Easily the best location to stay in Danville and one of the best and most unique properties I have stayed at in the entire mid-atlantic region. I have been traveling to Danville for business for several years and stayed everywere and nothing compares to Vantage. I have only used it for short term 1-2 night stays but the units are made for longer term. Full kitchens that are completely stocked- and I mean completely- like machine dishwashing soap, bagged ice in the freezer, pots and pans and real wine glasses you name it. complete washer/ dryer with pods waiting to be used. It's located in the River District so I can walk to 6+ resturaunts, coffee in the morning down the street, Happy hour at Mucho the mexican resturaunt- literally you would not have to leave the area for a week if you had to.
The uniqueness of the property is that it in an "art flat" and what that means is that whomever built this spent a massive amount of time and money on the architecture, furniture and literally the art inside/ outside the buiding and in every room. I had the chance to peek in a couple other rooms and everything is different and custom. The building itself is a mash-up of two very old structures that have been completly restored and has all kinds of unique angles. There are so many walls that do not have a 90 degree angle its beautiful. Custom furniture in many cases is built into these angles and nooks. Nothing from the furniture standpoint came from any type of mass retailer, literally its as if they had it all made specific to this property.
Everything is new so the beds are awesome, super clean and everything works. Jeff is super easy going guy and easy to get the door/ room codes and I'm on my way.
It's a bit shocking to find this attention to detail is in Danville, VA. Literally you might expect to find something like this in NYC but if you did literally it would be $1,000 a night. The room I stayed in was huge and with what must be 14+ foot ceilings in most rooms it just makes them feel even larger.
Absolutly coming back before people realize what they have here and they...
Read moreI'm not even entirely sure where to start with this place....these apartments are REALLY cute. Cool historic building right downtown Danville. Tons to do withing walking distance. The owner of this place definitely put allot of care into putting every inch of this building together and it shows, we had a very extended stay so the rates were good for everything they provided BUT (I know there always has to be a but 😭) the housekeeping could use some serious serious work ... I mean...we stayed in multiple different units (4-5 of them) and they were ALL super dirty. I mean I even found myself curled up in a blanket covered in somebody's dried up fluids 🤢 the floors hadn't been swept let alone mopped and I'm not sure if the rugs had been vacuumed a single time since they came out of the box. Unfortunately that wasn't the worst part. The building was also severely infested with ants...they got into everything...i left my duffle bag on the floor in the closet I had ants all in my clothes..I mean we had to throw away a couple hundred dollars worth of food because they were in EVERYTHING. You could sit on the couch and watch the carpet move...And God forbid you don't rinse a coffee mug...it was not only rather aggravating to deal with (it makes it very hard to relax when you're sharing your space with 200 critters) but it was extremely disappointing because again....these were very nice very well thought out apartments. The owner was extremely nice and super accommodating. I mean anything we needed whenever we needed it and it appeared to be news to him when we explained what was going on. Hopefully by now they've gotten things straightened out (we stayed in August -September of 23) ... overall I really would recommend this place but just...keep an eye out and maybe put your groceries in the fridge to be on the...
Read moreI highly recommend staying at the Vantage Art Flats on a vacation or staycation. Our unit in the historic brick building was clean and comfortable. It had a mid-century, modern decor with a nod to history. Example: The headboard of the bed was an enlarged postcard of historic downtown Danville! I appreciated the small details to attention including the gourmet snacks and coffee and good reading material. We were within walking distance of a coffee shop, the farmers market, a brewery, restaurants, a book store, wine tasting, an art collective, and a food truck rodeo. An added bonus was visiting with the artist-in-residence in the studio next door. Any minor problems we encountered were quickly resolved. We are already...
