This place was horrible, My mom and dad tried it out a while back and said it was disgusting.. Wanting to see for myself, I went and tried it today 8/7/2018 for lunch.. I should’ve took their advice and listened.. $16.65 for a meal that was nasty and burnt and no Customer Service.. I wish I could post pictures of my food.. French Onion Soup has burnt cheese on top of it.. I peeled it off and tasted the soup itself.. It had burnt particles in it and tasted worse than it looked.. It looked like whoever cooked it scorched it and the pan and scraped the burnt residue into the soup from the bottom of the pan.. I then got my Philly Cheesesteak that I ordered with only onions no peppers and guess what, the hoagie bun was burnt and I had peppers in it.. Sent it back and got another 10 minutes later with still a burnt hoagie bun as well as the meat being burnt.. My loaded baked potato had a very small strip of bacon in it.. My helper who was with me from work ordered Chicken Livers dinner with Fried Okra and Sweet Potatoes.. Well low and behold his livers were burnt and dry as can be and his sweet potatoes were burnt as well.. The only thing he ate was his okra and his bill was almost $14.. I asked my server (Tamiko) if their food was normally served like this and she explained that the cheese was burnt because of the toaster oven, I then showed her burnt particles in my soup, the burnt hoagie bun, the burnt and dry chicken livers AND the burnt sweet potatoes and asked why those were burnt too.. She didn’t say anything and walked off and only came back to bring us our bills, and that was after I had already asked for refills on soda and sweet tea as well as a glass of ice for my ice tea TWICE!!! Poor Customer Service, Poor food, Poor Management who was talked to by Tamiko about the situation and just stared at us the rest of the time we were there.. The manager never once offered to come over nor did either one of them offer a discount or something else in place.. I will NEVER waste my time eating at such a poor establishment such as this again.. Lesson Learned.. As I said I really wish I could post the pictures of how burnt...
Read moreMy wife and I planned to visit the Black Rock Mountain but it was cloudy and by the time we got there it was closed. Little heartbroken we decided to find a place to dine in and get back to our Airbnb. We were on a budget so were not really looking for an expensive place to dine in. Looking around all the available options on Google we came across this restaurant coz of its reviews. And we were very surprised for having to find such an amazing place. There are many reason why we gave it 5 stars.
First, we found this place very well maintained and we couldn't stop appreciating all the efforts they have put in for decorating the walls. They have news paper clippings that goes back to 1960s or older and it was very exciting to see them. We certainly didn't expect that and we were pretty much blown away for how well maintained this place was.
Then the food that we ordered was amazing. I was a bit hesitant with my order and I wanted to try the chicken liver dish that they had on the menu but I was not sure of that so the kitchen manager did offer me a small sample which I greatly appreciate. She was very nice and even though it was closing time she made us very comfortable and gave us the time to order our food. I think her name was Debra, if I remember correctly and we were very happy with her service. Our server was very nice and did make us very comfortable. The other staffs looked friendly but since it was closing time so we didn't get a chance to talk to anyone else.
I must recommend the chicken strawberry salad (if I remember the name correctly) which exceeded my expectations. I asked for more chicken since I needed more protein and they did offer me a good portion for a small upcharge. We were very satisfied with meals and the price was very reasonable. We wish we could have more time there to try one of their deserts but it was late and we didn't feel good holding the staffs after their closing time.
They did allow us to take a walk around and look at the wall and if given a chance I would certainly visit this place again. I 100% recommend this place to anyone and to dine in here without...
Read moreHaven't been here in awhile. I never knew there was a drive through though I could tell the building is a former run down raggedy 1980s style bank. (Weird) I called to place a to go order and have never been spoken to so rudely before. A "man" took my order and referred to it as a "drive through order". I didn't think the restaurant had a drive through so I asked do you all actually have a drive through or will I need to come in to get my food? He had the nastiest tone like I was just the dumbest person he had ever encountered in life. He said "ma'am would I have said drive through if we didn't have one?" I said that's actually a legitimate question sir. And again he continued with that nasty tone. I asked to speak to the manager and he yelled that he was the owner. I hung up on him after a few choice words and this GENIUS called me back twice after I threatened to call the police just to say if you ask dumb questions you'll get dumb answers. (Wow) I didn't realize I was giving my order to a rocket scientist or future Nobel Prize winner. That's right.... because I WASN'T...I was talking to a simple minded person who's probably just miserable because he's about to go bankrupt. I'll gladly spend my stupid money with a competitor and I'll tell everyone who will listen not to waste your time with this place. Also the only thing worth eating on the menu is the fried chicken because they don't know how to season ANYTHING. Everything is bland and tasteless. SALT would be a huge improvement if that tells you anything. Im sure he doesn't speak to customers like that in person, just over the phone where it's safe. Rude...
