Place is horrible first off the room is outdated and everything is broken !!! The manager and the rest of the front desk staff are liers and really will tell you anything to take your money !!! Me and my family made the mistake to book here for Christmas as I’m doing work for the government in the area I specifically told them I needed kind of long term they said it was no problem to extend everyday they have worked there for years and have never seen it booked ever I always double checked with the manager go also said it won’t get booked full so will be no issue he will extend us everyday !! Literally not even 34 hours later we get a phone call to our room at 1052 am 8 minutes before check out that they are fully booked and we have to leave after explaining to the staff my whole family has covid and our daughter was just in the hospital we were assured this wouldn’t happen !! They said there is nothing they can do but give us one hour to get out now mind you my wife had to do all this her self as I couldn’t even walk to pack anything I spent the whole night throwing up in the hotel room !!! As we are leaving the people have the nerve to ask why we didn’t clean the room lmao because I paid you to do it and you gave me a hour to get my stuff out so my main goal is my property not your crap trash hotel room . For one you shouldn’t even be renting the room to anyone after a whole family had covid staying in the room !!!! Not only did they try charging me 300 dollars which I just put as fraud and they blocked the charge on my account so I didn’t pay a damn thing to these grimmy lowlifes . But if you got covid from staying here after Christmas I’m very sorry and I hope your doing ok we begged the hotel not to rent the room we didn’t even care to stay there after that we just wanted to make sure we didn’t get some innocent person deathly ill !! I left a note in one of the drawers explaining to the next guest the hotel didn’t care about there safety or health just taking there money and that we told them so they literally did it without a care for you or your family !!!! Not to mention we had to contact the front desk 10 times because some ignorant person park in the blue lines and on the ramp of the handicap spots !! I was in one handicap spot and someone else was in another and this ignorant lowlife parked between us which caused it so we couldn’t even open our car doors to leave the hotel with our handicap child because of it !!! The hotel said these words exactly . We don’t take registration we have no idea who car it is nothing we can do !!! I said o really so you can’t call the cops ? Can’t call your tow company they are not only parked illegally but on the sidewalk of the handicap accessible area and they say this is not our problem so nothing we can do !!! That’s nice just spit in the face of a disabled child who cares rite ????? Well I decided to handle it myself and I’m pretty sure those lowlifes won’t ever park in an illegal spot again that’s for sure !!!! Not after the consequences I laid out for them !!!! Save your money your time and your family from a disaster crap show and stay anywhere far from here !!!! Hilton should be disgusted to call this place a Hilton chain !!! Not to mention it’s attached to an old people place for rehabilitation so it’s literally ran like a state grave site !!! You are better off staying in a motel in the sticks with no electric then staying in this crap hotel . Everything in the hotel was broken literally...
Read moreIf all you care about is clean, then this place should be fine. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't overly clean, but it was acceptably clean. They certainly don't go out of their way to make sure that every nook and cranny is taken care of, or bother mopping the kitchen floor of the rooms. The problem we had with this hotel, was the layout of the rooms, the disrepair of the furniture/room, and the quality of the breakfast.
We stayed in at two double bed, one bedroom room suite, but in order to get to the bedroom you have to walk through the bathroom. That means no one can leave the bedroom if somebody's in the bathroom. Certain things should have been provided with the room, but weren't. For example, no kitchen towel, only one glass in the cupboard, and no dish cloth or sponge. We could have asked for these things, but we got in late and I just didn't care to spend any more time on the problem.
There were multiple pieces of furniture in the room that weren't working. The television couldn't keep a clear station for more than 5 minutes (and there wasn't a cloud in the sky so it wasn't weather related). The table was so wobbly that it could barely hold a glass of water without spilling. The main door to the hallway didn't close all the way without kicking it. The bedroom door to the bathroom wouldn't stay shut. The bottom drawer of the dresser in the main living room wouldn't stay closed. I heard from other guests in the morning that their rooms were in similar condition.
Now let's talk about breakfast. Let's face it, the one thing you want on a long vacation weekend is a good breakfast. On Sunday, the breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 AM. We arrived at breakfast at 9 a.m. . They were already out of bacon, they ran out of waffle mix cups so they told people to use ketchup cups (4 fills to make 1 small waffle), the skim milk and 2% milk had been sitting out for at least an hour and was warm, there were no forks or knives, all toppings for the waffles were gone and were not being replenished. The food area was filthy and the tables weren't wiped down. The breakfast area was not busy. Only 3/4th of the tables were filled and most were just sitting there drinking coffee. The staff appeared to do their best, but they were never able to catch up. Unfortunately, they also didn't know how to prepare the food. The waffle mix was way too thick and was barely coming out of the container. I made the kitchen staff aware of the problem, but they made no attempt to fix the issue. When they ran out of bacon, they substituted sausage patties. However, instead of cooking them on the stove top, the way they should have been, they put them in the microwave. Some of them were cooked all the way through (and tasted like rubber), and some of them were not cooked at all. The eggs were still watery and we're not cooked.
Overall, I feel cheated. We saved up our Hilton points and spent 40,000 of them at this hotel. We left hungry, many things in the room were broken, and the layout made it difficult to get around the 1 bedroom suite. Skip this place and find a different Homewood suites, because this place was definitely not representative of the others we have stayed at...
Read moreI am a healthcare worker (physician) and stay at this location frequently when I am working in the area. Let me start by saying the rooms are clean and spacious but the management leaves a lot to be desired of. Once I got to this hotel after working a long night shift to just sleep there for a few hours and the checking in process took almost half an hour. The front desk manager (VC) told me that they do not have authorization from my healthcare organization to charge the company's credit card. Well turns out that they do not follow standard procedures like other hotels in the area and they often do not get credit card authorizations from my company and somehow that is my fault. I have spoken to other hotels I stay in this area about this and they have never has this issue. Therefore, I decided to use my personal credit card for this stay as I did not want to deal with this after a draining night shift. Meanwhile, VC at the front desk decided that although we were still working on this she was going to ignore me and start taking care of the person behind me while I am still waiting for my keys to the room which eventually I did get. After reaching the elevator I realized she had forgotten to write my room number as she was too busy focusing on the other customer who was in line being me (fyi he was complaining how his room was dirty and if he could get another night free to stay). Initially, I disregarded this experience as one off but during my next stay of 6 nights two days later, I requested housekeeping on 4th day (most hotels in NJ provide it once during the stay and some are doing it everyday even without a request and being a doctor I am pretty certain by now COVID does not jump off at you from bed sheets and towels because if it did I would get it every day). Although I checked in on Friday and due to leave Thursday by 11am, I was told that I can only get housekeeping on Thursday, so no housekeeping in a 6 nights stay because it doesn't fit their schedule. If this hotel treats a healthcare worker (wearing scrubs btw) who is a Hilton Diamond Member and is staying away from his family to care of patients in a global pandemic like this, I can only imagine what their attitude is towards others. I am going to be cancelling all my future reservations at this site. My advice is if there is any professional travelling for work they should not even consider this place, there is a home2 Suites (10 min drive) in Rahway that is a much better option. Given that this is my first ever google review about anything and that I have chosen to write this after working 12 hours today you can only imagine the disrespect and frustration I feel. I would strongly recommend staying away...
