SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Chula Vista West — Hotel in Chula Vista

This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. It's in a sketchy part of town. The room we stayed in Room 219 reeked of cigarette smoke though it was supposedly non-smoking plus TV didn't work so we asked to get moved and were told they had no other rooms available and that the maintenance guy would look at the TV. They did provide us with glade to spray the room which didnt help. The message on the TV screen said that there was no service in place but I was told a maintenance man would look into it which never happened. In the morning what appeared to be a homeless person was yelling outside the hotel and was apprehended at the nearby 7-11. We decided it was just too sketchy for our family on top of all the other issues so we asked to check out 2 days sooner. Initially was told I could get a refund 3-5 days later from the person at the front desk but they refused to give me any paperwork confirming this info but said I'd receive an email. The person checking me out even pretended to be checking us out of the place on their computer. I returned my keys and thought that was the end, then 2 days later get a call at 9:30 at night asking if I could fill out their registration form before I check out. I reminded them that I had checked out 2 days before and they said they thought I was still at the hotel and that I had a 3 day reservation. Also another strange incident was having to pay a $9/day "convenience fee" although I paid online through a 3rd party vendor for the entire reservation beforehand. I also never received a receipt for this convenience fee upon check-out. Super sketchy people running this hotel. Would warn anyone wanting to stay here to think twice!!! DON'T DO IT!!! Having read the response from the Mgmt company I am appalled at the lies about my situation as I am neither smoke or drink alcohol and was on vacation with my kids in my hometown. We stayed in that area to be closer to family. We left on our own accord before the 11am checkout and even apologized for cutting our stay short due to the smoke smells bothering my asthma and caused my child to cough all night. Please take this as a warning that the people who run this place aren't reliable or trustworthy. I wonder if they make it hard to stay so you'll leave and then take your money since they can't refund you if you book through a 3rd party. This review is beyond the money I lost I would feel bad for anyone else getting the same treatment. This is the only Google review I've ever written because it was that bad. Re made it to better explain mainly because the guy in the front desk never gave me his managers num he would answer both phone I'm more in YouTube my friend is tik tok I don't want to go posting for defamation and I'm not petty but However if you guys take it seriously he shouldn't be working there he laughed while asking if I understand English when I spoke proper English. Must've been because my mom sincerely can't understand English when someone's English isn't fluent or has too much of an accent  it's hard for her to understand what's being said. when I tried to talk to him he was ignorant by kicking me out and not even talking about it .Me and my friend are in the streets I had told him I'm not trying to give you hard time he smiled  when I told him I'm sleeping in my car in the rain tonight  he kicked me out cuz he said no visitors but it says visitors allowed right in front of the office. my friend is also homeless. He only asked for some food and too brush his teeth worst part is that he tried kicking me out before he even entered the room saying 5 min like who laughs discriminates and also disrespects when someone is telling the front desk guy (harsh) I'm sleeping in the streets during the flood tonight I didn't give him no hard times . He didn't wipe the smile on his face until he threatening to call the cops on me and I begged them to call the cops because he was so unreasonable and ignorant I much prefer talking to a cop I told him there was two guest that my mom is helping me with the room. She trusted me that nothing will go wrong.  Like did it go over harsh head. However there was still something worse. was that the housekeepers were kept past their lunch so they could finish all the rooms. That there itself is more discriminating or I'll even call it abusing than any other hotel I've been at. That's against labor laws I decided not to post on any of my social medias because I'm still waiting for the money to reimburse so I'm back in he streets until we get our money back I'm honestly a very blunt person no need for me to lie however I suggest you keep and eye on harsh it was one of my worst experience ever because I have too many hardships to deal with. If I was to post the truth the store might've faced legal fees for labor against your employees and discriminating but God will make things straight mean while I pray to god no matter where I sleep tonight. Take the sign down if there is no visitors makes no sense...

Edit: Went down to this location to see if there was someone else I could talk to or just make the res and put down the stupid deposit. There was only one man there. Did not speak English well. I asked him why he was being rude just because I was asking questions and he said you don’t meet the criteria to stay here. I asked him to clarify and he said, “You have no money.” Beg your pardon. Yes. I do have money. I intended to be a paying customer for my one night stay. I just had a hard time understanding why the deposit was so high for a single person on a one night stay. I told him I was autistic and that is why I ask a lot of questions. He kept hurling insults at me and the said, “ leave my property.” I told him that I would leave as soon as he told me what I did wrong. He then proceeded to lock me in the lobby and call the police screaming he’s getting robbed. I found an unlocked door and opened it. There was an unlocked window and I popped out the screen and jumped out. Warning!⚠️ This man is aggressive, rude, lied to law enforcement to try to get me arrested and he held me hostage. Warning!⚠️

Tried to reserve a room on Expedia, but I noticed that they were charging a $100 deposit. I called on Sunday at 2pm to discuss this with the front desk. I’m autistic, so I had some questions. The man on the phone was so rude. First call he hung up on me when I tried to clarify that a reservation for 1 person for a 1 night stay was charged a $100 deposit. Second call, I inquired about whether it had to be cash or if I could use a credit card and how long it would take to get the money credited back to my credit card. The man was so rude. He told me that if I had $100 I could stay and then he made a remark that made me flabbergasted. He told me, “This place is not for homeless.” I explained that I was not homeless and asked if there was anyone there that could make an exception. The entire time I was polite and kind, even though he was speaking to me very disrespectfully and rude. He then asked what I meant about an exception. I started to answer by stating that I had stayed at another hotel a couple of months ago and they just took my credit card info, but he cut me off saying that was not Best Western and then, hung up on me again.
