Walk in to such a friendly restaurant. As you come in, you seat yourself and a staff member will bring you chips and salsa when they take your drink order. Ordered: Chips & Salsa (complimentary) Small Queso Horchata Chile relleno Tacos -Tinga -chorizo -Al pastor -Asada -Carnitas The horchata was simple and refreshing. It tasted like the horchata from the powder mix which is still good but I have high expectations for horchata at a restaurant. Queso: It was cheesy and good! It’s creamy and has a nice kick. I ended up asking for extra chips to get every last drop of this! Chile relleno: Normally the chile relleno is topped with their queso sauce. I prefer a dry chile relleno (Im from northern Mexico and that’s how I’ve eaten it growing up). The batter was a bit thick but I still enjoyed it. The inside was cheesy and the chile was perfectly roasted before it was fried. You can tell a lot about a Mexican place by how they make their simplest thing on the menu, tacos! Tacos: The tacos are the mini street taco size but they don’t skimp on the meat. All tacos come with a side of salsas, onion, cilantro and radishes. I think the Tinga taco was a little dry so that was my least favorite. I loved the chorizo and carnitas tacos! The chorizo was meaty it looked more like longaniza (which is a type of chorizo). The carnitas were flavorful and crispy. I love that they took the extra time to crisp them up. That’s how they should be. The Al pastor didn’t have pineapple (which is typical) but it was still really good. Don’t forget to stop at their store which is attached to the restaurant! I picked up some Mexican candy on my way out.

Los Comales is a dining experience that leaves an impression, particularly for those with a hearty appetite and a keen taste for authentic flavors. From the moment you step in, the welcoming atmosphere hints at the culinary delights that await. The first thing you notice is the generosity of the portions, a characteristic that extends even to the drinks. It’s a pleasant surprise that adds value to the dining experience, ensuring that no one leaves hungry. The queso at Los Comales is a revelation. It strikes the perfect balance between creamy and flavorful, acting as a delightful appetizer or a companion to any dish. It's one of those rare offerings that manage to stand out, even in a menu brimming with tempting options. However, the real star of the show has to be the fajitas. Describing them as tender would be an understatement; they are succulent, seasoned to perfection, and practically melt in your mouth. Paired with soft, warm tortillas and a medley of fresh vegetables, they offer a symphony of flavors that is both satisfying and comforting. In conclusion, Los Comales is more than just a restaurant; it's a feast for the senses. The large portions ensure that it offers great value, while the quality of dishes like the queso and fajitas showcases the culinary skill at play. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, a meal at Los Comales is an experience not to be missed.

Outstanding street tacos! Several kinds to choose from chorizo, al pastor, carnitas, carne asada. Chorizo queso was delicious! This place is tucked behind another restaurant just off I-70 in Columbia MO. Definitely recommend the street tacos! It was Taco Tuesday and there was a good special of a 5 taco plate. The place was busy and full of regular customers. The staff was friendly, courteous, and made small talk. Margaritas had been ordered at several tables and you can sit at a small bar area if you want. There is a kid's menu and certainly kids are welcome. There is a Hispanic market with the restaurant. This is not a real fancy place but the food is tasty and the prices are reasonable. Casual dress.

My son went into this establishment today to see if they would cash his check. The guy there, never looked at the check, he simply told my son No!

He's went in prior to today and was told no as well. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Am I to understand that because my son talks more in English than he does in Spanish, then the answer is no? Am I to understand that your establishment accepts payments from anyone, However, not just anyone can walk in and get their check cashed? Am I to understand that only pure Spanish speaking, pure Spanish looking people can cash their checks there and have full service?

Yes my son is Hispanic, the check he has is completely legitimate. But of course this establishment wouldn't know either way because he never looked at the check! If you would've looked at the check and refused to cash it, due to policies, then I wouldn't be leaving a poor review.

Call this a rant or whichever you wish but the picking & choosing as to who you serve, how you serve them, if you serve them at all or not, is noticeable!

Have I dined there, absolutely! Will I dine there again, absolutely not! Will I refer anyone? Absolutely not!

I do...
