Stayed here one night as an overnight stop on a road trip. All on all the hotel is perfectly adequate and average, but priced well for the produce we received. The staff was professional and courteous in all interactions. The room was clean and well kept up despite being a bit on the older side. A remodel or renovation should be done in the next few years but probably not necessary yet. Bedding was clean and bed bug free. (We check for cleanliness and sanitary issues in all hotel rooms thoroughly before bringing anything into the room). All in all, could need some updating, but no complaints here for the price. We did use the pool and hot tub and i would describe the experience there as mildly disappointing. The pool itself was very small, and the hot tub as too shallow with weak jets. There were also chairs but only one or two small tables in the pool area so it was difficult to find a safe and dry place to set phone, glasses, and clothing worn from room to pool. Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast fare and everyone in my family found something to eat. Kids had waffles... Wife and i had mini omelet, sausage gravy and biscut, and sausage links. The gravy was like warm but their was a microwave available to heat it up. The food was fine, but nothing to get excited about. One quirk of our room was that we ended up in a handicap accessible room, though we did not request or need one. If you need a handicap room you should stay away from this place. There was a bench in the shower, and tfhe metal bars to hold onto. However it was still a shower and full bathtub combo, so no easy access into the shower without climbing over the side of the tub. To make this worse, the floor level outside the tub is about 3 inches lower than that in the tub. When i was getting in, the side of the tub felt awkwardly high to get over, and getting out the height difference was quickly forgotton causing me to stumble on the way out as the floor was about three inches lower than i expected. While not a tremendous height the effect is much like missing a stair on a staircase, even if you recover without falling it is quite terrifying. After the stumble i was quickly off the small floor mat and onto the glossy tile floor which is extremely slippery under wet feet. I managed not to fall, but this is really not acceptable for a handicap person. My other complaint around the bathroom was the placement of the shower head. It was off center in the wall, pushing it closer to the curtain. It was also about six inches lower than the top of my head (I'm less than six feet tall) making for a less than ideal shower. This placement may have been due to being a handicap room and may not be typical to all rooms. I feel like i complained a lot, and there are obviously issues. I would describe this place as good enough to stay for a night or two at a low price. Longer than that and i would get more annoyed at the issues. But they really do the basics well as a budget option. As long as you are not Handicap this place is the epitome of...
Read moreSo I came to this hotel because I’m visiting my father who has cancer, we’ve (my family and 1) been mostly out of the hotel since we’re seeing my father. Today, the 31st, I went to check out of my room a day early, my family was staying for a couple days later in another room. We accidentally booked one extra day. We asked for a receipt to show expedia we had checked out early to try and get a refund for that 1 unused day. They receptionist, Nicole, was very rude from the start but told us she couldn’t print anything for us, my mother told her she found that hard to believe but she would just call expedia. Nicole then told us expedia would call her and she could confirm if we checked out “but now mostly likely won’t cause you gave me attitude”. My mom asked for a manager’s number and she gave is a card. We heard nicole tell expedia we didn’t check out so we couldn’t get a refund. So we said ok fine we’ll call the hotel and lodge a complaint about this woman and just try to figure out the expedia thing later, the number she gave was the front desk number and she cockily said “you’re calling me” and told us the email was the manager’s. So I got a little heated and told her she can’t explain things clearly and was being really nasty. She screamed for us to get out and that was it. She called the cops, lied and told them she had been getting complaints all weekend about us, and now our “outburst” was the last straw. Now just for context, the show me state games were going on when we arrived and the hotel was full of young kids and parents drinking and enjoying themselves at the pool, late into the night as well. We would leave at noon and not come back until 11pm or midnight. I don’t know how we could have been making so much noise to get complained about over the children and large groups in the hotel and we weren’t there most of the day. But we were made to leave and need to find a new hotel. I also had some unpleasant interactions with two other receptionists who were just generally a little rude. This woman claims she’s been at this job for 10 years, I’ve worked as a server in a hotel and had to deal with a lot of nasty nasty customers but I never was allowed to respond in such a manner but never have I felt the need to respond in that manner to someone asking for a receipt. This woman was really awful and could have put our family at risk calling the cops on us and lying about our behavior/time at the hotel and has put us in a tricky situation trying to find...
Read moreUnfriendly personnel!!!!!!!! Check in: Front desk attendant, very defensive, unaccomidating, curt/rude when asking about the advertised $69 rate. Very short answered and repeated that our rate was $87 plus tax for $98. Never ever answered why we didn't get the $69 rate that was advertised. No coffee, tea, or hot cocoa available in the lobby or room at anytime except for breakfast. Even then NO HOT COCOA!!!!! At breakfast, the food was tasty and plentiful!! Except for cocoa/ chocolate. When I asked the attendant if there was any cocoa/hot chocolate mix available, she didn't understand anything I was saying. After 2 more attempts to explain in a way that she might understand, she went off in a huff. Suddenly, the morning attendant was standing over me with her arms crossed and definitely an aggressive and accusing speech/talk and body language. She acted and spoke in a very condescending way!! It should not have ever happened this way if the 1st attendant understood and spoke English. The language of the USA. I also understand that people are trying to succeed in America but when they don't understand me, speaking English, they should not go off in a angry huff and complain. When I told the front desk lady that all I did was ask if there was any hot cocoa/chocolate available. She responded with Quick Sharp "NO!!!" answers. Then I said every other hotel/motel where we stayed had hot cocoa. The front desk attendant then made more negative answers and body language as I "recommend that the hotel should consider making it available". She went off in condescending huff!! There was hot water in a dispenser between the caffeinated and uncaffeinated coffee dispensers but for what reason?? I had a cup of hot water expecting to find hot cocoa packets. You cannot even begin to know how surprised I was when I didn't find any cocoa packets. It was good thing too! Because the water looked like dirty coffee water. Yuck!! When we left the breakfast area, going past the front desk, the same front desk attendant was holding her pink cell phone up and texting/scrolling with little to no attention at all to anybody or...
