Do not stay at this location. The management here is incompetent, rude and lack basic customer services skills. My mother and I traveled to Clarksburg in early November to visit my brother. We both flew in from different states. A credit card on file was required for incidentals. A few days after our stay, I noticed on my credit card statement that I was charged a $100 fee. I called to inquire and was told it was only pending and it would go away, to which I told the staff member that the charge was fully processed. I had to call several times over a two week period, and during one of those calls, I was told the $100 fee was due to "pet damages". We did not have a pet with us at any time during our stay. The staff member said they'd need to review security footage and I asked them to please do so, as we had nothing to hide. I called again one morning and reached Danni, one of the managers, who had "no idea" what I was talking about and was abrasive and argumentative from the start of our conversation. So no footage had been reviewed, however, she said she had two pictures of excessive pet fur and a damaged pillow (the photo of excessive pet fur is attached). She told me on the phone that she had enough photo evidence and would not refund this charge. I asked her to please review security footage to which she said "when I get to it". I asked to speak to corporate and she said "there was no corporate office", which we all know is a bold faced lie. A customer care case was opened after I called the corporate phone number, and after a lengthy email explaining yet again that we didn't have a pet with us, I was finally refunded. If you want to risk being accused of causing damages to their rooms with this type of supposed evidence and the worst customer service from managers, go ahead and stay at this location.

My recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Clarksburg, West Virginia, left a lot to be desired. While I’ve enjoyed stays at other Hilton properties, this one fell short in several areas. For instance, breakfast cost $14 per person, which I found quite steep, considering that about 85% of Hilton stays provide complimentary breakfast, including all my previous stays. Even getting a simple bottle of water was a hassle; despite being a Silver member, my partner had to insist on the perk.. while in every other Hilton stay prior I was provided free water to drink. I also found it concerning that the housekeeping staff are instructed to disregard the "Do Not Disturb" sign every other day. Privacy is essential to me, and this intrusion is unacceptable. Moreover, the overall experience didn’t reflect a four-star standard as advertised. My partner and I won’t be returning to Hilton Garden Inns, especially when other similarly priced options offer better experiences and more thoughtful service. On a positive note, the room was very nice with a decent Appalachian view. And it is near plenty of restaurants.

Upon arrival I was greeted at the door by a typed note stating “Large Vehicle Parking not available” it further stated that if your vehicle takes more than one space it will be towed. I asked the desk guy what to do and he told me that “You should just be able to park it at the furniture store.” I assumed they have some sort of agreement, but that’s not the case. I awkwardly walked in and asked, to be told that they don’t really like it (parking in their lot). After an agreement, I then had to walk with my suitcase up a hill, through a gas station, finally to get to the hotel. How is that a solution? Nowhere on the website does it state I can’t have a large vehicle… I’m moving across the country in a box truck, where the hell am I supposed to park it? Hopefully the furniture guy is more accommodating than the people in the accommodation industry… Room was nice though

Decent hotel. Breakfast is NOT free. And definitely ask for a room AWAY from the elevator and mechanical room. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. It’s near several dining and shopping places. And it’s right off the highway. Besides that, we were not impressed with much of anything else. The hotel does look newer. The room was decent. But for whatever reason, they gave us the worst room in the hotel. It’s right next to the elevator and the mechanical room. We did NOT get a wink of sleep at all. The noise alone from the mechanical room was nonstop. And the people coming up and down the halls from the elevator were extremely loud and disrespectful of those trying to get some sleep. After a long day of driving to get to Clarksburg, we were expecting to get some rest. That did not happen. The pillows were too soft. I asked for firm pillows and extra ones too but we didn’t get that. And to top it off, we had the worst breakfast experience we’ve ever had at any hotel we’ve stayed. At check-in the night before, the front desk staff pointed out the times for breakfast but didn’t say anything about the times for the bar & grille for the evening, stating “breakfast is at 6-10”. So the way he said it, it sounded like it was part of our package as we weren’t quite sure if it were or weren’t. So the next morning comes, and there were a couple of staff there but none of them came up to us to explain how the breakfast area works. The ONE sign they had was tucked in the back corner covered by decor. You had to really look for it. And it had so much stuff going on in the sign, it was hard to understand it. We of course didn’t see the sign until after we’ve made our waffles and the front desk staff FINALLY comes up to us and gruffly asks us if we wanted menus, to which we politely declined. But she still didn’t explain what was going on and why we needed menus. Then the lady in the kitchen comes out and asks us if we wanted to order anything or if we just wanted food from the cold bar and then asked if we wanted to pay for it there or charge it to our room. Honestly, it was hard to understand her so we just said charge to our room. Gave her our room number, she punched it in her computer and then left. No explanation about what’s going on. Then we look around and finally see that sign. And finally get it. But we didn’t know if we were allowed to come back for seconds either or if we could only get one waffle as that was all we could fit on our plates or if we’d get charged again for another waffle because 1) it’s hot food, not cold and 2) nobody explained it to us. And we didn’t know if coffee was included in the “cold bar” either so we didn’t get that as it was in another area adjacent to the cold bar. Nobody said anything about it and there was no sign indicating anything either. As pretty as the hotel is, and it was relatively clean, they could use better communication skills or better signage if they don’t have time to communicate. We didn’t complain about any of the things that made our stay uncomfortable and not restful because the staff wouldn’t even look you in the eye when they talk to you. And they seemed too busy to be bothered with anything. It was a disappointing experience from a Hilton hotel. We were...

