First of all, for the price of the room I was SHOCKED how friendly and helpful the staff were. Housekeeping came in like stealth cleaning ninjas and tidied up the room without us ever even seeing a cart outside. Never once had to request extra towels or anything of that sort as the room was well stocked. Of course the place has some wear and tear, the building is 30 years old and it's a budget friendly hotel. We swam in the pool which was clean save for a few leaves that had blown in as nature is prone to do. We booked 2 rooms and due to an issue on our end wound up coming down a day later than planned but the staffed ensured we still had rooms next to each other when we arrived. The hotel was heavily occupied by contractors from a well known cable company and they did some drinking and socializing in the evenings but the staff made sure their rooms were on the perimeter of the property and families were placed in the rooms at the courtyard with easy access to the pool. There is no business center but the front desk happily assisted us with anything we needed in that regard. The rooms were furnished with a mini-fridge, coffee make and microwave so snacks in the room were manageable, and Denny's is attached to the property. We were able to request a late check-out with no pushback from staff (a rare occasion I have found in my travels) and were able to grab a hot shower after swimming with the manatees before we hit the road for our next adventure. Speaking of manatees, I do NOT recommend using "Sea Daddy's Adventures N Diving" that is a few miles down the road. Other than our poor experience with the manatee trip I have to say I am in LOVE with Crystal River. It has a small town feel and hospitality with some amazing activities nearby. Stop in at the Military Surplus store and the Crystal River Museum while you are in town. We can't wait to come...
Read moreThis place has the worst internet I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. I travel for work so I bring my entertainment and work with me to each new place, which requires me to use the internet they have available. You can’t play your game here. Connecting a console or pc to this hotels WiFi will have you raging left and right. Not only is it laggy but the internet just cuts out randomly so it’s hit or miss if you even are able to get in the game let alone STAY in the game. I bring my fire stick with me as well so I do t ah e to deal with ads or cable in general. Coming here I should’ve just left it at home because I can’t watch a single show through to the end without it buffering 25 times, cutting out completely 3 times, and just not Loding the movie or title screen. It’s absolutely ridiculous in this day and age to have such horrible WiFi when people’s livelihood and enjoyment come straight from the internet. Do better. Spend the extra money and get better WiFi AND get those WiFi extenders too so the whole complex can actually have WiFi. I’ve been cursing this place from day 1 since I can’t play my game or watch one of my shows after a...
