I booked this from the Best Western site as I am a loyal rewards member & it said it had just been renovated and looked great. They did not have any pictures of the surrounding area. When we pulled up at 730pm on a Friday it was a very rough looking area & there were 4 police cars parked in the parking lot. When I checked in the lady at front desk was very unfriendly & when I told her that it doesn't feel good as a guest to pull into this area with 4 police in the parking lot all she said was, "I think someone was injured, but the area is great! We went to our room which smelled of stale water, there was a long hair on the wall in the shower & what I can only assume was a pubic hair on the toilet. We got unloaded after our 8hr road trip & then we went out for a bit. When we returned at about 11pm we had to park across the street next to Denny's as there was no parking in the front of the hotel & no entrances to the hotel in the rear or on the side. I was not about to park in the back of the hotel in this dark area & Walk around the building w just me & my kids. They literally only have one entrance into this hotel which is ridiculous when it comes to parking. We were gone most of the day Saturday but when we went to leave that morning there was a man lying in the driveway(not sure if passed out or deceased). We returned & again parked next to the Denny's. Sunday one of the two elevators was not working which was horrible. When we went to leave on Sunday morning, we were standing at the elevator on the 4th floor with all of our luggage & cooler & the elevator finally came & instead of allowing us guests to take the elevator a housekeeper got on with her cart & closed the door as no room for guests. We then had to stand in the hall with all our stuff & wait for it to go all the way down & all the way back up as it was the only working elevator. We stood in the hall with all our stuff for at least 5min. The staff should have allowed the guests to go on the elevator first. Then when I went to check out the male at the desk was very rude didn't ask how my stay was or anything. My family & I stay at Best Western hotels frequently & this one definitely did not meet the standards & we will NEVER stay here again! I truly hope that management looks into the issues & addresses what they can. Something really needs to be done in regards to the parking for the guests as I am sure I am not the only one that felt unsafe parking in the back of the building & having to walk around in that...
Read moreThe room itself is excellent it’s clean and in a OK location. My review is on the service that I receive while staying here. Company has a corporate account with this hotel and many others. My stay was extended due to unforeseen reasons which my company contacted them in advance. They sent housekeeping to barge into my room all throughout the day although I left my do not disturb sign on my door. I called down to the front desk, and even though my room was extended, I was told they thought I had departed…umm whether or not I departed no one should be in my room until the pre-assigned checkout time. To add insult to injury, I walked to get some food and upon returning, I found that my key card was turned off , so I go downstairs and the person that’s at the front desk rudely decided that she was going to chastise me about the time that I planned to leave here and wouldn’t make a key for me until I agreed to call my company..mind you I am hours before it’s time for me to check out my key card should be turned on without us having to go back-and-forth on what my check out time is , trying explain to her I need to get my phone out of my room to call my company she then decided to threaten me with security .This place not only needs diversity training, but they need more than a Hispanic staff because you have more than Hispanic people who stay here !! How I was treated was disgusting . I was spoken in a demeaning way, while I stood in the lobby holding my food in my hands pretty much begging for a new key to get into a room that I will still a...
Read moreI stayed here for four nights following my arrival in LA, we arrived mid afternoon with no queues and check in was straight forward even with International ID's and Credit Cards. This was super important to us as we arrived from Dubai on a sixteen hour flight.
The Security Guard on duty was very helpful assisting us with obtaining a luggage cart and pointing out where we could purchase international travel adapters and giving us directions to the nearest Walmart.
Also we were able to park in disibility as my wife was recovering from foot surgery and had to rely on the use of crutches - we didn't had a disability parking badge and this was a nice gesture by the hotel.
In terms of the overall accommodation, the rooms are tidy and well maintained. We had a room on the second floor with my only complaint is the noise from the ice maker which was adjacent to our room - someone has to be unlucky I guess. Our room had a fridge and microwave which came in handy. However, one request for future would be that the rooms are furnished with Safety Security Boxes/Mini Safes.
Also the Dennys located across the parking lot from the main hotel lobby is sufficent to cater for all.
The immediate locale of the hotel is somewhat industrial with a large commercial/retail park with Walmart and other various outlets a 10 minute drive away. Also Citadel Outlet Mall is equally 10 minutes away on the freeway.
Overall this was a great base for traveling around greater LA with easy access to the freeway and great local amenities - 10/10 would...
