We had an absolutely terrible experience at SpringHill Suites Chicago Chinatown. This hotel has two sides — one facing a quiet street, the other directly facing a busy highway and an active train line. We were unfortunately placed in a room on the highway/train side, where trains passed every 5 minutes, 24/7, and the sound was unbelievably loud — as if the train were running right outside your window. The highway noise added constant roaring on top of it. Sleeping was completely impossible. Every train felt like a jolt to the body. I asked the front desk to move us to a quieter room the next morning. They first told me we could move after cleaning was done, but after waiting over 2 hours, they suddenly claimed there were no rooms left. Totally unacceptable and misleading. Worse yet, after just one night, my wife and child woke up with multiple itchy, red, painful bites on their arms, which we suspect were from bed bugs or other insects in the bedding. The bites were clustered and became inflamed, clearly visible the next morning (see attached photos). This is beyond disgusting and a serious health concern. The parking lot is also very small and fills up quickly. Overall, this is the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had in the U.S. — between the unbearable noise, bug bites, and poor service, I strongly advise everyone to stay far away, especially if you’re traveling with kids or care about hygiene and sleep.

From the moment I stepped into the double doors, I knew I was home.

1st impressions are important to me in hospitality, the cleanliness of the entrance, the smell of the lobby, the well dressed front end persons. All this I physically look out for, especially the lobby bathrooms.

As I was being checked in, The greeting went like this, welcome to SpringHill Suites by Marriott Bonvoy, let me check you in. My personal situation has brought me here for an extended time of about 30days. As I’m checked in, then explained the amenities like a Awesome Breakfast at 6am to 9:30am, Laundry Facilities, Large Work Out Room (Gym), Parking spaces in the building and so on.

1 thing I do notice is that EVERY EMPLOYEE was smiling, like really smiling, that shows me that, “HAPPY EMPLOYEE HAPPY EMPLOYER”.

The crisp clean white king size bed, to the couch, large TV, Fridge, Silent Microwave (SILENT), to my personal desk in the room and my own ottoman. The room was perfect, next day, mind you I slept like a bear who was hibernating in my room, what a bed to sleep in, wow! Woke up, hit the gym, for an hour, then walked to go get breakfast, OMG the spread they had of Hot Items, not pre packaged, it was all served hot in its proper dish, fresh hot oatmeal with all the fixings, fresh fruit, all the breads including gluten free, all the jams, cream cheese, and butter you can find, fresh hot coffee, cold milk, juices, and much more as they rotate the menu everyday but still have a full spread, the kitchen staff very attentive to my needs, cleaning up after guest, to make room for more guest!

After that went to my room, took a shower, got dressed, headed out to explore China town, I mean CHINA, ASIA AND EUROPEAN IN MY OWN BACK YARD, Cermak China Town off the Redline, I was like a kid in a candy store. I must of tried every restaurant on WentWorth and the Chinese Plaza where the horoscopes are. Then came back to my room, which I need my room key, the security here is top of the line, not only did I feel safe, I felt comfortable always, as I was greeted by the staff, how am I doing, just very attentive to how I slept, how was breakfast.

I mean I’ve stayed at The W, Hilton Hotels, The Ritz, and The Plaza in New York, let me just say that SpringHill Suites by Marriott in China Town Chicago should be in the category of GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, house keeping cleaned my room, made it organized and clean! The house keeping crew and maintenance crew was so delightful and attentive to my needs, that I don’t want to leave.

The management staff was always helpful in my personal situation that we had a personal bond, and being alone in Chicago, I felt very thankful that someone was looking out for my wellbeing.

Honestly I tried calling my finance crew to see about staying another month, but due to my personal situation I must go back home to watch over my place. I live here in Chicago, BRONZEVILLE area, and I would do A STAYCATION TO CHINA TOWN here at the SPRINGHILL SUITES BY MARRIOTT BONVOY all over again!

So thank you very much to the staff here at SpringHill Suites Marriott Bonvoy for an outstanding service and going to miss all of you, thank you again for the exceptional hospitality and service you provided me while I stayed here!

