This review is being made out of irritation, the stay itself was fine literally had no complaints or problems for most of the stay. On the contrary the reason I state this review is being done out of frustration is due to the fact of, on the morning of checkout I take my children and wife to school and work and return to checkout. I understand the checkout time is 11 so I essentially rush to pack up our room and get out so that housekeeping can get it cleaned and ready for the next guest(s). As I’m packing my belongings a housekeeper who sees me carrying hands and arms full of items as I’m walking out the door to pack my car stops me and asks if I’m checking out and what room. For me , being management in the customer service industry wondered why does that matter, so I hesitate but tell him anyways.. whatever moving on, as I continue to move my belongings from the room to my car each trip (3-4) he asks me if I’m done repetitively I’m already irritated that the elevator is down and have to carry my belongings down 3 flights of stairs to pack my car but now I’m being pestered about how long until I’m done which makes no sense and is not hospitable to your guest(s). The 2 cherries on top for me were the fact that on the trip down before last he says “are you finally done yet?” Wow really dude straight ignorance; then I bring it to the attention of a front desk associate who I felt was very nice and helpful during the stay, and I want to assume she may be the property manager or something the way she carries herself but once I bring it to her attention she doesn’t make eye contact and just says “ok” as she folds a sheet and looks at the cameras, when I state that it’s not hospitable to pester guest upon checkout and told her it was the gentleman behind her. Now I’m not looking for the guy to get fired, scolded, reprimanded in a negative way; but if anything maybe coaching your staff and team members to refrain from doing things like that which can turn a 4-5 star experience to now a 2 star due to feeling unwelcome because ultimately that’s how I felt upon leaving. Unsure if I will return even though I stated I would the following week before all this came about. Who wants to stay somewhere you...
Read moreRoom itself was ok..hair in the bed and window was greasy. I’ve stayed a few times during my business travels to Columbus downtown area and I enjoy staying outside of the city itself. Past stays were better. I’ve watched the employees themself switch. Use to a very different hotel in the past. My last stay was enough to say I may be relocating my hotel for future travels. To come down for towels and listen to the conversations staff has about the next staff member and to see some of the sketchy stuff I’ve been seeing... cops have been here several times for car and vehicle break Ins. Company vehicles are getting busted windows. The insanity!!! Most days when I came in there is a toddler or a baby in the front desk area with staff. I don’t have time to wait for babies to switch hands to get my things taken care of. I work the entire stay and sleep and shower at my room. And back to work but hang on, I have to wait for the staff to get off of personal calls to get what I need. Or the weekends and some evenings, I’m questioning if I’m at the hotel or a beauty shop. There’s a front desk girl constantly doing hair in the weekends. I’m sure it’s a side job. But how unprofessional! Men behind the desk in the evening time.. that aren’t employees. And then on the last day I checked out. I witnessed the blonde girl Vanessa having a conversation with a man that came to the front desk to get a child which I’m pretty sure lives in the hotel room with her, but about drugs. This same man was outside by the dumpster when taking my trash out to leave the room smoking marijuana with other sketchy looking guests. This isn’t where you want to stay! Not unless the hood is...
Read morePretty cheap with furnishings to match that price! Evaluation is for a single double bed on the 2nd floor for an extended stay. PROS: Reduced rates for participating local companies; No bed bugs or critters of any kind seen; Accommodating staff (privacy, friendliness, knowledge, service); New management has remodeled; New flat screen TVs; Laundry facility on premises; Hard floors (no dirty hotel carpet, smart!); Height of bed allowed for storage underneath; Kitchenette [2 burners, sink, full refrigerator, cabinets (no oven)]; Exterior doors require a key card; Parking lot is well kept; Close to freeway, public library, restaurants and stores.
CONS: Wifi is not free but signal strength is okay; Squeaky double bed size (no queen for 2 people) - don't roll off bed!; Extra firm mattress and rough sheets (I bring sheets on long trips now); Wobbly table and 2 hard plastic chairs; No blackout curtains ($10 horizontal blinds); Room smells like a new tire store upon opening the door (from new linoleum flooring); 3rd floor is a smoker's paradise and a death trap for asthma; Disreputable guests - According to a friend upstairs, there are drug dealers on the 3rd floor that deliver door-to-door (seems the "background check" is make believe); Guests urinating in parking lot; Guests opening unlocked tailgates for a seat; Key cards reset automatically regardless of advance payments;
I suggest parking within line of sight to your room's window, don't leave valuables in the room, keep your door fully locked and don't answer it for anyone except hotel personnel (call front desk if needed to verify i.d.). No one came into our room during our stay or bothered...
