My last visit to the Clarksburg location was a different experience than any other I have had. I had taken a life long friend to dinner for her birthday. We had a short wait to be seated. When we were seated it was at a table in the bar area. There was a couple at the neighboring table and a couple sitting at the bar. The server in that area was also the bartender which changed our experience to one of the most enjoyable times I've had at any restaurant. His name was Matt. Matt was very informative as we were choosing our selections. He offered his opinion as we ordered our cocktails and his suggestions were spot on and full of flavor like he promised. After our delicious meal was over, he had gathered other servers that came to our table to sing my friend Happy Birthday. It was quite amusing. He later returned to the table with another suggestion for a second drink for my friend. Washington Apple was his suggestion. She agreed to purchase the drink. I must say that drink tasted just like you were eating a freshly picked crisp apple. Our conversation immediately prior to us leaving was the highlight of our night. He made us laugh so hard that our sides hurt as we were walking to our car. I believe that he was being harmlessly flirtatious with my friend. He was very entertaining and a wonderful server. Thank you Matt for helping us make more memories with each other as life...
Read moreWe finally made it to this new location on a Wednesday evening. Upon checking in, we were told its a 30 minute wait. No biggie, thats the equivalent to any wait at a good restaurant on the weekend so we’re used to it. We saw a few people leave after hearing about the wait, guess they were in a big hurry. I remember a time not too long ago when you couldn’t go out to eat anywhere, so from that perspective its easy to take a breather and wait 30 min. We did find out that they have “call ahead seating”, so we’ll take advantage of that next time. Our waitress, Shannon, was great. You could tell she was busy with other tables but she promptly greeted us and took our drink order. Upon returning she took our dinner order. Food runners brought our appetizer: fried calamari, it was delicious. Shannon then returned shortly with our soup and salads. Then after that, our entrees. I’d guesstimate it was 15ish minutes from ordering the entrees to them coming out, pretty quick in my opinion. Everything was hot and everything tasted great. Overall, our experience was the same consistency that we’ve had at other Olive Gardens. We especially loved seeing the restaurant interior design. I really liked seeing the timber frame construction in the ceiling of the main dining area....
Read moreMy friend and I dine out several times a week in the Harrison county area. We were curious to try the new Olive Garden so we decided to give it a try last night. The waitress we had was very nice but didn’t do well at keeping up on refills, in fact, we had to ask for them multiple times. Empty plates and glasses filled the time with no apparent concern of the waitress. We ordered our food before 8 pm and sometime around 9 pm a manager approached us to inform they hadn’t “entered the order” in the kitchen but it was now being “rushed”. We finally got out pasta and to say it absolutely sucked would be an understatement. Neither of us ate even half of each and the seafood (shrimps and scallops) watered down the Alfredo making it disgusting. The gnocchi was so watery I ate around three spoonfuls before putting it aside (which is where it sat until we left). I would leave zero stars if I could. At least the manager was nice and offered to comp the bill without being asked. Doubt...
