Not a single visible employee wearing a mask. These people apparently do not care for their customers, or one another. Food mediocre. I won't be back. Same for Dairy Queen next door.
MY APOLOGIES! THIS REVIEW WAS INTENDED FOR THE DQ AND Taco Johns in Hot Springs, SD.
Fast food is widely considered essential business during a health crisis. As a former food franchise operations manager, I know that most health departments require some minimal hair covering for everyone engaged in food service while on duty. There are multiple good reasons for those rules. Likewise, when we are aware that a highly contagious, largely droplet/aerosol spread disease is spreading through our population, we have a duty and obligation to the health of our customers, as well as to our fellow workers, to take every reasonable precaution to insure that our operations minimize the spread of the disease. In the current crisis that takes the form of social distancing, wearing mask, and taking extra care in keeping our work areas sanitary. I believe my DQ food server in Custer, SD WAS wearing a mask, however improperly. Effectiveness of a mask requires that it fully cover both nose and mouth.
Because food service has a very high potential to become a vector for disease, remaining open for business during a pandemic must be considered a privilege, and food service workers must be especially careful to observe their duty not to become a threat to each other, or to the public. In addition to usual precautions, this means staying away from work if you even suspect you might not be well, as well as properly wearing a face mask and physical distancing. Cover your sneezes, wash your hands frequently and carefully, and keep your clothes clean.
Personal liberty always comes with the personal responsibility not to become a threat to the health, welfare and...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I have ever had at Dairy Queen in general. Usually in Custer they’re nice and get the order correct, but this time neither of the two happened. First off, the workers were incredibly rude. It’s okay to have a bad day, but not when you’re practically yelling at customers, glaring at them, and slamming the window. I ordered a chocolate brownie extreme blizzard, and received a blizzard that was brown, but it was because it was filled with cinnamon. I don’t even know what it was. I think that messing up an order once is okay, people make mistakes, but it happened twice. We went back through the drive through to let them know, where the worker rudely asked what we wanted. Dairy Queen was not busy and we just said they gave us the wrong blizzard and they made us a “new” one. This one was cinnamon again even after telling them what we actually ordered. She handed us the blizzard and slammed the window shut and turned the lights off. She was extremely rude about the situation and I expect to get a refund due to the terrible service and getting two disgusting cinnamon blizzards that I...
Read moreI’m trying to find the words to write in my review for this establishment.
When placing my order at the drive-thru, the girl was hard to understand, she couldn’t understand me. There was confusion on the order for EVERY SINGLE ITEM I ordered. I had no clue if they’d get it correct. I think it was the manager who was the MOST rude person I have ever encountered at a restaurant. I asked for a lid for my blizzard because I was going to eat it later at the hotel and she rolled her eyes and basically tossed one out the window to me. Like I did something wrong. And she said “that’s it”. I then said we were still waiting on a dipped cone. She walked off without saying anything. I even asked if I had done something wrong.
I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone until the whole team goes through some serious customer service training. Service was also...
