The VanLandingham Estate — Hotel in Charlotte

My youngest daughter’s wedding was at VLE on March 28, 2025. It was a beautiful day, with perfect weather, and an amazing venue to make the celebration one to remember. Nikki and Arizona were available to answer questions from the moment the bride and groom booked almost a year in advance right up until the day of the wedding. I don’t know if they recommend Wedding Coordinators or not, but Libby and Melanie with Details Wedding Planning were excellent. Setup was quick, and the result was everything the couple envisioned. We were lucky and got to share the costs of a couple of add-ons that the couple the next day were also using. (There are a lot of add-ons that aren’t included in the base price, so be sure to include everything you want to get an accurate quote.) The bridal suite is spacious, there was plenty of room for the six bridesmaids, the bride, the MOB, and three stylists. The groom’s space was not used until everyone was hiding away before the ceremony, but it was a nice room, although quite small if the guys are getting dressed there. The food was delicious, and there were so many compliments from our guests. We had a plated dinner, and the servers were prompt and very nice. The bartenders were very good, as well. The venue is clean and well maintained. The only improvement I think would make a huge difference is the landscaping around the greenhouse. It was not kept at all, and could be stunning. I think the price for the Charlotte area is very competitive. Certainly not the least expensive (especially with the plated dinner and full premium bar), but I’m sure not the most expensive, either, although with the add-ons, it gets up there. Our wedding was at the end of October. We switched to Vanlandingham at the last minute and grateful that they were so accommodating. Best Impressions is awesome!! The grounds were great and everyone in attendance had a great time. I only had 3 issues, we had a start time of 8:30am for hair and makeup but no one from the venue was there. After my coordinator called many many people, someone showed up a half hour later. Myself, my Bridal Party and my hair and makeup artist waited outside (it was chilly but not that cold) on the porch. The heat wasn’t on and it was a bit chilly. Someone came about 3 hours after we went inside to turn it on. It wasn’t exactly winter but 56 degrees inside wasn’t ideal. It kept all of us awake! I’m not sure when the last bridal party was in the bridal suite, but you would think that they would have vacuumed or dusted/swiffered. So much dust and dirt! When i put my dress on i had to brush it off the lace. There were dead bugs everywhere. On the floor and on the windowsills. (I won’t post the pictures because no one should have to look at dead bugs!) For the price we paid, it could have had some attention.

Other than that we had a great wedding day. Being the kind of venue they are you would think that someone would have reached out and apologized.

VanLandingham Estate was an absolute dream of a venue for our wedding. We got married in April, and the entire property was in full bloom — it truly felt like stepping into a secret garden. The lush landscaping and flowering trees were the perfect backdrop for our garden party-style wedding, and our photos turned out magical because of it.

The estate itself is insanely gorgeous — it perfectly blends historic charm with timeless elegance. Every corner of the property, from the inside spaces where we got ready to the outdoor tented reception area, was immaculately clean and beautifully maintained. The attention to detail in the upkeep of the grounds did not go unnoticed — it felt like everything had been prepared just for us.

There are so many unique and picturesque spots around the property for photos, and our photographer was thrilled with how much variety we had to work with. It made the day even more special knowing that every moment was surrounded by such beauty.
