My New Happy Place: The Travelodge Near Peterson AFB! (Seriously, You Guys Rock!)
Alright, buckle up, because I'm about to gush about my recent stay at the Travelodge in Colorado Springs, right by Peterson Air Force Base. I've stayed in my fair share of hotels, but this place? It's not just a hotel; it's an experience, and it's all thanks to the incredible humans who work there.
From the moment I walked in, the vibe was just right. The folks at the front desk are pure magic. There was one evening, after a particularly long day of exploring, when I realized I'd left my phone charger in the last city. I walked up to the desk, looking like a lost puppy, and before I could even finish my sentence, one of the wonderful ladies behind the counter, with a twinkle in her eye, said, "Rough day, huh? Don't worry, we've got a spare charger you can borrow!" It was like she read my mind! Another morning, I was trying to figure out the best route to a hiking trail, and one of the gentlemen at the desk pulled out a map, circled the perfect spot, and even gave me a pro-tip about a hidden waterfall. It wasn't just directions; it was a mini-adventure planning session!
They don't just check you in; they make you feel like you've just arrived home, and they're genuinely invested in making your stay fantastic.
And let's talk about the breakfast situation. Oh. My. Goodness. The person who makes breakfast every morning deserves a medal, a parade, and maybe their own cooking show! This individual is not just serving food; they're orchestrating a culinary masterpiece.
One morning, I watched as a fresh batch of waffles came out, and this breakfast hero stood by, beaming, as if they'd just won the lottery. They kept everything spotless, replenished, and perfectly warm. It was like they were personally guarding the golden gates of breakfast heaven, ensuring every single guest got a perfect plate.
You could feel the pride and care in every single item. It truly set the tone for the day – a day fueled by deliciousness and good vibes.
Honestly, this Travelodge isn't just a place to lay your head; it's a place where genuine hospitality shines brighter than the Colorado sun. Every interaction, every little gesture, made me feel valued and cared for. If you're looking for a place that goes above and beyond, where the staff treats you like family (the good kind!), then this is your spot. A massive, heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making my stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable and, dare I say, fun! I'm already planning my next...
Read moreI just vacated a rental house I lived in over the last year, and decided I would stay a week at the Travelodge with my girlfriend to decide we were going to stay permanently. I liked the decent pricing this hotel had on the large king suites, The woman at the front desk actually upgraded me to one at no cost when I checked in, I was thrilled. The room was spacious and did have a stopped up bathroom sink, but it looked promising. I had a late check in. There was a lot of activity in the parking lot with what looked to be an unmarked police vehicle late on the third night I was there. I heard a tow truck come haul a vehicle away, and my girlfriend said that the room phone rang while I was gone getting snacks at the gas station. I called the front desk they said they didn't know who called but they asked for room 308. I thought nothing of it and we went to sleep. The next day around noon I have a gentleman from the front desk knocking on my door saying that they were asking me to leave due to police activity ( which obviously I had zero interaction with the police and was quite shocked ) I proceeded to inquire as to what exactly happened and the front desk employee said he didn't know but I had to leave immediately and asked me if I could be out by 12:30. I asked the front desk clerk if he even knew what my name was, he answered incorrectly and then stated well it doesn't matter you need to leave. so I was kicked out of a room for something that was completely unrelated to me whatsoever. so I had to pack up all the perishables that I had bought and unpacked and put into the refrigerator for the week and put all of these things back into my car and then go find another place to stay all because of this hotel's lack of due diligence. I was a complete gentleman to the staff, just very inquisitive and left quietly. however this was very irritating and I thought that I should share that your state may not be secure if you choose to rent a room...
Read moreAlrighty....I booked this room based on the proximity to Peterson SFB. I was in town to attend an event at the Base. I was not expecting anything "fancy", BUT, I was expecting "Clean and Tidy". This motel completely FAILED on all accounts for this. To be fair, the staff members were all very cordial and helpful. But the physical spaces are in dire need of renovation. It is as if the motel was built, but NOTHING has been done to keep it all in good working condition. The key pass failed in the lock several times and I had to get it reissued. The lighting in the room is highly inadequate. The curtains are hanging off fallen the rod. The window had no sheers, and since we were on the 1st floor facing the garbage dumpster/mini-mart, we had to keep them closed whenever we were in the room. The TV did not function correctly and the remote was worthless, as it was not calibrated to the TV set. There were only two wall sockets and one multi-use extension cord (used for the TV, Coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave). One wall socket was next to the tiny sink in the bedroom, the other behind the stand that separated our beds. The bedding was well worn with cigarette burns in the quilt. The bed skirts did not even fit the beds. The pillows were well used and uncomfortable. There was no closet, just a rack on the wall by the room door. The bathroom was a shower/tub and toilet. The shower curtain smelled musty/moldy. The wallpaper is ripped and peeling, the ceiling had water damage, and the LVP flooring has separated/bubbled in places. As I said, for the price point, I only expected "servicable" and "Clean and tidy". My family member and I are praying we escaped without bedbugs or fleas. While this is a posted "No Smoking" venue, the hallways had a definite marijuana stench. We could not get out of there...
