Check in was slow because other groups in front of us were asking many questions of the solitary person on reception, including a French party with limited knowledge of English. The receptionist was very pleasant and used her best endeavours to help, and we were happy to use our own reasonable knowledge of French to translate. When we got to our room, we noticed a smell in the bathroom and saw faeces floating in the toilet. Very unpleasant, although it did flush away, so we were at least able to use the toilet ourselves after a long journey and delays on check in.|||This made us wander whether the room had been serviced after the previous guests, but rest of the room seemed ok, the bed was made, and the sheets appeared to be clean. Also, after a long journey, we just wanted to find a restaurant and get something to eat, and therefore, although we complained to the receptionist, and accepted the $20 refund offered, we decided not to request another room. As we were staying two nights, we also opted in for the room to be serviced the following day, and found that some or our own toiletries, in addition to those supplied by the hotel, had been thrown away. There appears to be a trend which we also found at other USA hotels on this trip, to have to opt in for rooms to be serviced, which may be a remnant from Covid days , but I suspect has been retained to save on staff costs, rather than for health or eco reasons.|||Breakfast was fairly basic, with the usual dreaded cardboard plates and plastic cutlery, and no bagels, waffles, or pancakes or other extras which we had found at other hotels on this trip, and a more limited selection of most other items. The sausage patties and cheese omelettes were however fresh and quite tasty, but there was no ketchup or other sauces. We were also told that they were running things down as they were due to close for the season at the end...
Read moreI thought I would love this hotel as the location is great and the staff seemed amazing! After my stay, I do not think as highly. I came home with bed bugs and after telling the hotel that, they said they had pest control look and didn't find anything. Funny how 14 days after I left there, I didn't receive another bite, and my previous bites started to disappear and stop itching. Also, we requested a handicap room which ended up being in the furthest building away, and they admitted the only thing that made it handicap was "the shower chair". Just wait, theres more! My cousin found old, leftovers in the fridge the day she got there(YUCK) and my towels had long black hair stuck in between them, and no one in my family has anywhere close to black hair. The bathroom's seemed nice but the vent was super loud and you could not turn it off, and our shower took over an hour to drain after we turned off the water(I stood in at least 2 inches of dirty water while showering). The food was ok. The staff running the kitchen had the sweetest people there, but they didn't heat up the food before putting it out... they expected the heaters to do everything, leaving us with cold food half of the time! Last but not least, the parking was horrendous unless you got there at 4pm and stayed for the night. Even when you had a spot, trying to back out was almost impossible. I am extremely disappointed in my stay and unless something changes, I will NEVER be staying there again and you really shouldn't either. Spend the extra few dollars and go to the hotels right...
Read moreAt first glance, this place is OK. Older, roadside motel look, but rooms are easy to get to. We had a large, 2-room suite with a king and queen in separate bedroom, and the bathroom area was also separate, with yet another door separating the shower and toilet. Unique but useful layout. The beds were comfortable. Pool was by far the largest indoor pool of every hotel we stayed on our 2-week trip, and there's a nice little raised platform area with more comfortable seating that was nice. Breakfast was in the main lobby and was decent. There were iPads on the tables for people to take selfies. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but on closer inspection, there were a couple real problems. Our bathroom had mold growing on the wall and ceiling. There is zero ventilation in there, and the toilet tank was leaking. One of the 2 sinks wouldn't drain well. The walls had been painted over several times and the paint was bubbling and peeling in several spots. The bathroom was overall pretty gross when you started looking at it. Not the greatest room, but we did stay in one that was worse. I would maybe look around a bit if you're able.
Update: the response from BW is false. Our room had 2 sinks. It was a double vanity. And I watched the water coming out of the base of the toilet myself. The mold is prevalent and easy to spot as it incorporates a good 2 square foot area and is black mold on white walls and ceiling, so either this hotel thinks we stayed in a different room (please check again) or are lying, which...