So first to start, and to be fair they are remodeling the lobby and not only did I know this because it said it while I was selecting the hotel and as soon as I booked it through my HH app they sent me an email stating that they wanted to let me know they were remodeling lobby. And that was very much appreciated. At least I didn't come in to that mess without knowing. Now with that being said , its very dusty and dirty where you have to walk in and check in. So I would just like for the hotel to maybe clean up a little better after the work crew leaves for the day...that way your not getting out of your car and walking in dust and then tracking it in your car or tracking it all over your room.

The lady who checked me in (3/30 @around 2030) was extremely nice. And very professional and answered any questions I had. She was great.

Theres no digital key at this location.... But it let me setup my dig key so I went up to room thinking it was good but couldnt get in...so I went downstairs and checked in officially ... and thats when she told me that there was no digital key service there. No worrries ... Just for the future maybe just dont offer it if you cant use it any way. I got my key went upstairs .... keys didnt work. Walk of shame back downstairs...get another set of keys. A little annoyed but still its ok. Thats nothing. It happens.... just a nusiance.

Decor is old , needs to def be updated .. rooms are dark and hallways and carpet are that brownish and dark yellowish ... so it appears dark wgile your walking to your room and even in your room. Small rooms.... but dark and needs to be updated. Rooms and bathroom were clean . Plus they checked out on the bed bugs registry as not having bed bugs... So thats always good. Beds were not very comfortable , my wife and I both woke up with sore backs from the bed. Not as comfortable as most of the Hiltons or Hampton beds we are used to.

Parking is tight ... and with all the construction waste bins its super tight.

Lots of places to eat and few stores to shop right next to hotel.

We "would" if there was a reason to be back in the area , certainly give the hotel another shot. But we would definitely wait until the remodeling of the lobby was done and possibly after hopefully future renovations on the rooms.

Needs some...

Facilities and staff here are wonderful and attentive. The business center here has unique and free services such as laser printing as well as scanning/faxing. I could send what I needed printed to an email address and when it was ready to print I would receive an email with a personal PIN. I would then take the PIN down to the business center, enter it on the keypad, and viola my job would print. This was VERY handy for printing boarding passes or things I needed for work, etc.

The rooms are nice and have a refrigerator and microwave along with a Philips HD TV (I think its a 32"). I easily hooked up my iPad via HDMI (brought my own cable) to the TV to watch content. Direct TV is in the room also with HBO and lots of other channels in HD. There is also a coffee maker..

The work desk, chair, and lamp were all very good and fairly new with ample plugs to plug in all of my gadgets to charge etc.

The bed was just OK as I am not a big fan of memory foam. I had several pillows of varying firmness to choose from and was able to find one I liked.

The bathroom was nice and big. My only ding here would be that there was no tub, only a walk-in shower. The shower was easy to control and I never wanted for additional hot water as there was always plenty.

The HVAC unit was fairly quiet and had a digital control on the wall by the bad. It did an OK job and did not wake me when it cycled on during the night.

The fitness center has a treadmill, an elliptical, and a bike along with some free weights.

The indoor pool was nice and also had an in-ground jacuzzi. I didn't use those but saw others there and it looked clean and well kept.

Finally this location has its own restaurant off of the lobby. I had breakfast there every morning and it was great every time. I could either get fruits or bagels or a made-to-order hot breakfast. Guess which one I chose??...the made-to-order was terrific! I could choose from eggs, omelets, sausage, bacon, hash browns (breakfast potatoes), oatmeal, or french toast. I also ate a couple of sandwiches for dinner a couple of times and they were also good. They have other items such as steak etc which I have not tried yet.

Any time I visit here this is where...
