The well-known, low budget no-frills hospitality chain known as Motel 6 delivers during my stay in Corona CA! One thing that can make or break a deal for any hotel whether budget or luxury: Service. Local staff here at the Corona Motel 6 go out of their way to "leave the light on." Add to that, some little "bonus frills" of a swimming pool, guest laundry, and snack vending. The local surrounding area can get a little sketchy at night but the overnight security presence and nearby food options can ensure an inexpensive good night's rest at the Corona Motel 6. ||Booking and Reservation...Motel 6 has its own loyalty program known as My6. Saw a nice 5%-off offer when I was doing my hotel shopping but still opted to book third-party via my airline as the latter offer was a 500 point airline rewards bonus for a $62 weekday base room rate with free cancelation. Paid only $69 total for the stay after taxes. Rewards payback value toward future airfare is about $7.50 or a 12% return.||Arrival and Location...Corona's Motel 6 is located along the 91 freeway off of Lincoln Avenue in an industrial business park area, perfect for those passing through the Inland Empire and needing a quick overnight freeway stopover. Also ideal for those traveling for business in the area. A Goodfellas Café and a Speedway gas station and convenience store offer hot grub within walking distance across Lincoln Avenue from the motel; however I would be extra vigilant if walking about after dark, especially to/from the gas station. Public transit into the property is also limited with the nearest bus stop located across the freeway overpass at 6th street; thus best to ensure one has a vehicle or access to a ride or a rideshare service before booking a room. ||The Lobby...A small no-frills but spotless walk-in check-in area that is open during the daytime hours to check in, check out, and conduct other motel business. It being October during my stay, staff decorated the area with some nice Halloween décor. During the off-hours, hotel business gets taken care of via an outside window in a covered area. A security guard is also present in the area during the night hours too who makes routine patrols throughout the property.||Check-in...Process went smoothly and this is where this location shines. They located my reservation and checked my ID. No incidentals deposit. Motel guests park free and parking is enforced via printed parking voucher. I was staying over during a weekday and the inn was not full; thus, the lady at the counter was kind enough to ask me my room location preference: Downstairs? Upstairs? I've opted for a room near the pool and they accommodated. Motel 6 issues standard key cards that get inserted into card slots to access rooms, the pool and other private areas.||The Commons Areas and Corridors...Motel 6 Corona has a typical two-story motel layout shaped like a giant letter "U" with access to the rooms on both sides of the building. Concrete stairs link the upper and lower levels, no elevators. The pool area is also situated in the center of the "U". Some areas of the exterior commons were showing some visible signs of aging but nothing bothersome.||The Room...Clean and tidy upon arrival. Room appeared to be recently renovated under Motel 6's Phoenix Project with simple contemporary furniture and fixtures. Typical motel room layout with the bedroom up front and the bathroom area in the rear. Being a no frills inn, no in-room coffee pot, refrigerator or microwave. However, they had a very simple means to access the free Wi-Fi: Motel 6 issues a standard Wi-Fi code at check-in. Just type that in as the network passcode and you're in. Good speeds too! The room's bathroom was pretty standard: Functioning toilet and single walk-in shower behind the bathroom door with an open area contemporary-style sink, counter and dressing space. The room's AC and Heating also ran via a central HVAC system; thus no noisy machines by the window.||Motel Amenities...This Motel 6 has a few "bonus frills". They have a pool area (minus the jacuzzi) that is open 'til 10pm each night. Separate towels were available upon request at the lobby for guests. The opening of the "U" of the building layout where the pool is located faces the 91 freeway; thus there will be some traffic noise heard within the pool area; didn't bother me and I really cannot complain considering this is a budget hotel. Motel 6 also had a small private indoor guest amenity area located near the pool with snack/drink vending, ice machines, and laundry.| |Overall...I had a few unexpected bonuses at a no-frills budget Motel 6. As mentioned, the great hospitality and service from the friendly local staff is what made this stay special. These are things one doesn't expect to see at a Motel 6 of all places. Corona Motel 6 is a great resting spot for overnight freeway stopovers and local area business travelers thanks to the nearby convenience store and restaurant. I would just be cautious if out and about after dark, especially near the gas station area. However, the presence of the overnight security is a plus and if you have business in Corona or passing through the Inland Empire and need a simple bed and bath for the night, this Motel location may suit you. Their great employees will "leave the light...

