3.5 Stars. I understand that this is a cheaper hotel and I will try to rate it according to what I would expect at that price point. Pros: - Newly redesigned and redecorated rooms with all new everything! It looks very modern. - It's one of the cheapest hotels you can get that is fairly close to Chicago's downtown area. - The room had good temperature controls - Free plentiful parking Cons: - I requested a non-smoking room, which I did receive. When I walked in it smelled like cigarettes. I went back to the front desk and they said they didn't have any other rooms they could give me that were non-smoking. If you don't like smoke, I would skip this motel entirely. - Bring ear plugs with you. The walls are thin. I could hear TVs playing most of the night and in the morning when I woke up. - There was literally no comforter on the bed, it was just 2 thin bed sheets to cover up with. I've never had that happen in a hotel/motel before. - There is no soap whatsoever. Not even hand soap. I get it, they are trying to keep costs down by not providing shampoo/conditioner, but no hand soap? That's really strange. - The towels were very rough. Like comically rough. They went out of their way to buy the most sandpaper towels I've ever seen in my life lol Other things I noticed: - The curtains don't close all the way to the window so the building lights shine in at night. Bring your eye mask with your ear plugs while you are at it! - The sink in my room drained so slow it filled with water. I reported it to the front desk the next day. I have no idea how fast they repair things like that. - The motel is located in a bit of a low-income area. but that is probably why it's much cheaper than other hotels near chicago. - No microwave/mini fridge. You can't store you left overs from eating out.

, When we first arrived they some how couldn’t find my booking I was telling them I have the confirmation number in every thing they act like they could do nothing about it couldn’t call the manager or nothing so I had to call the website I book it from then they had to call them to speak to a manager, we was waiting outside in the cold for like 30 minutes then they finally got it then I go to check in to the room the TV don’t work had to go back down, then I checked the sheets they was so dirty so I took pictures then showed them they said we had to wait on the supervisor to come change them then the supervisor took like 15 minutes to come then we had to wait 20 minutes outside in the cold while they changed them , then we finally go back to the room to check the sheets and the sheets was still dirty again like what was you doing for 20 mins because the sheets was still dirty

My non-smoking room was extremely smokey. I complained and was not moved. There was an event in town and no other options so I endured... developed a headache and sore throat. There was garbage under the furniture. Multiple flies in the room. Didn't appear the be swept, bits on the floors throughout. The rooms were at some point nicely renovated but they have been poorly kept... not sure they've ever wiped down a wall 🤢. And then there was under the bed sheet.... the mattress pad was DISGUSTING. Definitely the most dirty place I have stayed... but atleast those were $79 rooms.... I paid over 200$ to stay here. I booked through Expedia and even they couldn't get the motel to issue a refund or any type of compensation for my horrible stay. Not to mention the loud people and someone knocking on the door upstairs of me begging to be let in for a good 30minutes. DO NOT recommend.

Shamrock Hotel. Not too happy with my stay. I got to the hotel, check in was quick and simple. Open the door to my room and was immediately blasted with the smell of stale cigarette smoke. It seriously smelled like an ashtray in there (mind you, the room was non-smoking.)

There was no remote for the TV, but the nice lady at front desk had one for me, so that was alright.

Wi-fi did not reach my room unless I sat up against the door to outside.

Shower water pressure was not good.

Apparently the owners live in the upper most part of the hotel? I heard a lot of stomping above my room.

I went to move my car later in the night so it was closer to the set of stairs outside of my room. I get in my car and the new clerk who wasnt there at my check in, came out and started to yell at me for parking poorly.. I was within the yellow lines. I drive a kia rio hatchback, its not a big car. While he was parked in a spot that wasnt legally a parking spot... Why would you come at me like that when I did nothing wrong?? He apologized after I asked if he wanted to check on my new parking position (yeah I was being facetious, but he angered me.) He must've been having a bad day.

Wasnt until the next morning that I realized that I wasnt in the best part of town.. But I didn't ever fear my safety while I was there.

All in all, not the best experience. It was a place to lay my head for two nights, and I did that. But I do not want to stay...

THIS PLACE WAS AWFUL!!! I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY CHILDREN THERE NOR RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND! STAY AWAY! The beds were old, warped, and had stains under the mattress topper! The mattress dipped in the middle. The floors were filthy. I took a shower and walked around without my socks on and they were DIRTY again! The bathroom was “clean” like wiped down but grim was in the crevices. Shower head was calcified. There was no blanket just 2 sheets. I had to ask for a blanket and was scolded because it’s too hot. It had bed bugs as well! Disgusting! The area was absolutely not safe. Drugs being sold. Gas station literally next door on the corner also selling drugs. Liquor store on the other corner. NOT SAFE at all! I couldn’t move hotels because there were none available for that same day in the immediate 30 surrounding minute area. Super busy traffic area and very noisy! When I asked for a refund, the front desk was rude and said you should have said something! I was saying it Now! Also “mandatory “ fee of $67? Anyone who asks for recommendations will be steered far away from there! I would like a REFUND and be contacted by the owner! Our room was extremely dirty and smelled of smoke even though we booked a non-smoking room. When I asked to be moved they said there were no other rooms. UPDATE to Edit: I don’t want your sorry excuses that you have given every single review on here! I want a...
