This was everything we hoped it would be, complete with sloping backyard Mountain views! The hosts, Alberta and Tony brought us in their antebellumesque mansion and made us feel instantly comfortable (we had never stayed at a real bed and breakfast), and after checking in, led us to the “anytime snacks”. These included fresh, chewy homemade chocolate chip cookies, fresh fruit and moist coffee cake with caramel boiled icing- i just know these things-, and savored the authentic detail, of which the “Inn” provides many. Be sure to stay hydrated- there is a fridge on the porch loaded with soda and water. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the room bright with a private little balcony. So quaint, looking at the stars over the blue ridge and the north Georgia Mountains. Unspeakably beautiful. Before our trip to Helen had even begun, we felt fulfilled as we drifted into sleep (this was after 4 cookies and two oranges). Breakfast is at 9, so we rushed downstairs by 8:50(we wanted to be on time, as the anticipation for our country breakfast was brimming over at this point). Alberta made sure we had a cup of (delicious) coffee and coaxed is into the dining room. Music...an old string ensemble? “Perfect,” I thought to myself as we waltzed to the table, which was adorned with various spreads and marmalade. On visibly antique, but A1 condition, awaited a beautiful fruit cocktail, by a cup of OJ. The meal came, it was out of this world quality. Our ham, cheese, and green onion omelettes were made with eggs laid just the day before, and it tasted like it! Super fresh. Execution must be our Host’s fortay because it continued on. The hash brown was crispy, seasoned, balanced, and the fresh southern biscuits rounded out all of our necessities for an A grade. I was so impressed with the meal, so happy and ready to start the day! We browsed over their mini-antique gift shop and it was time for us to go to Helen to explore. Alberta, Tony, thanks for everything! You made us feel at home and extremely taken care of. I feel like it was a good value, and I really couldn’t tell ya the last time I had a breakfast that was as enjoyable as I had at the Sautee Inn. See y’all in...
Read moreWe eloped at Brasstown Bald in Hiawassee, GA November 2024, and The Sautee Inn Bed & Breakfast became our home base for the weekend. Rebecca, Ron, and Mike went above and beyond to make our special occasion unforgettable. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality turned an already memorable weekend into a truly extraordinary one.
Although only some of our guests stayed at the Inn, Rebecca, Ron, and Mike graciously welcomed everyone for a rehearsal and reception dinner the night before our wedding. They even coordinated delicious, allergy-friendly catering with a local small business ensuring everyone could enjoy the evening.
They personally split wood for our evening bonfires, creating a cozy and magical atmosphere. Despite our efforts to tidy up afterward, their team quickly restored everything to perfection by breakfast time—which, by the way, is a five-star experience in itself! We first stayed at The Sautee Inn in November 2023 and fell in love with their heavenly breakfasts and the historic charm of the property. Naturally, we wanted to share that experience with our loved ones, and it did not disappoint. Every guest raved about the food, ambiance, and the exceptional hospitality.
One of the highlights of the weekend was our First Look, which we held on their brand-new overlook deck—a stunning addition to an already picturesque property. (I’ll be updating this review with photos soon!)
As a testament to their flexibility and kindness, our brother-in-law showed up with his puppy, and the team helped shuffle arrangements so they could stay in the Inn’s only pet-friendly suite—thankfully, it wasn’t already booked!
Since the Inn was originally a much larger space, it easily accommodated our group of 35 for dinner, with plenty of room for seating and mingling. My besties are already planning to be back next year!!
We can’t recommend this hidden gem enough. Rebecca, Ron, and Mike have created something truly special, and we’ll absolutely be back to...
Read moreFirst I want to start out by saying thank you to the most amazing couple you will ever get to meet. They are the owners of this vintage B&B and their names are Tony and Alberta. This B&B is an old but charming place. This is what we got upon arrival. We arrived and Alberta answered the door checked us in, gave us the key and showed us the house. Now you need to understand this House was built in the late 1800s so its a classic not a Hilton Inn. It has unique things to look at all over the place, fascinating things. They have a small gift shop area that has unique items to purchase. We stayed in the peach room with our balcony over looking the North Georgia mountains. They keep the house very cool and comfortable. The living room is were you can enjoy an evening show on tv or watch the news in the morning. Oh let me tell you about the food. Oh the food!!! They serve breakfast, and then at night when you return from your sight seeing adventures they will give you a dessert (if you are not too late). The breakfast is AMAZING and the dessert is not just a one bite and it’s gone kind of dessert, it’s a good dessert. I almost forgot to tell you about the coffee cake and cookies that are waiting for you when you arrive, if you want some. You will want some I promise! The coffee cake is so moist ..yummy!! They have chickens on the property and Tony let me help gather the eggs which took me back to when I lived on a farm. So if you get anything with eggs they are fresh! I walked in the front door all tensed and left feeling the most relaxed that I have felt in a long time. I would never trade staying at any upscale hotel to this wonderful B&B. Oh, if you can get the Mountain View room, it is worth the extra! Beautiful! Thank you so much Tony and Alberta and if you are ever down our way we have a room waiting for you...
