Quite a bit disappointed. The blue nails are what I get from my normal nail tech and the white french is what I received from Tipsy nail bar. The tech I booked with only did part of my pedi before going to someone else and Lex did the french on my pedi and my entire full set. Even after asking her to fix the shaping of my nails, I wasn’t satisfied with the shaping or drawing of french. Both looked very sloppy and rushed even though I provided a picture for her and would have appreciated her telling me she could not achieve that.
I felt quite intimidated to explain this because she was joking with Deb about how they hate dealing with dissatisfied customers, customers who want cheap nail sets, as well as people who use ClassPass to try the salon out as im literally getting serviced. She also kept making the joke about how she loved the fact that I wanted something “simple and easy” because she was ready to go get lunch. Lex also kept talking about very personal conversations that I felt should not have been spoken about around a client regarding the owner and other nail techs who worked there as well as how she was so pissed and cussed out the owner that morning and was leaving after me.
I’ve provided a picture of the receipt I received after paying because I wasn’t expecting the total at all. No one explained to me the additional charges and I was expecting to pay $145 for the full acrylic set with gel ($60), gel regular pedi($55), and french for both feet and hand ($30) as this is what I booked online. I would advise making customers aware of the final price before providing the service. I was also very confused on why I was charged for a design as well as french when I only received french on my nails not a design. I am a very timid person by nature and felt very intimidated and apprehensive to speak up about how dissatisfied I was due to the conversations the nail technicians were having with one another. The entire situation made me very uncomfortable, and unfortunately, I will not be returning...
Read moreMy experience at this salon was extremely disappointing, especially after what began as a warm first impression. I was offered a drink as soon as I walked in, which felt welcoming, but things quickly went downhill.
During my pedicure, my technician repeatedly took personal calls and openly commented about who would (or wouldn’t) be doing my manicure. When it came time for my manicure, she moved me away from my friend and rushed through the service at the counter. The manicure itself was bare minimum: a quick file, cuticle trim, and polish. No lotion, no massage, not even the short one that typically accompanies a pedicure. Both services were finished within 45 minutes. Meanwhile, my friend’s appointment lasted nearly two hours, leaving me to wait over an hour for her to finish (her nails chipped the next day).
I emailed the owner the next day to share my concerns. To his credit, he was understanding and offered me a refund or gift card. I chose the gift card, wanting to give the new small business another chance, and scheduled my next appointment with him directly. I even explained that I’d be coming in the day I was leaving for Europe and was on a tight schedule.
When I arrived for that appointment, the manager had no record of it, nor any knowledge of the gift card the owner promised. She tried calling him several times, but he never answered. With a plane to catch, I left frustrated and had to scramble elsewhere to get my nails done. After my trip, I reached out to the owner again twice requesting a refund. He never responded.
What could have been an opportunity for this new business to recover turned into repeated disappointment. The lack of professionalism, organization, and follow-through was inexcusable. I will not return, and I would strongly advise others to take their...
Read moreEdit: The owner (Dom) re-did my nails the following day and they are absolutely gorgeous some of my complaints were actually normal things that happen with gel x such as the gel buildup under the finger nail and the transparency of the gel base coat. Dom was very nice and I learned my lesson with GelX and he switched it over to acrylic (just works better for my comfortability) and I did ask for a different file style than I did before. (I do recommend booking ahead of time to get Dom.)
I had an appointment but still ended up waiting over 30 minutes to be seen. During the service, I had to repeatedly ask the technician to fix the shaping, and even then, the filing was uneven especially on the underside my skin is bonded to this gel. I specifically said I didn’t want square nails and even showed a reference photo, but somehow still left with uneven, oddly shaped extremely square nails. The base coat is transparent so you can still see my natural nail underneath. I haven’t had my fingernails done in years and was really looking forward to treating myself, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had and it cost me nearly $90. Unfortunately, I...
