We were greeted as we entered the restaurant and taken to a table. My wife stepped into the restroom and I proceeded to the table and began looking through the menu, as it had been a long time since I last visited a Bob Evans. As soon as my wife joined me at the table, the waiter, was there, almost instantly, to take our drink order. He promptly returned with our drinks and asked to take our order. As we ordered, my wife ordered dry toast, which somehow rarely ever gets done. About the time I felt our food should arrive, I could overheard the waiter, Dylan, tell the kitchen that it was supposed to be dry toast. Very shortly thereafter, he arrived at the table with everything but the toast. Apologized and said he would be right back with it. Very quickly after that, he came back with the toast, a smile and a big apology. We were both shocked because he actually remembered and checked for that prior to bringing it to the table. This young man served us, and another table close to us, with an absolute sense of urgency and the smile never left his face. He was constantly on the move, cleaning or checking on his customers, and every response from his was followed with sir or ma'am and never once did we ever hear the words "no problem". The food was good, but the service from this young man made our dinner spectacular. We cannot praise Dylan highly enough for his attention to customer service, and we wish the absolute best for him in his endeavors after he graduates high school. Yes, a high school senior gave us the best service in a restaurant we have experienced in years!! Well done, Dylan and thank you for such an incredible...
Read moreStopped in on our drive between KC & STL January 2021. Confirmed the restaurant was seating socially distanced (half the tables were blocked off). Put our names on the wait list at 10:35 AM. We were seated within 10-15 minutes (great!); however, despite half capacity, there only being two of us, & what appeared to be an average number of staff, we were not served until approximately 11:40. At 11:35 I asked the manager Adam? (red-headed male) if our food would be up soon. In a very rushed, snarky tone he told us 'Your order has only been in for 24 minutes!' & walked away. His demeanor the entire visit was very disruptive.. legit barkin' out demands to his employees & very, very loud.
After we received our food, we ate & left within 20 minutes.
When paying, the manager did give my husband 20% off. We appreciated the gesture, the service provided by our server Jessica, & the food was good, but the manager needs to mellow out & work on his communication/customer service skills. Note: My husband owns a meat market/grocery store, so we're aware how the COVID-19 pandemic, especially, has affected the service industry. That's no excuse for the attitude.
After my last experience in November 2020 when I received (via delivery) cold food & rock hard rolls that I threw away, I don't believe we'll visit this...
Read moreThis was a bad experience. It has been a while since I've had such poorly prepared food. Dish 1: Breakfast combo; oily eggs, oily hashbrowns slightly burned, sausage patties hardened beyond consumability, sausage links dually burned on one side and otherwise raw, oily slice of ham, a piece of French toast cooked on greasy grill and had oily flavor to it as well. Gave up before trying pancake. Dish two: A southwest chicken bowl by name only came out with two small chicken breasts on top of breakfast potatoes with spoiled avocado scoops on top. Noticeably absent were the other ingredients, making it a southwest dish. The plate was returned to the kitchen by the server, at which point we could hear the cook arguing with our server about the quality of the dish. Dish three: A chicken noodles deep dish dinner. It came in a bowl with mashed potatoes covered by chicken soup. I guess I envisioned something else from the title. It was sad, our server was embarrassed by the food quality, but he tried and was no fault of his own. I'm not sure how the restaurant can survive with such food being pushed out of the kitchen. This is just our experience. Others may be fine. Best of luck if you...
