Hop Hing — Restaurant in Cranford

Making a delivery order took a full hour wait after the initially told me 5-15min with the restaurant only being a 4min drive from me. I waited up to 30min in the back entrance as requested in vain only for them to incessantly call 20min later disrupting my evening classes. I figured if I don't receive my order, someone working would have to pay for it so I called back.

Upon accepting my order, I missed a portion of my class to literally eat rice, seafood, & ribs with my HANDS because they didn't include utensils. The seafood delight had jumbo shrimp incorporated, but even taking a bite of one tasted like it was the seafood pieces were going bad being the consistency was slimy, mushy as if it's already spoiled. Not to mention the main reason I added the seafood delight is this lady specified it is an $18 minimum for delivery so I added more just to have a crazy story to tell & am upset stomach thereafter.

On top of that, I ordered boneless spare ribs hoping for juicy bite size pieces but instead had extremely dry spare rib with bones and cartilage. Ironically enough, the lady with a Filipina accent who took my order verified boneless spare rib tips to still have the order complely wrong. Plus, forgetting to add utensils so I had to pretend to enjoy the meal for my sanity eating all this hands to mouth despite all the mistakes made.

Needless to say, the seafood delight was the complete opposite of delight(more like disgust) considering my stomach did somersaults the next day from what could've only been FOOD POISONING from the rancid seafood. If the seafood is slimy as it's being cooked, please don't serve it to your patrons so at least I'm the final person that has this surprise experience from your...

Ate here tonight. We have been looking for a new place to go for Chinese. THIS IS NOT IT. Mediocre, tasteless, and cold. It's Saturday night. The first string should be at the woks. This was like going to a Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast cooking Chinese food. The Orange Chicken was just tasteless, with gloppy coated chicken. The pan fried dumplings were both burnt and cold. I don't know how that happens, but once again tasteless...like they were sitting around. Nothing fresh happening in that dumpling. The spare rib tips were lame as well. The only highlight in the entire bag were the Shrimp Egg Rolls. I honestly cannot make an argument to return here. I wish it was good....it wasnt. Please tell me where the decent Chinese food is in the area....

I would give ZERO stars if I could. I’ve been searching for a good Chinese restaurant and was referred to Hop Hing. Unfortunately, my experience was horrendous. I placed an order before work as it was a lunch order. When I got to work, two of the wings were completely white on the top so threw them out. As I was about to start eating the remainder of my order, I noticed that the chicken I had was RAW! When I called the restaurant they asked me to bring the food back that I had and instead of replacing the whole order just replaced two chicken wings.
