We thought we’d give Cotton a second try from a previous mediocre experience while family was visiting. The dining experience was horrible from start to finish. We got seated next to the waitress counter. It took a while to get anyone over to our table. We ordered some beers and spinach artichoke dip app. After watching the bartender be a jack wagon trying to, unsuccessfully, impress a group of folks and train a new bartender I walked up and ordered the beers myself. The new bartender couldn’t pour a couple beers. Take a look at the pic of our app. We thought the amount of bread that came with the dip was a mistake. The waitress said no it wasn’t but we could order more for another $3.50. I told them we didn’t want it and that’s when the manager said he’d ‘comp’ us more bread. You could tell the dip was warmed from frozen. We were all feeling like a burger and through conversation the waitress told us all the burgers were frozen patties. We couldn’t believe $15+ burgers were frozen. Two still got the burgers, a chicken sandwich and some shared a pizza. The pizza and chicken were just OK. One of the burgers came out raw in the middle. It was embarrassing that we took family here for dinner. Service and food were very poor. We...
Read moreWe've tried this place a few times and it just hasn't been a great experience, although it's certainly not bad. The menu selection is limited and definitely overpriced, but the main problem that I have consistently noticed here is that, although the food ingredients used are of good quality, the restaurant seems to have difficulty in infusing flavors. The blending of herbs, spices, sauces, and other flavors just don't infuse well with the foods; I'm not sure why but there is the distinct experience of tasting the flavors as a separate part of the dish and not connected directly to the actual food items. Maybe I've just had bad luck, but we've tried this place 4 or 5 times, and last night was the last. And, since I've now eaten several times at Me's (wow!), the burgers at Cotton don't compare at all, so not much need to come back here.
Otherwise, it's a really nice place - the staff are great, the environment is clean and well-appointed, music is good (much better than nearly all restaurants in town), and location is perfect for Danville. Menu and food needs work.
Meh, the burgers are good, but everything else is usually overcooked, and the use of horseradish in dishes without informing consumers isn't very...
Read moreOn Friday July 21st @4:45 we walked into building it was not cleaned, floors, elevator has dirt fingerprints all over, glass doors we're filthy. We walked upstairs and entered the restaurant. We were told it would be a 5-10 min wait with only two tables seated. We went to the restroom to freshen up. Ladies' room had a group of 4 women washing their hands as I entered. The toilets looked as though they had been hovered over both toilets, floors in very bad condition. "Nasty." I met my husband outside, and we were seated in about 6 minutes from arrival. As we sat down, the table was sticky, and my husband said,"Honey, the restroom was so nasty with wee wee smell, it burned my eyes to stand in there!" So we decided we needed to leave. We informed our server that we had an appointment and needed to leave. However, my husband piped in and explained how bad the restroom was. She was shocked, we walked out. We have so enjoyed The Cotton over its time since opening. It has been 6-7 months since we last visited. We are so disappointed. We/I welcome any discussion with management on this matter! I sure hope it can come back as it was started. No person in their correct thinking would trust...