Great Job keep it up, others need to know that SpringHill Suites by Marriott Bonvoy in China Town Chicago, is a Great Experience to book a couple of nights,...

First of all let me say this is a beautiful hotel, good location, very clean, nice atmosphere safe and secure, a great breakfast actually the best I have seen offered anywhere in a very long time, lists of choices hot and cold, fruits drinks etc. |The room we book was wheelchair accessible and it was very spacious with a large handicap bathroom and rolling shower, a very sturdy shower bench with all shower controls within reach of the bench, handrails by stool etc. very pleased.||Now for the two cons, one major one minor, both easy fixes if they so choose. |Con#1 |The beds are way too high, I understand that this tall thick mattresses are all the rage with hotels, but I. Wheelchair accessible rooms they are a big problem, people like myself that are paraplegic and can't stand or walk, the average wheelchair is about 15-17 inches from the floor to the seat, when the mattress is 12" deep sitting on 18" box springs etc, and then 6" legs the top of the mattress is about 3 foot from the floor and at least 12-19 inches higher that we can lift our self's off our chair, so we can't get on the bed without someone being able to lift us, not what we think of as being accessible. Even people that have canes or crutches or trouble walking would have difficulty getting in the bed without assistance. The beds need to be lowered to around 20 inches or less from the floor.||Con# 2 |This is a minor problem and an easy fix as well, in that wonderful shower lies a design flaw, the really nice bench seat sets at one end of the shower, and as mentioned all controls are within reach witch is fantastic, but the body wash, shampoo and conditioner are mounted on the other end of the shower and unless your arms are 5 plus feet long you can not access them unless you are able to stand and walk.. which a lot of wheelchair folks can't.||I spoke to the very nice ladies at the front desk when checking out and ask if I could give them this constructive criticism, to which they listened and advised they would pass the information on to the proper people.|I do plan to return in the near future to see if these two flaws have been corrected and will leave an updated review with the information at that time .|Hopefully I will have positive feedback to report.||I rated this at four stars because everything was impressive except for those two problems with the room. As far as the rest of the hotel, staff and service goes it is 5...

We spent 1 week in Spring Hill Suites Chinatown, and had such a lovely stay. I would 100% recommend this hotel. It is the best Marriott we have stayed in (which is saying something as we are “titanium elites” as my husband stays in a hotel for business 75+ nights a year).

The pros: The staff is incredible. We were always greeted by name, the kids given lollipops, and they were quick to address any needs (extra towels, more body wash/shampoo/conditioner, a fork, etc) The outlets all had USB ports so there were so many places to charge your devices. The room was spacious (we are a family of 4- 2 adults, 2 small kids) with a walk in closet to store our stuff, which was so nice! The sitting area was great so we could enjoy a class of wine when the kids went to bed. It is near so many wonderful restaurants (we enjoyed Happy Lamb Hot Pot, Monkey King Jianbing, The Noodle-Pho, Chiu Quon Bakery and dimsum-cash only) Parking-we were able to park for free on the street which was a huge plus! Close to the L. We took the L downtown several times-it was a quick walk, and our 5 and 6 year old never complained. We felt safe while walking around. Clean and comfortable. Being in a brand new hotel has its perks! It is beautifully designed, the stuff hasn’t aged yet from wear and tear. The cleaning staff was always working as we could often smell cleaning solution when we entered elevators or hallways (but we only saw them once! Which I thought was pretty amazing.) The office space. The desk was perpendicular to the wall, so you could easily go on a zoom meeting with the camera facing a fall and not the room. As an online teacher, I appreciated that as I didn’t need to have a backdrop or move furniture to teach a class.

Cons The design of the bathroom isn’t ideal for a dating couple or friends. The toilet/sink/glass shower all share one room with no dividers so only one person can be in there at a time (if concerned about privacy). Also, the sliding door is fogged class, and lights up the room at night if someone needs a late night bathroom trip. The pillows were soooo soft. If that’s your jam, you will be in heaven.

Overall, it is a wonderful hotel. We enjoyed our stay, and will stay again next time We...
