We stayed overnight for an event. Since it was Labor Day weekend, it was hard to find a room we could afford within a month. We took a chance on the Starlight based on reviews, and its location in Colchester. It was easy to find using GPS, and the sign by the road was easy for us to see. The sign is lighted at night. It's a small motel that harks from a time before Interstate 89 was built. The building is set away from the road, and provided a quiet place. Rooms are movie-themed from a time when cowboys and romance were desired. We were in the John Wayne room. Large accommodations, king bed, microwave, and coffeemaker were available. The room was clean. The only negatives I experienced were my personal preferences. The mattress was too soft, and the pillow was lumpy. My partner said he was fine. If we weren't doing something different, we would've gone to the drive-in movie. They played 8 movies alternating from 4 screens. You could be there all evening watching movies and eating from the snack bar. You can rent a radio at the snack bar. Take your room receipt with you and get in free while staying at the motel. We walked in to get food before the snack bar closed at 10. We would stay there again! Quiet, clean, and in downtown Burlington in less...

While the stay in the room was adequate (hardly five star, as their rating would indicate), the owners' responses to a problem were deeply disturbing. Here's what happened. We accidentally left two things in our room when we checked out. Discovering this a few days later, we called to ask if the items had been found. The owner said that they had. "I have them right here" were his exact words. We asked them to send the items, and he asked for our credit card information. It all seemed rather minor and correctable. Except we never got the items, and we never got a phone call telling us what had happened. We've called repeatedly and the best explanation we've gotten is that the "Post Office must have lost them." Each time we have called, it seems we have had to remind them of the problem They can provide us with no tracking number. There is no transaction on our credit card. And, they claim that they did not insure the package. When asked what we can do, their reply has been essentially "nothing." So we are SOL and they seem indifferent. Next time you're in Burlington, stay...

After missing my flight, having to buy a ticket for a new flight on a different airline and finally arriving in Burlington an hour later than my friend we had to drive through a rain storm and finally arrived at the Starlight Inn. It was a welcome piece of heaven!|Each room has a theme and ours was the Bonnie and Clyde room. It had a poster from the movie along with other pictures hanging on the wall from the movie. The room did not have a funky smell, and it was absolutely spotless! Plenty of hot water and clean absorbent towels. The room was plenty big enough for the two of us and our double beds were both comfortable. I would say mine was a little too soft but I prefer a firmer mattress so that is not a complaint. What’s also cool is the two screen drive-in movie theater located right next-door. You could actually sit in front of your room or at the gazebo that’s located out front and watch the movie!|I would recommend this motel to anyone visiting the Burlington area. It’s definitely a nice place to stay for the money. I will stay here again if I’m ever back in this...

Originally my wife and I were going to stay in downtown Burlington, but after arriving at the Hilton in Burlington and dealing with just a bit of their pretentious nature we decided to look elsewhere. We are really pleased we did. Although the Starlight is a little drive out of Burlington, it is really worth the drive. The accommodations were clean and inviting. We didn't have to deal with a parking garage or 16 year old valets taking our car for a drive. The was no one dancing on the floor above. The theme was fun and friendly as well. We had a nice kitchenette and a huge bathroom with a hot tub. All in all, it was a really nice experience. Even making reservations was good. We called from the car asking if they had an opening. There was no waffling around or hemming and so on. The guy was friendly and joked around with me. The only bummer was that they weren't showing movies at the drive in yet. That would just make it even better.

The place is clean and the facilities seem to be well maintained. The matress have a cushioned cover that makes them more comfortable. The room keeper came knocking at 8am, which was a fairly substantial annoyance because it woke me up. A microwave is included in the room, which helps heating up some bread or muffins. However, the room is not without faults. Opportunities: 1. The toilet paper is borderline sandpaper. I'm pretty sure it is the cheapest and roughest in the market. You can get 10x better quality paper at Dollar Tree. 2. The remote has seen better days. Batteries were also depleted. Had a lot of trouble getting the TV to work. 3. The pillows are just too hard. You have a hard time getting to a profound sleep because of this.

We had an awesome stay here. Not only were the staff friendly and helpful, we were pleasantly surprised to find that this motel is adjacent to a four screen drive-in movie theatre, which is apparently owned by the same entity, as we were given free passes to the movies playing that night. We stayed in Room 8, or I believe 11. Each room is styled after a movie star (our room was Marilyn Monroe), with some accompanying decor. Our room was impeccably clean and in great shape. Despite movies playing late into the night it was very quiet in the rooms. The beds were supportive and I slept well and had a very comfortable shower the next morning. I would love to stay here again. It is a hidden gemstone in the Burlington VT area.
