This was my first time trying this place, as a black vegan chef myself. I was really excited to support but my experience was not great. I ordered online and shortly after I was notified with a call by the cashier that one of the two dishes were sold out. I told her that I will look at the menu really quickly to replace the item, and give a call back. I called back 4 times and my girlfriend called 3 times, neither one of our calls got answered over an 50 minute time span. We decided to just go in and tell them the order there.. once getting there, I tried explaining the issue to the cashier, she immediately said āI have to call her and tell her to refund youā, not asking if we wanted to replace our item or even acknowledging that it was never replaced or calls werenāt answered. After explaining that we spoke to her on the phone for a replacement, she then responded in unprofessional āthat was meā manner. Although that was beyond the point of the manner, I just said okay.. received the one item that was available and agreed to a refund.
The item I did receive was the Philly Cheesesteak sliders. There were in my opinion, just okay. There was an equivalent amount of āmayoā as the mushroom, making it a mayo and mushroom sandwich, instead of being used as a sauce/accompaniment. Because of this, I was not able to enjoy the sandwich as I wanted to. I understand this type of business gets busy, especially when tasty. However, I believe the flow of service, and structure of the business could be a lot better. I am not oppose to giving her another shot, as I never do; but again, I am a black vegan chef myself and am very supportive of my own. But hopefully this situation could help be a growing point for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked in to pick up my order and was immediately greeted with a smile from the chef and owner. My order was ready just as notified, allowing my pickup process to be flawless.
Now the FOOD, boy oh boy, it was amazing !!!! We ordered the hot wings w/ burro fries, shrimp fajita bowl, and the philly sliders. My husband was hesitant like many, but this man practically ate all of my hot wings on the ride home, which I happily fed him because they were made from lions mane mushrooms and that was new to us both. Now the burra fries which were made from bananas were just spectacular, itās hard to even put into words and understand how they taste so much like french fries from a potato but the chef obviously understood the assignment because I am a big french fry person and I missed absolutely NOTHING from regular fries eating these fries.
The sliders were a hit, and I have had those before, so I knew they were going to be amazing. But the food flavor consistency is my favorite. In my opinion, sometimes you go to places and one day is a hit. Next day is a flop. Those Philly sliders are always a hit if you like the Philly cheesesteak flavor.
My husband chose the shrimp fajita, the flavor was delicious. The shrimp were jumbo, and the portion was absolutely enough for 2 to 3 servings.
I was so very happy to eat food that I didnāt have to worry myself about the sourcing. And the flavor is bar non. The only thing I truly need to know is if that sauce that came with my fries is housemade or sweet baby rays. Great guilt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo say that this was a new experience for me would be an understatement. Someone tagged me on Facebook of this place and Iām SOOOOOO glad they did. Upon first glance, itās small but cozy. Took my best friend and mom here and the moment I walked in, it was a pleasure. Cashmere and I hope Iām spelling her name correctly, was just the SWEETEST THING!!!! Took her time explaining the menu and didnāt rush you at all! The other guests that were there were kind as well, also letting us take our time and not feel rushed. My mom and I experienced the chicken tacos and let me tell you, just eating one of the three and I was full!!! My friend Valarie had the sliders with the buttered bread and BAAABEEEE!!!! They know what theyāre doing!!! The vegan mac and cheese looked delicious and my mom enjoyed it too. The owner Bri was such a delight when I joked that I needed to register a complaint because everything was amazing. She made me smile so hard that I almost cried. Along with my tacos I purchased a butterfly purple flower tea and it was awesome!!!