Rating: ★★★★☆
Nestled in the heart of Southern California's picturesque Corona, the Motel 6 exudes a sense of understated charm and tranquility. As a seasoned travel writer, I have had the privilege of experiencing numerous accommodations, but the Motel 6 in Corona truly stands out for its remarkable blend of affordability, cleanliness, and serene ambiance.
Upon entering the premises, I was immediately struck by the well-maintained exterior and the welcoming demeanor of the staff. The check-in process was swift and hassle-free, setting a positive tone for my stay. The professionalism and warmth of the staff certainly contributed to my sense of comfort throughout the visit.
The highlight of my stay, undoubtedly, was the impeccably clean and thoughtfully appointed room. The minimalist design aesthetic was both modern and functional, offering everything one needs for a restful night's sleep. The crisp linens on the cozy bed were a welcoming sight after a long day of exploring the area. The attention to detail was evident, with a workspace that catered to business travelers and ample storage options that suited both short and extended stays.
Despite its budget-friendly nature, the Motel 6 managed to maintain an air of tranquility that belied its price point. The serenity of the surroundings made it easy to forget that the bustling city was just beyond the walls. I found myself enjoying a peaceful night's sleep, undisturbed by noise from neighboring rooms or outside traffic.
While the motel doesn't offer an extensive array of amenities, it delivers on the essentials. The well-maintained swimming pool was a refreshing escape during the daytime heat, and the free Wi-Fi kept me connected without any issues. Additionally, the convenient location of the motel allowed for easy access to local attractions, dining options, and shopping centers.
One area that the Motel 6 could potentially enhance is its breakfast offerings. While the absence of an on-site restaurant wasn't a deal-breaker, a simple continental breakfast or coffee service would be a welcome addition to enhance the guest experience.
In conclusion, the Motel 6 in Corona, CA, proved to be a gem that exceeded my expectations in terms of affordability, cleanliness, and serenity. It's a prime example of how a well-managed establishment can offer budget-conscious travelers a comfortable and memorable stay. Whether you're a solo adventurer seeking a peaceful retreat or a business traveler in need of a restful night's sleep, this motel comes highly recommended. I left with a sense of satisfaction, certain that I had discovered a hidden oasis that offers a harmonious blend of...
Read moreI had a horrible experience with this Motel 6 with the address 200 N Lincoln Ave, Corona, CA 92882. Will not stay here for any reasons.
I booked five days there. The first day, the staff gave me the room that already had a guest. The room already occupied by another guest. The guest came out and told me he just got the room earlier. He showed me the number which matched with the number on my card too. I went to talk to the office. The staff gave me a new room.
I could not get into my room the next day. The staff told me I might place my card key next to the cell phone or a car key caused the card not working; which I did not. On the second day, the staff called me and told me they need to move me to a different room because the current room needed a maintenance. She was not able to disclose the reason for the type of maintenance when I asked. I told her I could not do it at that moment, because I had my bag and stuff and felt tired and just wanted to rest. It was around 6 PM, exactly the moment right after I got back into the room. I told her I could move all of my stuff in the morning and checked with the office around 5 AM. I did check with the office and asked a gentleman who worked on that day what type of maintenance. He told me there was bugs found in other room next to mine; they needed the whole entire section treated. He gave me a new card for a new room.
The third day, my card was not working and I could not get into the room. I went to the office. The staff told me, I had to check in daily even I already paid for the whole five-day stay. I requested a non-smoking area, but the room smell like someone just smoked in there. I could understand that they can't control the guests on this issues.
The fourth day, I checked with the office and told the staff that I would turned in the card key now and would get it back later today because I had to check in daily as instructed. The staff told me that it shouldn't be checking daily because I already booked five days and there should not be any issues with the card key at all (card not working due to cell phone or car key placed next to it). She gave me two card keys to prevent me check in daily.
The fifth day, I asked the staff to print out the receipt. She told me the machine is not working and would take at least 15 to 20 min. She would send it later. I've never got it.
I could not get my reimbursement on the day I got there. I had to stay there due to budget. I learned from this and never stay at any motel 6 even with a low fee. You could risk your whole entire week just dealing with issues that should...
