolen. We had to cancel all of my credit cards. Everything for the weekend was booked under my name, and we had to navigate the weekend without my ID. Thankfully, we were able to use my wife’s credit cards to cover everything.
The morning we went to Perkins, she went in to order our food while I put gas in the rental car (at the gas station that nearly shares a parking lot with Perkins) before we returned it. Her credit card was denied at the pump. I assumed it was locked due to me locking all of my cards connected to similar accounts. I walked into Perkins and told her not to order, because we might not have a way to pay. I told the waitress about loosing my wallet, and a couple behind us stepped in, saying they overheard, and payed for our meal.
We ordered, and I went back to the gas station with a different credit card. It was also denied at the pump. I walked back to Perkins, sat down with my wife to drink coffee and try to contact the rental car company. Our waitress walked up, saying she talked to the other staff in the back, and they pulled together $25 cash for us to pay for gas. I then left to pay for the gas, and another couple came up to my wife saying they overheard our story, and they gave us $40.
We went from having no way to pay for food or gas to having a wonderful breakfast, a full gas tank, and enough to buy lunch waiting on our connecting flight.
The food at Perkins was perfect. Our hearts are full, and we’re incredibly grateful. Best breakfast...
