08 July 2018: Hair and mildew all over bathroom, AC froze up overnight so it was warm plus AC fan noise didn't cover up fridge buzzing, sink was stopped up, pool was clean (hence the added star)
Update 09 July 2018 Answers to Randy's reply. See his reply for better understanding:
"Guests at hotels do not always give accurate information concerning their stay. Please do not believe all negative reviews that you read about any property."
My family was asleep at 4 in the morning. Other than a fire, I saw no need in waking everyone up to move to a different room.
"I personally spoke with the guest first thing in the morning and again apologized for any issues and immediately addressed every concern. I offered the guest a complimentary stay on any night of their choice and told them we would go with them to their room next time to verify that everything was in excellent condition. The guest accepted my offer but unfortunately the same guest has now gone online to this site within an hour and gave our property a horrible review that is not accurate. The guests asked for and received a late checkout so I have just recently been able to enter the room and address the issues. I personally followed up on every issue they complained about. Even after their stay, I could not find any hair or mildew anywhere in the bathroom. I inspected with a flashlight and viewed the entire area closely."
The hair and mildew was cleaned as it was noticed.
"The A/C was turned off. I turned it on and it has been blowing VERY COLD air now for about an hour with no problems. I see no evidence of anything wrong with the A/C. The guest had told me they kept it on low all night and it turned off during the night. When you regulate an A/C unit to only cool to a low level it will not keep cooling indefinitely. It will shut off. If they needed it cooler they could have simply placed on HIGH cool and it would have been ice cold."
The AC was set to HIGH initially. It wasn't changed to LOW until it quit blowing cold air.
"I also turned on and ran the vanity sink for 10 straight minutes and it never clogged or was even a slow drain at any point. I used a hair clog remover to check for a hair clog just in case and this sink was not clogged at all. The guest did not have the stopper pushed up all the way therefore it would drain slowly."
The stopper was open all the way. After running the sink it started backing up after only 30 seconds.
"We take great pride in our property and work very hard to please every guest including this guest but unfortunately they chose to slander our property with inaccurate information. I made every effort to resolve all issues with this guest and did everything I could to make it right with them but they still chose to speak poorly about us without justification. Beware of bad reviews, they aren't always accurate."
Bad reviews are given when a person is dissatisfied with a product or service. Just because a complimentary stay was offered doesn't mean a negative review isn't warranted.
Update 10 July 2018: My wife spoke with Randy, the general manager, just a little while ago. He kept talking incessantly; wouldn't let her get a word in. When he did pause for her to speak he would interupt her. Basically he was saying we were lying about our complaints. He called to let us know that he had reneged his offer of a free night's stay because I left a negative review.
If you read any of the negative reviews you will see how defensive and nasty Randy gets. This is not an isolated situation. We stayed at this hotel because of all the positive reviews. Apparently, not everyone is being honest and leaving reviews for which this...
Read moreThe first part of my review has to do with a ridiculous exchange with an employee. At 3:17 am we were awakened by loud voices in the hallway. Thinking it was loud guests on their way to their room, I waited for the noise to die down. After a couple of minutes I opened the door and saw two people at the end of the hall engaged in a loud conversation. They were approximately thirty feet away. I stuck my head out and called out twice before I got their attention. I said people are trying to sleep and you are being too loud. The lady yelled at me saying “ma’am, I WORK here!” To which I responded “ then you should know to keep it down in the middle of the night.” The man said “You're in a motel! HUSH!” As if I should expect to be woken up by hotel employees carrying on loudly in the hall. I am not a light sleeper and am usually good at I filtering out random noises, but this truly was excessive and prolonged.
The room itself seems okay. Very sparse and dated, which are fine for the price. My expectations were fairly low to start with. We were just looking for a decent place to sleep for a last minute trip.
However, two room complaints are that the pillows are very flat and lumpy, and there is no sink or mirror in the bathroom. I needed the mirror to check something in the night. I could not get back to sleep after my rude encounter with staff, and started feeling itchy. I don’t know yet if I was getting bitten or if it was in my head. The point is I wanted to look and see if I could see any bugs on me. The only light was the lighted mirror (which is nice and bright) but not ideal for the middle of the night when there is someone else in the room.
I’ve been half in and out of sleep since 5:30 and was woken twice more; once by something being dragged down the hall and once by a tapping sound I couldn’t identify, but was as loud as a knock on the door and lasted for approximately two minutes.
Based on all of the above, I would not recommend staying here.
We were in room 115 on Aug 3 if anyone in management...
Read moreFirst of all, I reserved the room that was $10 more per night that had 1 king bed instead of the cheaper room with 2 queen beds so me and my husband would have a bigger bed to sleep in together. When we checked in we were not told what was in the room but was told what the price was. We were charged the correct price for the king bed. However, we were given a room with 2 queen beds. When I inquired about paying for the king bed that I reserved but was given 2 queens, I was told at the desk that they couldn’t see my reservation so I should have told them at check in that I reserved a king and not queen. I said at check in I wasn’t told it was queen beds. I didn’t know until I walked in the room. Their response was well it is too late now. You should have asked and the manager isn’t here. The manager wouldn’t be back until Monday after I would be checked out and gone. I knew this was a lie. The main reason I chose this hotel was for the indoor pool. Since it was September in the mountains outside pools would be too cold and I needed to swim and relax my hurting muscles on our anniversary weekend after a long hard week of work. I tried to get in the pool but I couldn’t stay in it because it was freezing cold. My husband told the front desk that there wasn’t any heat turned on to the pool. The lady behind the desk said because it isn’t winter yet. We don’t turn heat on until the winter season. I said indoor pools are supposed to be heated year round because they don’t have the sun to warm up the water unless you have the glass covering on it. She just looked at me like I was stupid. This pool has no glass windows allowing sunlight in and has a regular hotel roof covering. They are dishonest liars running the hotel that promise false amenities. They take your money and give you the bare minimum and less than you pay for. Then tell you it’s your fault. I will never stay at this hotel and I will make sure to tell everyone not...
